i had been diagonised with multiple sclerosis in the year 2001. now i am not able to walk. i am also not able to see clearly. my speech is also not clear. i think my type of ms is primary progressive since my condition has worsened gradually. pl suggest some medicines or other alternative therapy.

It is really a shock to get this diagnosis and then you worry when the symptoms are not getting better with treatment. But, please be patient with the treatment as it will eventually work and her symptoms will calm down. Is she still in the hospital? The disease is not curable but it can be slowed down as Deb has already explained.

I am currently on the MS treatment Tysabri. Is there anyone on this treatment that have experienced seizures, blackouts or memory loss?

I have a very mixed reaction to this news - withholding this drug directly affects many people, including a few I know personally, who see this as a 2nd or 3rd line treatment, having failed on others. I have been on record as to how Campath/Lemtrada has been groomed to create huge profits for Genzyme/Sanofi. In this case I do wish the FDA had approved Lemtrada, and left the final INFORMED decision up to the person with MS and their medical team.
