Ultracet non narcotic

Common Questions and Answers about Ultracet non narcotic

ultracet

Avatar f tn I just want to know why if these drugs are so terrible to withdraw from, that the drs.can say they are non-narcotic? Are they non-narcotic? If they are, then that still deceives people because they hear non-narcotic, they assume no side effects, can stop anytime etc.. Also, do you suppose that most drs. even tell patient's that these drugs have the anti-depressant in them? So, glad me and mom knew ahead of time so she didn't start taking one of these.
Avatar n tn Hey, I am on day 3 and things arn't as bad as I thought, (so far) but I am using ultracet which is a non narcotic that my roommate had left over from a doc's visit! I am also using immodium and it seems to be making it easier on my ***! No offence with the language, hopefully? Anyhow, hang in there, I am! Zakk.....uhhhhhh! when does it stop?
Avatar m tn Is it safe to say it is not addicting, and non-narcotic and safe for an addict. From all I am reading it seems it is JUST a BAD drug.
Avatar n tn Tramadol/ultram/ultracet (ultracet having tylenol in it) is habit-forming and not recommended for people with prior addictions...it was originally advertised as not being habit forming but it affects the same receptors as narcotics do...tram also has an antidepressant componenet which makes wd even more difficult due to the depression factor during detox...it is supposedly not "as" habit forming as other narcotics like hydrocodone or oxycodone if taken as prescribed...
Avatar n tn It is a non-narcotic and has no affect on me for pain or a buzz. The hospital I worked at gave it to patients if they suspected they were pill seekers.
Avatar f tn it is better not to use anything narcotic or narcotic like to stop an opiate...people do..and if u do learn everything u can so u dont end up in another addiction to a new doc..
Avatar m tn I'm not looking to start a big thread or anything... I just have a quick question about this drug. Supposedly it is non-narcotic right? It's some type of synthesized narcotic or something like that. I see that there are quite a few people who are struggling with it and I was wondering if most people abuse it because it gives them some type of high like other narcotics... Thanks in advance....
898832 tn?1243968023 the first is a drug very similar to tramadol...narcotic like/stronger than tram in that respect with an actual AD mixed in..neurocet is tramdol...ultracet which tram mixed with tylenol but is not labeled here in the us as such but is an out of country brand..
Avatar m tn Still some pain so am taking 3 Ultracet tabs per 24 hours with pretty good pain relief except following 30 minutes on the treadmill and various muscle building exercises and stretches. To calm down those muscles following exercises and stretches I would like to take one 200mg Celebrex daily but one drug interaction cite suggests "Moderate" drug-drug issue involving CYP450 2D6, which means nothing to me.
446097 tn?1223694666 The problem is I have a MAJOR job interview today and am not feeling well. chills, runny nose, bathroom, etc. I found an Ultracet lying around. Will this help me get through today? I really need to bring my A game.
Avatar f tn Ultracet is a straight up 37.5 tramadol and 325 acitomitophene(sp?
Avatar n tn ( I know I am such a coward) I also asked her dr for some thing for her for pain that was non-narcotic, he told me he would give her ultracet, but then when he was writing out her other meds he apparently forgot to write that one and I didn't say anything. I have heard about ultracet from being here. No thank, you sir!!!!! So here I am, I really thought it would be down hill by now. I knew I wouldn't be anywhere near out of the woods but dang, I just feel crappy right now.
Avatar f tn Not to mention that it is as addictive as any narcotic. So if you are going to take Ultracet (which is tramadol and acetaminophen) and run the risk of becoming dependent on it, you'd be better off going to a pain management doc and getting something stronger (ie, an actual narcotic) that will actually work on the pain. I don't know why he'd prescribe Tramadol 50 in lieu of Ultracet, because it's the exact same drug minus the acetaminophen.
Avatar f tn Anyone out there that can feel me in on Ultracet experiences? My doctor put me on this instead of Hydrocodone today and said that since I take Effexor XR that there is a possibility of seizures. I have researched this since and have read all the medical info but would like to hear from real people and their experiences. I have take Hydrocodone since April of last year, 1 or 2 5/500 a day on average and rarely 3 or 4. There are some days that I have not needed it but most days I do.
1310633 tn?1430224091 There are non narcotic pain medications availble. There is Ultram and Ultracet which is non narcotic medications you could t;l to your doctor about. You can try such medications as Nsaids also. I am not really sure what medications would interfere with your medical problem, you would have to discuss that with your doctor. There is also the alternative pain option too. I will list some of those for you.
1071153 tn?1255369215 why did I stop Ultracet and let it get this far? I keep telling my self I should just go back on the Ultracet. I have been completely blind sinded by this WD's. Nothing physical besides minor issues, but these mental and emotionally feelings are rocking my world. I am so depressed. Depression wasn't even in my vocab. I find the optimisitc side of everything. I can't stand feeling this way and I know with the drop of one pill it will all go away.
439522 tn?1214951189 I've got a question. I'm tapering down from Oxycontin (done a week ago) and now hydrocodone (down to 4 per day- 5mg). Dr. has me on .1 clonidine to help with the physical withdrawal symptoms as we move down. But, today he prescribed me tramadol...with lots of refills and for long term use. I had never heard of it, and the point was that I decided it was time to move off opiates and try some other non-narcotic pain relievers.
Avatar f tn not exactly..oxy in theory is a bit stronger than hydro..and sub is a different type of narcotic than the other 2..but conversoin charts do compare the strength of sub to other narcotics..but it is not really the effect they r comparing//but the strength...i do believe there is a conversion chart in avisg's journal...
Avatar f tn whats ultracet? i know its a pain reliever with tylenol, but does it give you the energy and motivation of vike or percs? I ask because I had to change doctors, and while he wasnt too happy to write for the vicodins i have been on for years, he had no problem with ultracet and he gave me a script.....so im basically asking, do people get addicted to this drug? should i not even start it?
Avatar n tn Correction: other non-opioid pain killer such as arcoxia.
Avatar m tn I believe Ultram and Ultracet are the same. It is 37.5 tramadol and whatever of acetaminophen. I had the generic of Ultracet (have the bottle right in front of me) it is broke down as aceetaminophen and 37.5 tramadol. It is entitled tramadol (generic for Ultracet) but it has the acet/tramadol combination. I was then prescribed straight tramadol which is 50mg tramadol with nothing else added. period. If ultram is different than that is news to me.
Avatar n tn My doc put me on Ultram after I asked to be put on a non narcotic so I could get off the hydros. Then I read about how hard ultram was to withdraw from before I took the first pill and so I made the decision that I would cold turkey from the hydro and skip the ultram. Now I am relearning how to deal with pain. I used to seriously think Ibuprofen was "water" and could not help my pain in the least. But amazingly it does I think more good pain wise than the hydros.
Avatar f tn Oh sweetie, though the drug is different, the story is so common here on the forum....started out for pain, felt great, lead to addiction. I just went through horrid W/D's myself and felt everything you listed...I was on percocet myself, thankfully not for TOO long, but long enough to suffer. I quit cold turkey and had I known the suffering involved with the w/ds I might have tried to taper-might being the key word.
Avatar m tn is tramadol ultram and ultracet all the same an is it as the phramiscits see it non norcotic?
Avatar f tn I am currently 22 wks pregnant and i have also been taking ultracet. My doctor has told me that it was fine. That it wasn't known to cause birth defects but could cause withdrawal symptoms for the baby. How is your baby doing? I am currently taking 2 sometimes 3 a day. Does anyone know if that is bad? Please let me know i mean i feel so guilty for taking this medicine. I'm just hoping there is some light at the end of the tunnel and that i'm not that bad of a person.
Avatar n tn Darvocet is considered a narcotic, whereas Tramodol is not. Therefore if you where on Darvocet forf that many years, you may experience mild withdrawl symptoms. I would work closely with your prescriber on dosing and this medication as Tramodol is not as strong as Darvocet, being that it's not a narcotic. Tramodol, however, is good for pain in that it's great for inflammation.
