Common Questions and Answers about Urinary infection back pain

infection

Avatar f tn Had a call from my midwife today to let me know the results of my urine test and they show I have a urinary tract infection (UTI). I've had no symptoms but she said I need some antibiotics. Has this happened to anyone else, should I be worried?
Avatar m tn However your urinary symptoms concern me and could indicate a urinary tract infection. Sometimes when these infections are not treated they work their way up to the kidneys which are located in the back area. You need to see a doctor to be evaluated and to have your urine tested to make sure you do not have a urinary tract infection. Do not hesitate in seeing a doctor; if you do have an infection it could cause serious kidney damage. Let us know how you do.
Avatar m tn Hi there i have developed urinary pain recently, I have protected sex on a irregular basis although that does not eliminate the threat of STDs, I am quite positive its a bacterial infection, can you please offer your opinions!

Avatar n tn The delayed period can also be because of PCOS. For other symptoms of bladder pain and low back pain it is necessary to rule out urinary infection and pelvic infection. Consult a gynaecologist for an examination. Hope this helps.

Avatar m tn If yu think it's a urinary infection try drinking cranberry juice until you can see your doctor. That's what they told my sister to do to treat hers and it worked.
Avatar f tn Hi, Lower back pain can sometimes be associated with Urinary Tract Infections (UTI), Kidney Infections, and various other health issues. Sometimes bacteria (usually E. Coli) from loose stool or diarrhea can find it's way to the urethra and can travel into the urinary tract causing an infection. If left untreated, the infection can cause pain and eventually extreme illness.
Avatar n tn I have pain in my lower back and sides that seems to be making me nauseous, my stomach is a little irritated as well which is making it worse. The pain is dull and constant, and is made worse by moving. I did take some Tylenol yesterday, but it was only 2 pills, this has been going on since yesterday but is a bit worse today. I was working Friday and yesterday and was standing on my feet most of the day.
Avatar n tn I am a 40 year old female. I have constant lower back pain on my left side when I am sleeping, and am able to get temporary relief, sometimes, after I urinate. It is severe enough to interrupt my sleep and recently is causing me to have night sweats. I have a doctors appointment in a month, and the general belief is that I might have urine backing up into my kidney. I have had these symptoms for a while and have been told that I do not have an infection, or a stone.
Avatar f tn It sounds like a urinary tract infection. You should see your Dr for treatment. I hope you feel better soon. Take care.
Avatar f tn Your symptoms could be due to UTI, or urinary tract infection. The infection could be at any level from bladder to ureter to kidney. It could also be due to a stone in the urinary tract. What you need is a urine culture and sensitivity test done. You can also give it for culture and sensitivity in a sterile bottle provided by the lab. This will tell you what organism is causing the infection and what antibiotic will kill it permanently.
Avatar n tn i went back and read your previous posts...and for the life of me...i cant figure out what the heck you're trying to say or ask. i'm gonna give it a shot in the dark here. originally you posted about a paper cut on your finger and something about a piece of paper. not sure what that's about. so now...you're stating that you had condom protected sex but that the pro licked you and you had hemorrhoids and you are wondering if that put you at risk. is that correct?

Avatar n tn Hi, welcome to the forum, yes, kidney infection can be related to the pyelonephritis. Urinary tract infection can be due to infection involving any part from kidney to urethra. Infection may be pyelonephritis (involving upper urinary tract), urethritis, uretitis, cystitis (lower urinary tract) etc. Presence of Anatomic abnormalities resulting in obstruction, stasis, or reflux of urinary flow all predisposes towards recurrent urinary infections.
