Avatar f tn s/fentanyl/morpheines for years. I went through detox and have been on ULTRACET now for about 3-4 years. I have heard about the withdrawl but right now it is working for me and I dont want to go back to where I was at. Someone asked my doesage...to my knowledge there is no dose on ultracet like straight ultram. It is 37.5 tramadol and 325 acetemitaphene. The tylenol is more my concern right now. I am really looking for people who can compare ultram and ultracet usage.
Avatar f tn i just went to the doctor, and he gave me ultracet. does this work for pain and help withdrawl from hydros?
Avatar m tn Still some pain so am taking 3 Ultracet tabs per 24 hours with pretty good pain relief except following 30 minutes on the treadmill and various muscle building exercises and stretches. To calm down those muscles following exercises and stretches I would like to take one 200mg Celebrex daily but one drug interaction cite suggests "Moderate" drug-drug issue involving CYP450 2D6, which means nothing to me.
901372 tn?1242309047 Like morphine, tramadol binds to receptors in the brain (opioid receptors) that are important for transmitting the sensation of pain from throughout the body to. Tramadol, like other narcotics used for the treatment of pain, may be abused. Tramadol is not a nonsteroidal antiinflammatory drug (NSAID) and does not have the increased risk of stomach ulceration and internal bleeding that can occur with NSAIDs.
Avatar f tn I took Ultram years ago for chronic pain. I didn't care for it. I was on it for quite a while. I think I took 2 or 3 a day and I don't remember the dosage. But it did make me feel "high" or something. It wasn't a good feeling at all. When I stopped taking it, I didn't have any wds but from what I've read, a lot of people do.
Avatar f tn i really dont feel any thing other then very mild pain not as bad as it was...so maybe for me this is the answer for now until i try the accupunture next week.
Avatar f tn I have been having left leg pain for approximately 4 years now. After 2 years, my primary care doctor couldn't figure out what was wrong with me so she sent me to a pain clinic. I have been seeing the pain clinic doc for another 2 years now. I have had 2-3 MRI's of my back with nothing found that can explain my pain, aside from some degenerative disk disease and a bulging disk. However, the bulging disk is on the right side and my right leg is not where my pain is.
Avatar n tn I am a music minister in an Evangelical Bible Church and have just had my second back surgery. My back feels great! I had unbearable pain for only a year (not much compared to some of the posters on here (7+ years of back pain, how do you do it?)). Throughout my year of pain, my doctor prescribed me hydrocodone (from 5's to eventually 10's) and tramadol 50mg (which I took with tylenol 50/500 - making it basically generic ultracet).
Avatar n tn How many pills a day or for how long do you think you would need to be on Ultracet/Ultram before you would experience withdrawal symptoms? My husband took about 100 pills in a 2 week period (unknown to me - they were mine!) and he had mysterious stomach cramping/pain around the time he finished them/ran out. Sounds like it was related.
Avatar f tn If you need more hydros to function becuase of w/ds and pain, let your doctor know. THey are more likely to help you then. Ultracet will not treat your pain the same way. It is not a narcotic like hydrocodone/lortab. Good luck...
Avatar n tn I take tramadol for pain in my neck and back. Since I started I have been constipated. Does tramadol cause this? I try to go without laxatives but when I get to the 6th day, I am so uncomfortable that I resort to the laxative. Is this safe for me to do? I have tried metamucil, fruit, stool softeners etc. Nothing works except enema's or stimulant laxatives.
Avatar f tn but he doesnt know about the NEW doctor and the NEW perscription for vicodin I got this morning...So back to hiding it from him. Avatar n tn Can any one tell me what i can possibly take to reduce the back pain and leg pain im getting from a methadone detox, ive tried the common painkillers you can buy over the counter.
Avatar n tn Do Cluster Headaches on the Right side of the head affect the left leg? Also I have read that laying down makes Cluster Headaches worse, Standing, Sitting, and Laying do not help at all. Actually walking is next to impossible for him when he is in severe headache mode because his left leg hurts, and becomes weak. He describes the pain in his head as sharp and pulsating. Please let me know if these are all symptoms of a cluster headache.
Avatar n tn ve gone from all sorts of stomach meds to even Albuterol to now muscle relaxer and Ultracet. The relaxer and Ultracet help some, but the pain is ongoing now and when the drugs wear off; I hurt so bad and I am constantly dizzy and having like vertigo type symptoms, but it's not vertigo. At least once a day I feel as though someone is sticking their finger straight into the middle of my neck above colar bone like I'm choking.
1071153 tn?1255369215 Upon running out, I convinced my Doctor that Ultracet caused the pleurasy and have been given Loratab for low back pain ever since. That has been 2-3 months now. I am now taking 30-60mg a day. Mostly of the evening. It is my reward to myself. Starting noticing that I wanted to take them earlier in the day and looked forward to the next time I would get one. It consumes my thoughts. I have quit and flushed everything before. So I knew it was becoming a problem.
Avatar f tn You should have an open discussion with your obstetrician about your back pain and the medications that you take to relieve your pain. It always helps your doctor to know how you are feeling and what you are actually doing about your pain. As a neonatologist, I do not prescribe medications to mothers during pregnancy, and am not qualified to comment on which medication might be right for you.
Avatar n tn ultracet it highly addictive as well. The withdrawl is VERY bad .
Avatar f tn seven days or more of acute withdrawal symptoms can occur as opposed to typically three or four days for other codeine analogues.
Avatar n tn it also has an anti-depressant quality as well which makes them a humdinger to withdraw from ..habit forming and not super powerful in the pain relief arena but very addictive for many people..there is no tylenol in ultram or tramadol/but ultracet has tylenol in it so liver problems if taking alot of them can be a concern....like cathy said..why do u ask?
446097 tn?1223694666 Well I relapsed a couple of weeks ago but tapered my norcos over the weeked and am now on day 2 clean (yay for me). Avatar n tn I HAVE BEEN TAKING VICODIN FOR MY CHRONIC BACK PAIN AND I WANT OFF OF IT I TALKED TO MY DR AND HE SAID I NEEDED TO GO TO A PSYCHI DR.
398893 tn?1201315707 Hey, Sorry you're in pain and having this problem. I've had problems like this many times. For the first time in years I am getting pain relief. I thnk a good time released med for long term pain is morphine. As far as I"m concerned morphine is the only way to go. There is a lot of Controlled or Timed release types of morphine. I take MS Contin and MSIR. MS contin is a 12 hour release type of morphine.
Avatar f tn Hi Mom, I was addicted to Tramadol for 18 months, with 9+ months of daily abuse. I am still learning about it and am a Vet, having Rx'd it for my own patients. The short of it is, it IS addictive and do NOT believe ANYone telling you it is not. I believe that you have an addiction if you revolve your days and thoughts about when your next dose is, if you get excited to take it, if you seek it out and start doing things you normally would not to get it, things like that.
Avatar f tn I am new to this group and want to know what are normal and abnormal symptoms of withdrawl from tramadol / ultracet. My history is this. I was having severe chronic pain. My doctors at first did not believe me but eventually it was discovered that I had Fibro Myalgia Rheumatic (FMR). Fine, then my rheumatologist gave me the ultracet max 8 a day. After a couple years he cut me loose to have my PCP do the honors as it were. My PCP nearly fainted when he saw how much I was allowed.
Avatar f tn My husband just had his Gallbladder removed and he was addict for 13 years he's been clean for 7 the dr prescribed him Ultracet and he's scared to take it for the pain because of his addictive past. The Dr knew he was a addict and told him they are not addictive but reading online it says it is should he get the script filled or just take OTC meds? If OTC what should he take?
