I believe Ultram and Ultracet are the same. It is 37.5 tramadol and whatever of acetaminophen. I had the generic of Ultracet (have the bottle right in front of me) it is broke down as aceetaminophen and 37.5 tramadol. It is entitled tramadol (generic for Ultracet) but it has the acet/tramadol combination.
I was then prescribed straight tramadol which is 50mg tramadol with nothing else added. period.
If ultram is different than that is news to me.
Hey Aaron... Ultracet is addictive. Many people have gotten hooked on it. Its Ultram/Ultracet/Tramadol I believe they are all related and whehter doctors say so or not, they are addictive and can be dangerous. :( sorry for the bad news. They are also derived from the opiate family. Be careful with them. Ive used them during in between times when I was using -- just to hold w/drawal at bay -- so that should tell you something right there..
Still some pain so am taking 3 Ultracet tabs per 24 hours with pretty good pain relief except following 30 minutes on the treadmill and various muscle building exercises and stretches. To calm down those muscles following exercises and stretches I would like to take one 200mg Celebrex daily but one drug interaction cite suggests "Moderate" drug-drug issue involving CYP450 2D6, which means nothing to me.
whats ultracet? i know its a pain reliever with tylenol, but does it give you the energy and motivation of vike or percs? I ask because I had to change doctors, and while he wasnt too happy to write for the vicodins i have been on for years, he had no problem with ultracet and he gave me a script.....so im basically asking, do people get addicted to this drug? should i not even start it?
Anyone out there that can feel me in on Ultracet experiences? My doctor put me on this instead of Hydrocodone today and said that since I take Effexor XR that there is a possibility of seizures. I have researched this since and have read all the medical info but would like to hear from real people and their experiences. I have take Hydrocodone since April of last year, 1 or 2 5/500 a day on average and rarely 3 or 4. There are some days that I have not needed it but most days I do.

I was addicted to Tramadol for 18 months, with 9+ months of daily abuse. I am still learning about it and am a Vet, having Rx'd it for my own patients. The short of it is, it IS addictive and do NOT believe ANYone telling you it is not.
I believe that you have an addiction if you revolve your days and thoughts about when your next dose is, if you get excited to take it, if you seek it out and start doing things you normally would not to get it, things like that.
I have fibromyalgia, degenerative disk disease, and cervical disk pain from previous cervical surgeries. Up until 2 weeks ago, I was taking Effexor XR daily, and Zanaflex and Ultracet 37.5, as needed. 2 weeks ago my cervical disk started going haywire with pain. I upped my Ultracet to 3 a day as prescribed and started taking the Zanaflex to the maximum dosage too. This did not faze the pain.
How many pills a day or for how long do you think you would need to be on Ultracet/Ultram before you would experience withdrawal symptoms? My husband took about 100 pills in a 2 week period (unknown to me - they were mine!) and he had mysterious stomach cramping/pain around the time he finished them/ran out. Sounds like it was related.
i just went to the doctor, and he gave me ultracet. does this work for pain and help withdrawl from hydros?
was your tramadol presription for ULTRAM or ULTRACET? If it is/was UltraCET, that contains acetaminophen (tylenol) as well as the tramadol, so therefore, if you took additional tylenol with it, you could have gotten too much of the tylenol ingredient, which could make you sick (and cause liver damage if continued).
Hey any one awake yet....I have a question...the doc. now has put me on ultracet...it says 37.5 5/325....i had to take 2 yesterday over the cource of 12 hours...my questions is i'm reading that ppl are becoming addicted...i dont understand how....they dont make me feel high.....however the pain is better..not completely gone but better...so my ? is why are ppl getting addicted taking 10-15-20 a day if they dont get you high...can someone enlighten me.
I am a music minister in an Evangelical Bible Church and have just had my second back surgery. My back feels great! I had unbearable pain for only a year (not much compared to some of the posters on here (7+ years of back pain, how do you do it?)). Throughout my year of pain, my doctor prescribed me hydrocodone (from 5's to eventually 10's) and tramadol 50mg (which I took with tylenol 50/500 - making it basically generic ultracet).
My friend and I were talking the other day and she said, "Oh, my mom said a lady at her prayer group said that there was "a new darvocet out on the market now." Of course I am more than curious since my mom just had to stop darvocet herself. My friend then tells me this "new darvocet" is called Ultracet! Can you believe this? I knew this was coming since darvocet was pulled by the FDA, now the drs. are going to start prescribing ultracet/ultram/tramadol alot more.
I have so multiple pain issues, I'm not sure who to see anymore. I've been seeing my rheumi for the past 10 years for fibro, recurrent bursitis, bilateral shoulder impingement syndrome. I've had carpal tunnel issues, then surgery. Now for the past two years I have episodic tingling in BOTH hands. Also I have pain sometimes in my left thumb/ wrist thats shoots into my forearm. Then I also have a lumbar herniated disc, DDD in all my spine, bad neck with pinched nerves.
This is not so much a question as it is a confession. I've been using vicodin on and off for a few years...it "helped" me through my divorce, transition into a new and better life for myself and the high was so great. I was so confidant and fun to be with. I was getting them from a former employer with a DEA #. At first he wrote the perscriptions for me and we would share them I would only use them in the evening to tolerate the last few weeks of my marriage.
I just got back from the dr. and he gave me a script for ultracet....I dont know anything about this drug...He said it was in the same family as vicoden...which now has me worried ..I dont want to go from one addiction to another...Is this drug like vicoden? I was taking then every day since. Then maybe about 7 months ago I added ultracet to my poisen. I have VERY easy access to Rx's. and since A family member of mine get vicodin I was getting pills from all angles. So I was taking 1 vicodin and 2 ultracets in the morning, 3 ulracets in the afternoon, 1 vicodin 2 ultracets in the evening and 3 ultracets in the night! I did that everyday, the first time i tried quitting i was going through a nervous scared depressed feeling.
My husband just had his Gallbladder removed and he was addict for 13 years he's been clean for 7 the dr prescribed him Ultracet and he's scared to take it for the pain because of his addictive past. The Dr knew he was a addict and told him they are not addictive but reading online it says it is should he get the script filled or just take OTC meds? If OTC what should he take?
