Avatar m tn What's the difference between Ultram ER and Tramadol? I've been taking/abusing Ultram ER 200mg. To get off these things my Dr switched me to Tramadol 50mg. 1-2 4 times daily w/2 extra strength Tylenol. I'm feeling lethargic. I slept fine but I'm just tired and I'm jumpy. For those who have not read my journal this all started after being struck by lighting in June. I'm assuming what I'm felling is a difference between Ultram and Tramadol.
Avatar m tn But, I checked with our nurse and she asked how your are trying to d-tox from it? Tramadol and Ultram are the same drugs. They also have Ultram ER which is the extended released. It is a controlled substance. A lot of PM docs use this for patients to take all day long, every day. My employer and doc tried to put me on Ultram ER and I refused to take it. Good luck and if you need any suggestions for the d-tox, let me know and I will check.
Avatar m tn I do not need to get a buzz from the meds. So I have these Ultram ER - extended release @ 100 mg; one pill per day. Has anyone used these before and what about them? BTW - I have cut down on travel considerably but this has been going on and off since April and surgery in June...I have to work.
Avatar m tn Ultram is nothing more than the Brand name for Tramadol and Ultram ER is a timed release of Tramadol. Ultracet is merely Tramdol and Tylenol in the same pill.
Avatar f tn my doctor just gave me a prescription for ultram er 200mg and i have cirossis is this ok to take for short period of time about 1 or 2 months please answer was on lortab prior
406036 tn?1216188561 I was able to control the dose combard to the the Ultram. Ultram is the same as Tramadol except that you only take one pill with Ultram...and you have to wait for results. While you are severe pain, that is a long time to wait especially since vicodin and tramadol works faster. Since you will figure that out, you will find yourself taking more ultram just to make sure that you can have the least amount of pain possibe. I felt myself taking another Ultram because the pain was blinding.
Avatar n tn There are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women. ULTRAM ER should be used during pregnancy only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the fetus. Neonatal seizures, neonatal withdrawal syndrome, fetal death and still birth have been reported during post-marketing reports with tramadol HCl immediate-release products. Labor and Delivery ULTRAM ER should not be used in pregnant women prior to or during labor unless the potential benefits outweigh the risks.
Avatar m tn Serotonin Syndrome Risk The development of a potentially life-threatening serotonin syndrome may occur with use of tramadol products, including ULTRAM ER, particularly with concomitant use of serotonergic drugs such as SSRIs, SNRIs, TCAs, MAOIs and triptans, with drugs which impair metabolism of serotonin (including MAOIs) and with drugs which impair metabolism of tramadol (CYP2D6 and CYP3A4 inhibitors). This may occur within the recommended dose.
Avatar f tn Let me explain better.....he was weening me off of Ultram and I was doing really, really well but my insurance would not pay for as many Ultram as I needed. So, He didn't want me going c/t so he wanted to give me something that was like Ultram to replace it. He told me that the MS ER was the same "kind" of med as Ultram. He said that it is the "sister" to Ultram. Right now I'm on the next to LOWEST dose there is so it is a very, very low dose.
Avatar f tn My question is, I wanted to know how much ultram of the 100mg er I would need to take to keep up with the norco I was taking. Or if it even is comparible to the norco......
176495 tn?1301280412 I think, I am not sure but two people here, avisg and malenurse, I think ultram or tramadol is what they had to withdraw from and it was very hard and painful so be careful and maybe even ask one of them about it.
Avatar m tn is anyone switching ultram tramadol for pain management, How does itseem to be working fro you?

Avatar f tn I have just been prescribed, Ultram ER, Did some searches and read on here, That it shouldn't be mixed with ADs that serratonin affected, I am on Effexor, The last few months I have had terrible sinus headaches and migraines. Appreciate any info on this!
Avatar n tn Ultram (Tramadol) is going to do nothing but prolong your withdrawals. Tramadol, whether it's in Ultram, Ultracet, or Ultram ER, is a nasty drug to detox from. It has properties that make it almost like a benzo and an opiate combined into one little nasty pill. There's things to take that are not addictive that can help with withdrawal symptoms such as clonidine (Catapres) and hydroxyzine (Vistaril, Atarax). Please, steer clear of the Ultram.
Avatar f tn ve GOT to have something for pain! My doc prescribed Ultram ER for me. I know what to expect from the vicodin withdrawals but I have no idea what to expect from ultram. Im not sure that I even want to try it (depending on the responses that I get here). I don't want to put myself through anything worse than the vicodin withdrawals but as I said, Ive got to have a pain med... Im also currently on Lyrica (about 3 weeks now) and so far, its done NOTHING for my pain. What should I do???

572713 tn?1237094902 Ultram ER 100mg 1 each a.m., and Norco 5/325 1 each night. My surgeon says if I still need these meds in one month, I need to see a pain specialist. I really have 2 questions: #1 - Am I abusing pain meds at this point? and #2 - Am I at risk for addiction to Ultram at this dose? I don't feel I'm a sissy about pain, but am starting to wonder, based on my doc's reaction...Thanks for your help.
