Ultracet or hydrocodone

Common Questions and Answers about Ultracet or hydrocodone

ultracet

Avatar f tn Ultracet or tramadol sucks, it's good for squawt. But the Docs like it because the manufacturer says it's not addictive and it's not a controlled substance, but it is very addictive. I hope you find relief for your pain,it's a real tuff road to find.
Avatar n tn I am a music minister in an Evangelical Bible Church and have just had my second back surgery. My back feels great! I had unbearable pain for only a year (not much compared to some of the posters on here (7+ years of back pain, how do you do it?)). Throughout my year of pain, my doctor prescribed me hydrocodone (from 5's to eventually 10's) and tramadol 50mg (which I took with tylenol 50/500 - making it basically generic ultracet).
Avatar f tn The meds that they have you on are really not for the control of anything more than minor pain. If more reparative surgery is not an option, it sounds like your condition has progressed to the point where you are going to need to go to an actual pain management doctor, to get meds that most general practitioners are not comfortable prescribing. Ultracet is not for severe pain even though it is listed as such. Not to mention that it is as addictive as any narcotic.
446097 tn?1223694666 The problem is I have a MAJOR job interview today and am not feeling well. chills, runny nose, bathroom, etc. I found an Ultracet lying around. Will this help me get through today? I really need to bring my A game.
398893 tn?1201315707 t notice when i stopped taking it, but I have noticed the dissappearance of the hydro and the ultracet *even though i hate ultracet, I became dependent on it before i knew what was going on*my body did** OK my question is this, What is a good continual release medication to use for Constant pain.....I only know about the medications I have used and not much else, IF anyone has any advice for me PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE reply.
Avatar f tn question: if 1 mg of suboxone is equal to 20-30 mgs of hydrocodone would that be the same for oxycontin would 1 mg of sub be equal to 20-30 mgs oxy then?
Avatar f tn The sweats are most likely withdrawls from the hydrocodone. Im not farmiliar with tramadol or if its addicting. I heard tho ultracet wasnt addictive like hydrocodone but I read on here somewhere where someone was addicted to it. I would read up on here of peoples storries about teh tramadol and see what u find. How long have u been off the hydrocodone?
Avatar n tn My 77 year old mother has been using Hydrocodone APAP 10/325 or 10/500mg for many years to take the edge off of severe RA. Her dosage is 1/1 PO TID which she has been very compliant and adheres to faithfully. During her last lab visit her M.D. had ordered a UDS along with the other labs. Her anxiolytic medication XANAX came back pusitive yet her opiate panel came back clean.
Avatar n tn My neurosurgeon sent me to a pain specialist doctor and he put me on ultracet - a hydrocodone - apap 3,75 & 325 mg. to help control the pain until my surgery date. That helped me a lot with the pain and the headaches. I could not have made it through waiting for my surgery with out it. He also gave me Ibuprophen pain patches for my neck that helped. Not sure if this helps you any but I would ask your surgeon about it.
Avatar n tn Tramadol/ultram/ultracet (ultracet having tylenol in it) is habit-forming and not recommended for people with prior addictions...it was originally advertised as not being habit forming but it affects the same receptors as narcotics do...tram also has an antidepressant componenet which makes wd even more difficult due to the depression factor during detox...it is supposedly not "as" habit forming as other narcotics like hydrocodone or oxycodone if taken as prescribed...
Avatar m tn I am not a doctor or pharmacist but I know that at one point I was taking ultracet and celebrex. I would take the celebrax each morning and then the ultracet as needed. Call your doctor or pharmacist to be sure as everyone is different and they know more about the drugs and interactions.
Avatar m tn and an addict as well...and i HAD to choose btw oxy or hydro verses tramadol/I would choose oxy or hydro cos at least there is some sort of pain relief available/only for a while due to tolerence...but trams are so weak as far as pain control peeps pop many to provide relief//and in the meantime their brain becomes addicted///plus narcs can be stopped CT as a rule safely...trams can not due to seizure risk with abrupt cessation/they must be tapered...too much risk for lil or no pain control....
Avatar f tn Ultracet is a straight up 37.5 tramadol and 325 acitomitophene(sp?
Avatar m tn GOOD IDEA! I wouldnt personally mess with the ultracet or trams. The scary factor alone would prevent me. Used them in the past, but didnt know all the dangers involved. PT might help wonders. What is the back issue? Herniations? Lower back? I injured my back really badly when I was 24. I had prior herniation L4-5 but I didnt bother me.
Avatar m tn I'm not looking to start a big thread or anything... I just have a quick question about this drug. Supposedly it is non-narcotic right? It's some type of synthesized narcotic or something like that. I see that there are quite a few people who are struggling with it and I was wondering if most people abuse it because it gives them some type of high like other narcotics... Thanks in advance....
Avatar n tn ultracet it highly addictive as well. The withdrawl is VERY bad .
Avatar m tn So have the past 3-4 years of taking the same dose of hydrocodone just been one long detox proccess? Or is the real **** storm waiting right around the corner waiting to pounce? I'm quite confused....
Avatar f tn My doctor is not happy with me taking 1 or 2 of the 5/500 hydros a day. He wants me to get off of them completely but it is the ONLY thing that I have found that will take the edge off the pain so I can make it through my work day. I have been taking them off and on for over 8 months and not had to up the dosage any.
Avatar n tn How many pills a day or for how long do you think you would need to be on Ultracet/Ultram before you would experience withdrawal symptoms? My husband took about 100 pills in a 2 week period (unknown to me - they were mine!) and he had mysterious stomach cramping/pain around the time he finished them/ran out. Sounds like it was related.
Avatar m tn I believe Ultram and Ultracet are the same. It is 37.5 tramadol and whatever of acetaminophen. I had the generic of Ultracet (have the bottle right in front of me) it is broke down as aceetaminophen and 37.5 tramadol. It is entitled tramadol (generic for Ultracet) but it has the acet/tramadol combination. I was then prescribed straight tramadol which is 50mg tramadol with nothing else added. period. If ultram is different than that is news to me.
Avatar m tn Ultracet needs to be tapered. How much were you taking a day?
Avatar f tn i just went to the doctor, and he gave me ultracet. does this work for pain and help withdrawl from hydros?
Avatar f tn was your tramadol presription for ULTRAM or ULTRACET? If it is/was UltraCET, that contains acetaminophen (tylenol) as well as the tramadol, so therefore, if you took additional tylenol with it, you could have gotten too much of the tylenol ingredient, which could make you sick (and cause liver damage if continued).
Avatar f tn Hey any one awake yet....I have a question...the doc. now has put me on ultracet...it says 37.5 5/325....i had to take 2 yesterday over the cource of 12 hours...my questions is i'm reading that ppl are becoming addicted...i dont understand how....they dont make me feel high.....however the pain is better..not completely gone but better...so my ? is why are ppl getting addicted taking 10-15-20 a day if they dont get you high...can someone enlighten me.
Avatar f tn Tramadol withdrawal lasts longer than that of other opioids; seven days or more of acute withdrawal symptoms can occur as opposed to typically three or four days for other codeine analogues.
439522 tn?1214951189 s harder to get off of than hydrocodone or oxycontin. Does anyone know anything about this? I mean, it seems odd that he would be working to get me off the opioids, and then prescribe me something that might be as bad or worse...it doesn't make sense. The handout that came with it says "it is similar to narcotic pain medicine" but not a narcotic. Any thoughts or help would be appreciated.
Avatar n tn By my calculations you are taking 6.5 7.5 mg pills a day. That means you are taking about 50 mg/day that is way tooooo much. I'm sure your MD not going to be a happy camper about that. Why are you taking so many and what are they percs, vics???? Does your script call for you to take that much?
