Avatar n tn I'm not sure if this is under the right topic, but I have unilateral joint pain on one side of my body (left). My knee, my elbow and recently within the last couple of days, my wrist, are all painful. I have noticed that my knees and elbows started hurting intermittently a year ago, but it's gotten progressively worse in the past month or so. I have started taking Schiff Move Free, but it only helped somewhat, and only when I took double the dosage amount.
Avatar f tn Sometimes he does not wake up in the night but complains when he gets up in the morning. The pain is almost always unilateral, the left leg, but on occasion he complains that the right one is hurting as well. The pain is ALWAYS in the front of the shin, as far as we can pinpoint together, it is in seems to be the shin bone, below the knee to mid shin. He had this evaluated by an orthopedist when he was 4, who did an x-ray from the pelvis down.

Avatar f tn I had (have) pain in the hip joint running down the outside my my thigh and into my knee, just as you describe. Walking makes it better. Sitting can be near impossible. It took me years to find a DX (Diagnosis). It was a D.O that finally DX me, proved it with several tests and treated me. I have chronic SIJD. I also had Greater Trochanteric Bursitis - in simple terms, hip bursitis. This can be caused by trauma to the hip. Very painful but treatable.
Avatar f tn This condition is due to an inflammation in the temporal artery and other arteries in the body. Symptoms include one sided headache pain in the temple and jaw that may be triggered by chewing, touching of hair, combing of hair, etc. This condition can be diagnosed by a blood test called an ESR and a biopsy of the artery. It is very important to rule this diagnosis out as it is highly treatable and if left untreated it can lead to vision loss.
Avatar m tn Over the Christmas holiday, I felt lightheaded a few more times and had this dull headache, which got one night pretty bad that I had to take a painkiller. The pain was located in the frontal portion of my head so i thought my sinuses got also irritated by the MJ smoke. Anyways of course i ignored all these symptoms.
Avatar f tn Edema (fluid accumulation in any body part, resulting in swelling) has been reported as an adverse event in 37% of pancreatic cancer patients taking Tarceva, although this side effect has not been reported in lung cancer cases. However, the type of edema associated with Tarceva use is either generalized or involves a swelling of both legs. Swelling in only one leg may not be due to this drug. Unilateral leg swelling may be due to a local infection (cellulitis) in that area.

1607742 tn?1297984935 The various causes of leg pain are atherosclerosis, deep vein thrombosis - leg pain on walking (A blood clot in a deep vein), Leriche syndrome (block in abdominal aorta and/or main leg artery), limb ischaemia (low oxygen to limbs), sciatica, spondylitis of lower vertebrae and peripheral vascular disease (arteries of limbs are involved). A color Doppler test will rule out the possibility of involvement of an artery or vein and its blockage by a clot.

Avatar f tn What are the possible causes of unilateral (one side only) throat pain? I have had pain (sharp, like a knife or a tearing sensation) in the right side of my throat at about the level of the larynx for well over a month. It is mild until I yawn, then it is very sharp. It radiates into the right ear. I've been searching on the internet, but can't find anything specific besides "unilateral throat pain should be investigated by a physician".
Avatar f tn For the past couple months I have experienced a deep, slightly burning pain in my right leg after sitting or driving for longer than 15 minutes. This pain is growing more frequent as I have started a job last month that requires I sit (at a desk) for longer periods of time. This pain starts in the back of my upper thigh/ buttocks area and continues down to the back of my knee. Sometimes the slight burning sensation continues down the front of my calf.
Avatar m tn I get a sharp pain in my left knee when jumping hard. I can run and sprint without pain. I can even jump 10 to 12 inches without noticing any pain. But when I do a two legged jump to go up for a dunk, I immediately get pain around the middle of my left knee. It then hurts to jump and there is pain when doing even a minor squat. Eventually within about an hour.
Avatar m tn Symmetric peri-oral numbness is common in cases of hypocalcaemia and is an accompanying symptom in migraine suffering people that may precede the headache itself. Symmetrical or unilateral affection of the face is common with cervical disc lesion. In disc disease or spinal arthritis the nerve roots are compresses (radiculopathy) leading to paresthesia that is felt according to the level of affection.
Avatar f tn I had some mild pain in the calf of my left leg. My doctor said it is not a clot. The pain has gotten extensively worse now affecting the knee. I went back to doctor and the doctor said it is arthritis of the knee and that, at this point, no tests were necessary. Well, in spite of anti-inflammatory meds, I cannot put my full weight down on my leg without pain that seems more concentrated directly under the knee. I am walking around limping.

Avatar f tn At first the pain was in my left knee, and in my right hip. Now I have pain in my right knee and right hip. I have heard that abnormal gait can cause this. I do not believe that this is my case. Does MS cause joint pain? Do any of you have pain in the hips and/or knees?
Avatar f tn Hi. I'm 38 years old. I've had relatively normal periods all my life, moderate flow and some cramping and lower back ache. Last fall i had a sinus infection which caused migraines and took several different courses of antibiotics to get rid of. As soon as it was cleared up, i got a very sharp, sudden pain in my back on the right side that did not go away. I thought after so many antibiotics maybe i had a kidney stone.
Avatar f tn Hi again everyone, my leg is killing me, its really swollen today, and i have radiating pain from my ankles to my hip. My pain has definitely got worse since i had surgery, not in my knee but everywhere else. I just hate playing the waiting game, because thats what my doctor makes me do, and im not able to take pain meds, so i have to deal with it everyday. It's very irratating, and it's hard to stay positive and happy when all im able to do everyday is sit in my bed and watch tv.
Avatar n tn 14 yo suffers from excruciating unilateral jaw pain, severe unilateral facial swelling and extreme unilateral eye pain with exercise, fast walking, jogging or playing volleyball/basketball. Any ideas what could be causing this? The last episode involved loss of vision for 10 minutes. I am frightened and no one seems to know what is wrong with her.
4671444 tn?1357794171 Hi! In all probability you have injured the menisci in the knee—either the medial or the lateral depending on the site of pain. Meniscii if torn or injured, result in joint instability—that is you are not confident the knee joint will take your weight. Often the person feels a popping sensation on moving the joint. It can also be tendinitis due to inflammation of tendon at the knee joint. Since you had tendon injury 4 years back, this time too it could be a tendon troubling you.
