Avatar f tn Got mine today + my pneumonia shot.
Avatar m tn I just recently had the H1N1 vaccine and the following day my right jaw was swollen. Obvisiously this was a big concern for me considering I just had the H1N1 vaccine the night before. I went to my doctor and he told me its a possibility that I have a stone in salivary gland and recommended that I suck on a lemon and he perscribed me some penicillin and if it gets worse I should see him.

875512 tn?1245524526 The H1N1 vaccine is not available yet, and I don't think it's even FDA approved yet. I got the flu shot when I was p/g with DS and I will probably get one this pregnancy also. I am iffy about the H1N1 vaccine. I posted a poll on here not to long ago about it and I'm sure you could do a search for it. But for me, I think it's too new of a vaccine especially for p/g woman to recieve it. I don't know though. I'm going to talk to my OB about it at my next appt.
147426 tn?1317265632 Every year the vaccine manufacturers have just a few months to come up with the vaccine for the prediction that year. H1N1 popped up out of nowhere in the early summer. Yes, the testing of this vaccine was rushed, but the process to make it is tried and true. The swine flu is pretty new to the human species. Apparently it appeared a decade or so ago. So few of us have any resistance to it. Because of this more people will catch it and those that do may have a more severe disease.
Avatar f tn he told me seriously that he has seen the pg women who ended up in the ICU and it scares him that he would rather I take the vaccine with the reported side effects than risk getting H1N1. To those who had it, when did you get your vaccine and did you have any side effects?
478429 tn?1265244387 Also, just as a side note about the H1N1 vaccine that I read about in an Associated Press article yesterday--if you receive the H1N1 vaccine, you will need to get a booster four weeks later. So that is two vaccinations in the period of a month of a vaccine that normally (seasonal flu) only takes one shot.

151928 tn?1275707337 It is important for a pregnant woman to receive the 2009 H1N1 influenza vaccine as well as a seasonal influenza vaccine. A pregnant woman who gets any type of flu is at risk for serious complications and hospitalization. Pregnant women who are otherwise healthy have been severely impacted by the 2009 H1N1 influenza virus (formerly called “novel H1N1 flu” or “swine flu”).
Avatar f tn BCG vaccine, typhoid vaccine [Wikipedia contributors. "Attenuated vaccine." Wikipedia, The Free Encyclopedia. Wikipedia, The Free Encyclopedia, 29 Mar. 2011. The common wisdom seems to be that you should consult your neurologist before taking any live/attenuated vaccine.
Avatar n tn Thank you very much guys..I was asking as I had a hep B vaccine and H1N1 influenza vaccine before my exposure..was just afraid those two vaccines might affect my test result...hopefully teak would see this too!
Avatar f tn Hi , I have taken H1N1 nasal spray vaccine 2 months ago and plan to do HIV test in the next 3 weeks. Is there a possibility that the H1N1 vaccine may result in a false positive HIV elisa blood test?
Avatar f tn I have read a lot of negatives about the H1N1 vaccine, even some really wild conspiracy theories about the government trying to keep population down by putting poison in the vaccine. What do you all feel about it?
Avatar n tn I think this explains my BFS, but, because I have asthma, I want to get the H1N1 vaccine. I also received the flu shot the past 2 years without any problem. I don't necessarily think the seasonal flu shot caused the BFS, but want to know if it should in any way enter into my decision to get the H1N1 vaccine. I am more scared of getting sick and I believe the shot is less dangerous. Thank you for reading this post.
Avatar f tn If you go on Youtube and type in dangers of H1N1 vaccine you will have first hand info on the truth about the vaccine. Myself, I refuse to give it to my family! I try to stay away from large crowds and places where a lot of kids congregate and carry a lot of sanitizer. Supplement with vitamin D, C and Probiotics! That's how I'm preventing the flu.

571042 tn?1271447141 Ok can someone explain to me why there is concern over the H1N1 shot? How I understand flu shots in general is they pick the strain that they expect to be bad the following flu season and they use that strain to make the vaccine. I thought they just did the same thing with the H1N1 strain but they have to have it in a different shot because they had already made the seasonal flu shot and they couldn't go back and add the H1N1 to the vaccine. So...
Avatar f tn My wife developed pain from Parsonage Turner Syndrome three days after reciveing the H1N1 vaccine. Her pain remains severe in the arm particularly. Her symptoms are classic for PTS and other causes appear very less likely based on w/u to date. MRI of plexus and neck all normal 2 weeks into symptoms. Minimal weekness yet. Interesting I beliew she had Swine flu months before her sho occurred. How atypical is it to have this degree of pain )9 out of 10 pain) three weeks after onset of symptoms.
Avatar m tn Ask your doctor if the tiredness, etc. is a known effect of the flu vaccine. I had the H1N1 shot and did not have any side effect other than a slightly sore arm at the injection site.
Avatar m tn ll probably not get Season vaccine since the vast majority is currently H1N1 and Seasonal vaccine is hard to find now. But, we will go for the H1N1 vaccine when available. As Viaduk says, we will avoid the nasal stuff and wait for the injectable. My son (on campus will for sure get it, probably sooner). The rest of the family is lower risk so we may be waiting a while.
Avatar f tn my baby is 9 months and she had the h1n1 shot yesterday..she got fever of of that..then today she vomit once but it was a lot....then i was giving her a bath and she looke like she was falling as sleep..is that normal since she got the h1n1 vaccine? This discussion is related to 8 month old baby fainted in my arms and we don't know why.
127124 tn?1326735435 There is no terrible mystery about the H1N1 vaccine. It is developed and brought to market like the flu vaccine is every year. Every year, the regular flu "shot" changes in response to the virus that is expected to be circulating the next year.
