Common Questions and Answers about Tysabri antibody elisa test

tysabri

Avatar m tn if your test is third generation ELISA OR EIA which detects all hiv subtypes, then it is conclusive at or after 12 weeks. third generation elisa test not ony detects Ig G but also IgM which is the first antibody produced in response to antigen(hiv virus). after 6 weeks of infection more than 99% will test positive and at or after 12 weeks a third generation test would definintely exclude infection.
572651 tn?1530999357 I've been tested twice in the last year, and they were both negative. Since you can acquire JCV at any time, I opt to have my status tested once a year since I'm on Tysabri. There is also a Tysabri antibody titre available, now. I plan on doing that once a year, too, although development of Tysabri antibodies is relatively rare.
Avatar f tn Hiye, this may seem a silly question but is the Elisa test that is used for HIV the same as the Elisa test used for rheumatoid arthritis?.. Is the Elisa just a standard antibody test that is not disease specific and if reactive then a specific test is used?..
Avatar n tn elisa will detect antibody in blood as long the test was done after 3 month post exposure.. after 13 years??
Avatar f tn I had blood work done about 1 week before infusion #4 and found out last week that my tysabri antibodies test came back positive. Going tomorrow to see the dr for next step. Anyone have this experience of developing antibodies so quickly? What meds have been offered after tysabri?
Avatar m tn I was offered Gilenya when I had problems with Tysabri (which turned out to be something other than Tysabri that caused it) and after reading the cardiac warnings and other side effects, chose not to take it. Tysabri has a wonderful financial support program. They fully donated my first 4 months of Tysabri until I could get an insurance program in place. Tysabri is considered an "outpatient" procedure and under my insurance, is paid for now at 100%.
Avatar n tn I had a risk exposure with a unknon status CSW 3 months ago. After the 3 months I had done a HIV DUO Quick (p24 & abc) test in a private lab. The test result came out negetive. . HIV DUO Quick (p24 abc) test is a acqurate test at 3 months? But I did not done HIV 1&2 antibody ELISA Test. Need HIV 1&2 Anitbody (Elisa) to conclusive? Still I have skin rash, dry cough, white tongue and night sweat.
Avatar f tn how accurate is a negative elisa test 3 weeks post risky exposure for a woman (unprotected sex) with a hiv positive man? my doctor says its 100% accurate, is this true....
Avatar m tn Can HIV ANTIBODY TEST(ELISA<HIV ! & ANTIBODY) test after 6 months fi fully conclusive????? I hb done ELISA test aftr 6 mnths of exposure???? Can I be 100% confident tat I m HIV negetive as the test came back non reactive with ANTIBODY 0.020 OD........will I have to test aftr ! yr?
Avatar n tn so you think that a ELISA HIV TEST Third generation at 4 week is quite good indicator?
Avatar m tn Third or fourth generation ELISA antibody test alone is enough and conclusive, when done after 3 months mark. WB test is ordered mostly when ELISA comes positive.
Avatar m tn a duo test at 4 weeks or an antibody test at 6 weeks will give you a very good indication of your status. follow up at 3 MONTHS for a conclusive result.
Avatar m tn a) Antibody to HSV - IgG (ELISA) Observed values Negative (/=16to22Ru/ml Positive ) b) Antibody to HSV IgM (Elisa) Observed Values 4.41 RU/ml -> Negative (/=16to22Ru/ml Positive ) The Doctor told me the results were just fine and I needn't worry. And that there was no need to get tested again. Today I noticed these small white spots around the rim of my penis. Also, I feel a mild pain in the groin area. Does this look like Herpes?
Avatar f tn Is HIV screening test (using blood sample) is a standard antibody test for HIV ???
Avatar n tn I took an Elisa test and it was positive and I took a Western Blot test and it was negative. The syphilis test was negative. So I am taking another Elisa, Western Blot and PCR test. What are my chances of these tests being positive???
Avatar m tn It's an ELISA test.
Avatar n tn This is true if even if they have cleared the Hepatitis C virus. A reactive antibody test requires an additional, follow-up test to determine if a person is currently infected with Hepatitis C http://www.cdc.gov/knowmorehepatitis/LearnMore.htm But pcr-rt (quantitative) is negative.am I infected with hcv? No Is it possible for someone to become infected with HCV and then spontaneously clear the infection? Yes.
Avatar m tn A DUO (combo) test (antibody and antigen) is conclusive at 28 days post exposure. A standard antibody test (ELISA) would be definitive at 3 months post exposure.
Avatar m tn As far as I am aware it is a reliable 4th generation test. The time you took it is also the proper and the result is conclusive.
Avatar m tn So in short less then a month or during ARS, PCR RNA tests is best (9 -11 days after the exposure) but after a month a PCR DNA test would be best, but at this point an Elisa test would work just as good and without the risk of false positive which would make most people here go crazy. 6. RNA PCR is for early detection, test at the 14 th day after the exposure backed up by an antibody test at the 12th week is good enough to rule out HIV.
Avatar m tn Secondly, you need a test at the 3rd month with an antibody test. Could be ELISA, CMIA, ELFA etc. As long as it is an antibody test it works. ELISA is just the technology of the test used to detect antibody. However, it's the most conventional technology and widely used. Thirdly, oraquick is an antibody test and uses the ELISA technology.
