Hey any one awake yet....I have a question...the doc. now has put me on ultracet...it says 37.5 5/325....i had to take 2 yesterday over the cource of 12 hours...my questions is i'm reading that ppl are becoming addicted...i dont understand how....they dont make me feel high.....however the pain is better..not completely gone but better...so my ? is why are ppl getting addicted taking 10-15-20 a day if they dont get you high...can someone enlighten me.
My husband just had his Gallbladder removed and he was addict for 13 years he's been clean for 7 the dr prescribed him Ultracet and he's scared to take it for the pain because of his addictive past. The Dr knew he was a addict and told him they are not addictive but reading online it says it is should he get the script filled or just take OTC meds? If OTC what should he take?
Still some pain so am taking 3 Ultracet tabs per 24 hours with pretty good pain relief except following 30 minutes on the treadmill and various muscle building exercises and stretches. To calm down those muscles following exercises and stretches I would like to take one 200mg Celebrex daily but one drug interaction cite suggests "Moderate" drug-drug issue involving CYP450 2D6, which means nothing to me.
I just wanted to ask you about your post here about Tramadol/Ultracet.... I have been taking 3/4 to 1 and 1/2 pill a day for about 2 months now, and I am 6 months pregnant. My back Dr. prescribed them to me last year and I had some left over, I take them because of my chronic back pain. My OB doesn't know I take them, she knows I did for almost 2 months before i knew I was pregnant and said to stop and gave me one script for a few Darvocet instead....
Hey Aaron... Ultracet is addictive. Many people have gotten hooked on it. Its Ultram/Ultracet/Tramadol I believe they are all related and whehter doctors say so or not, they are addictive and can be dangerous. :( sorry for the bad news. They are also derived from the opiate family. Be careful with them. Ive used them during in between times when I was using -- just to hold w/drawal at bay -- so that should tell you something right there..
My primary care physician retired and was replaced with someone overworked and clueless to my junky ways. I used this opportunity to get a script for vicodin..w/o batting an eye he gives me 60 norcos w/ 3 refills..Major jackpot..like everyone else I was semi controlled at first..I'd share em with my friends who were thrilled..they would share em with their husbands..everyone happy...what the hell was I going to do with 60 friggin pills..?? Then of course I started needing more..
I believe Ultram and Ultracet are the same. It is 37.5 tramadol and whatever of acetaminophen. I had the generic of Ultracet (have the bottle right in front of me) it is broke down as aceetaminophen and 37.5 tramadol. It is entitled tramadol (generic for Ultracet) but it has the acet/tramadol combination.
I was then prescribed straight tramadol which is 50mg tramadol with nothing else added. period.
If ultram is different than that is news to me.
How many pills a day or for how long do you think you would need to be on Ultracet/Ultram before you would experience withdrawal symptoms? My husband took about 100 pills in a 2 week period (unknown to me - they were mine!) and he had mysterious stomach cramping/pain around the time he finished them/ran out. Sounds like it was related.
i just went to the doctor, and he gave me ultracet. does this work for pain and help withdrawl from hydros?
whats ultracet? i know its a pain reliever with tylenol, but does it give you the energy and motivation of vike or percs? I ask because I had to change doctors, and while he wasnt too happy to write for the vicodins i have been on for years, he had no problem with ultracet and he gave me a script.....so im basically asking, do people get addicted to this drug? should i not even start it?
was your tramadol presription for ULTRAM or ULTRACET? If it is/was UltraCET, that contains acetaminophen (tylenol) as well as the tramadol, so therefore, if you took additional tylenol with it, you could have gotten too much of the tylenol ingredient, which could make you sick (and cause liver damage if continued).
It is really depressing because I have realized that I am sad w/o using but it would be worse if I use. I kinda just want to cry all the time. I can't really get out and do things because I take care of my elderly mom and I can't leave her alone. I don't have anyone to talk to about it because no knows. I did tell my mom that I don't think she needs any more of the strong pain pills because I've heard that people can get addicted to them.
Anyone out there that can feel me in on Ultracet experiences? My doctor put me on this instead of Hydrocodone today and said that since I take Effexor XR that there is a possibility of seizures. I have researched this since and have read all the medical info but would like to hear from real people and their experiences. I have take Hydrocodone since April of last year, 1 or 2 5/500 a day on average and rarely 3 or 4. There are some days that I have not needed it but most days I do.
My friend and I were talking the other day and she said, "Oh, my mom said a lady at her prayer group said that there was "a new darvocet out on the market now." Of course I am more than curious since my mom just had to stop darvocet herself. My friend then tells me this "new darvocet" is called Ultracet! Can you believe this? I knew this was coming since darvocet was pulled by the FDA, now the drs. are going to start prescribing ultracet/ultram/tramadol alot more.
I have fibromyalgia, degenerative disk disease, and cervical disk pain from previous cervical surgeries. Up until 2 weeks ago, I was taking Effexor XR daily, and Zanaflex and Ultracet 37.5, as needed. 2 weeks ago my cervical disk started going haywire with pain. I upped my Ultracet to 3 a day as prescribed and started taking the Zanaflex to the maximum dosage too. This did not faze the pain.
m a mother of 2 and I have been addicted to hydros 10/650 for a year now! I cannot get out of bed in am w/o my pills first! My husband does not no abt this addiction and would probably not be very supportive! I became addicted after a long battle w endometriosis that resulted in a full hysterectomy! Now I'm going through surgery induced menopause and addicted to this devil pill! What a life! I want off this medication but how do I do it when I have a family and children to raise?
