I was in a car accident and have pain in my neck, maybe even where you are speaking
of. I was fortunate to see both an excellent physical
therapist and
massage therapist. This really helped me. Stress now triggers that neck pain and headaches. And when I say neck, the muscles behind my ear go into the back of my head and that is where I feel the pain. For me, it is on one side. And again, it flairs up with stress, anxiety, when I'm tired, driving long distances, etc.
