Avatar f tn Hi, Lower back pain can sometimes be associated with Urinary Tract Infections (UTI), Kidney Infections, and various other health issues. Sometimes bacteria (usually E. Coli) from loose stool or diarrhea can find it's way to the urethra and can travel into the urinary tract causing an infection. If left untreated, the infection can cause pain and eventually extreme illness.
Avatar f tn This sounds like a Urinary tract infection. Do you have fever? If it hurts when you urinate, is there blood in the urine, or is it cloudy? Do you drink alot of carbonated beverages, or coffee? Yes to any of these questions would strongly indicate a urinary tract infection which could turn serious very quickly if left untreated. Cut out softdrinks, coffee, and anything with caffeine for a few days.

Avatar n tn s urine to see if she has a urinary tract infection. If she has a bad urinary tract infection she will need antibiotics. There are plenty of reliable supplements which can provide adjunct therapy but nothing works as quickly as antibiotics, and since urinary tract infections can be painful I would treat her as soon as you can. Cranberry juice or capsules are a good supplement for the urinary tract as a preventative and adjunct therapy.
Avatar n tn Sometimes this urine is also cultured to see what organism is causing it and a sensitivity test done to know which antibiotics will work. Left untreated urinary tract infection can harm your kidney, bladder, ureter or urethra. White pus like thing from your urethra could also be smegma, which is normal. However, I think you should discuss this with your doctor. It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!

738333 tn?1232967475 Hi, The most common cause of kidney infection is the backward flow of infected urine from the bladder to the upper urinary tract. Bacterial infections also may be carried to one or both kidneys through the bloodstream or lymph glands from infection that began in the bladder. Kidney infection also results from urine that becomes stagnant due to obstruction of free urinary flow.
Avatar n tn ve got a problem in your urinary tract, which could be an infection or a kidney stone or both. You definitely need to see your doctor about this because it won't get better on its own and the pain will only get worse. If you wait too long, you'll need to be catheterized and trust me, you won't like it! See if you can get an appointment with your doctor tomorrow, and if not go to an urgent care facility. Take care of this as soon as possible!

Avatar f tn Ok I have the same problem. I was told in the end of Sept that I had a urinary tract infection. I was given a three day course of antibiotics which didn't work, then I had a week long course of macrobid which didn't work. The last was Cypro something and that didn't work. It doesn't hurt when I pee but I almost always have this feeling like I need to go. I go every hour sometims twice and hour and I get up at least twice at night.
Avatar m tn The doctors did more tests and the final report says, she has multiple focal cortical scarring on both her kidneys(more on left) which was possibly caused by undetected Urinary tract infection. This has resulted in significant loss of parenchymal enhancement. On top of that, she also has occlusion in upper pole renal artery to the left. They ruled out renal artery stenosis & FMD. Current situation says, upper half of left kidney is not getting any blood flow.

Avatar f tn It sounds like the beginning of a urinary tract infection. They're common when you first start having sex. You'll want to drink lots of water to flush the bacteria out. ALWAYS try to pee both before and after you have sex- otherwise you are putting extra pressure on your bladder (from him rubbing against it). After sex you want to flush any bacteria that are lingering near the opening of your urethra.
Avatar n tn Patty, The frequent urination suggests that the infection is getting worse. What started as a UTI can proceed into a Bladder or Kidney infection if left untreated. The discharge would indicate worsening condition, also. I think your safe (Against yeast) with a few rounds of antibiotics. The only time I've seen yeast problems arise is through extended use of antibiotics, maybe months....However, the yeast problem does not compare to a rapid spreading bacteria.
4251679 tn?1370305531 UTIs are exactly what their name describes. and infection in your urinary tract. its not in your vagina, however, ive always been told not to have sex while you have one because sex could be the cause of it. and its best to make sure its all better before introducing even more bacteria. Ive never heard of it being contagious, and dont think that it is, but ask your doctor. and ive also never had a cream to use, so im not sure what thats for.
Avatar n tn You may not even have to bring your dog in for an exam if the urine is positive for a simple urinary tract infection (an infection without crystals). The vet can simply give appropriate antibiotics. If your dog has crystals in his urine, the crystals would need to be identified and treatment instituted. Crystals can be dangerous in male dogs because if they become large enough they can become lodged in the urethra and cause blockage (even in dogs, though more common in male cats).
