Factor V Leiden is the name of a specific mutation that results in thrombophilia, or an increased tendency to form abnormal blood clots in blood vessels. People who have the Factor V Leiden mutation are at somewhat higher than average risk for a type of clot that forms in veins, such as the deep veins of the legs (deep venous thrombosis), or a clot that travels through the bloodstream and lodges in the lungs (pulmonary embolism).
D-Dimer which is a type of fragment from FDP that's ordered sometimes to ck blood clotting. I'm not a lab tech or Dr. but they must have an idea as to what they're looking for. My first guess from discription is large Urticaria that appear from something body is attacking. These spots will itch bad & many times disappear & move to a new location. They're pretty easy to dx by look but not the culprit. It's an internal allergy. Sometime elevated is good.
I am having blood results tomorrow for blood clotting disorders......I have to go to Quest labs. I hope I get them back quickly. I think if you go to your own office you should get results quick. My office is always the same day for IVF blood work. Good Luck!!
either they get sticky and can cause some clotting issues, or they can be slippery and cause more trouble with clotting. I bleed a lot, bruise fairly easily, so I'd guess the second option for me. Like I said, I took a quick look, so if anyone has more information, bring it on! Of course, I'll probably have to wait and see what the doc says about all of the pieces of the puzzle together; I skipped over the part about what horrible diseases can cause test results out of range.
-) I've been doing lots of research this last week and this site seems to be a wealth of knowledge. My story--An overall healthy 32 y/o female. Last Monday as I was responding to an email, I started with bright halos/aura in my eyes, very bright--I then realized I could not read what I had just typed and could not figure out what words I wanted to type next. My right hand then went numb and the numbness travelled up my right arm and into my face/cheek/teeth/tongue.
and I don't know if this is relevant or not but I have a low haemoglobin ( did a blood test recently ) and I'm blood type O negative... The doctor there advised me to take a pill for the low blood count - Haemup Gems ..I take this pill whenever I remember, not quite sure its helping though... Oh and I did go to the doctor, She said it was coz' of my weight gain, and that i should try to lose weight... there was some discharge from my nipple, and she didn't say anything more on that matter...
for the factor V test, it is another type of clotting disorder. My girlfiend had to be on blood thinners also because of that. I am on blood thinners and extra Folic Acid because of MTHFR. Did your DH send the bug up here? DH and I have been feeling poopy all weekend, but still managed to go shrimping. ....hmmm... safety bars on the windows? Was that to keep people out or in? Did he offer you a new wardrobe at the same time - like an orange jumpsuit? Tijuana and Milky..... oooooooh....
You might have entro but I had clotting, and I didn't. Don't feel embarassed for asking. The darkish brown blood is old blood. Sometimes they give females D&C's to clean them out, but since you are only 17 I wouldn't think you need that. Being on pill can help it though.
Omega 3 Fatty Acids Omega 3 fatty acids are involved in the regulation of heart rate, blood pressure, and blood clotting.
Also, with Von Willenbrands, you would bleed SEVERELY when you have your menses. There are clotting disorders that can be checked with blood tests ordered by your doctor. I look at the broken blood vessels as a pain in the butt, or should I say, hand. I do a lot of physical work with my hands and also row crew and run. My B/p runs low and my HR is low. I think the vessels just might get a small laceration from work and then break when pressure increases from being in a dependent position.
The cortisone is there to avoid inflammation and yet the blood patch relies on clotting. As a male with large inter-vertabrae spaces, the likelihood of clotting is less. The clotting relies on tighter spaces to collect and congeal. The cortisone lowers the immune response. The cortisone masks the initial symptoms making detection slower. But with so many other risks like continual CSF leakage creating pressure on the brain, bruising and potential blood clots and stroke...
org/cgi/content/abstract/124/3/468 Since ON is so closely related to MS and it's not ischemic, if I was to place bets, you've have CIS. However, there is the issue with the blood-clotting disorder that you have (but again your doc is saying it can't be ischemic . . . ). I forget which one you have. Anti-phospholipid syndrome can be hard to differentiate with MS. However, note that if you have positive VEP, it's unlikely APS causing the problem (see the article).
i had sexual intercourse about 7 or 8 times before seeing a doctor. the same occurred except for 2 times, in which no blood appeared. but the majority of times blood came out in the sperm, or only after ejaculation during urination, or both in the sperm and the urine. once i woke up without having had sex that week and urinated blood. i tested my blood, sperm, and urine and the only abnormality was a high psa level. my dr said it is very rare and is that high in 40/50 year old.
Simple question here, has anyone ever had a negative blood test and negative urine test and went on with their daily routine and a month or so later found out you were in fact pregnant while having ultrasound done. If this has happened to anyone or perhaps someone you know, please respond, I'd appreciate the information. Thanks.
At the same time, its disease-free advantages, the most important issue of exclusion would also avoid blood transfusion, but also to create O-all type of Rh-negative blood can be used.” Janna told Peter King, reporter of AGGP media center: “A dormant cells in the blood of man-made invention was accidental, it is different from restricted the hematopoietic stem cell research in the United States today. I had a roommate in college that had a blood clotting disease. She m/c 4 times in a row before she found out about it. She ended up taking some pills that the doctor prescribed when she was pregnant for the 5th time (I never knew if she was ttc or using her disease as a type of birth control, she's the kind that would do that, sad, I know). So, apparantly there is medicine out there that helps when you're ttc and have this disease. I don't know the name of the pills, but I'm sure your doc.
I am o neg and have had the shot during every pregnancy. I had it at 6 weeks this preg and will have it again sometime before baby is born..I believe on 9/9 at my 28 week appointment. It is very normal because the risk of death in mother or child is high (according to my doctor) if the blood mixes.
When you have distinct O pains, is that O in the process or can you get them a day before? Also, if you have a positive OPK, that means you will O within the next 24 hours right, not like in the next few days? I am second guessing my O day this month although I had a pos. OPK the day before and O pains that day. Thanks in advance ladies. Feel free to ask other questions if we run out of room today.
Factor V Leiden thrombophilia is an inherited disorder of blood clotting. The risk of developing a clot in a blood vessel depends on whether a person inherits one or two copies of the factor V Leiden mutation. Inheriting one copy of the mutation increases by fourfold to eightfold the chance of developing a clot. People who inherit two copies of the mutation, one from each parent, may have up to 80 times the usual risk of developing this type of blood clot.
I m ORh- and my husband is ORh+ all of our kids are + so i already know that i need the Rh imuglobin (ya think its spelled wrong)the Dr have done genetic test you name it and they cant tell me why i keep m/c i did ask if it was because of my blood group and they said no because i have not been sensitized i sort of understand it all still working on it all

As the other lady mentioned above, u really need to find out what blood type u are, It's ur blood type is positive then ur fine, but if your negative, then u need to get the injection, in theory u need to have this done before ur 12 weeks pregnant, because from around week 12 ur blood mixes with ur baby and if ur a negative blood type and the baby is positive, then this causes big problems, which causes miscarriage.

1) CSF = cerebral spinal fluid 2) serum = blood minus the cells and clotting factors Only three of the results fall outside the given reference ranges. PROTEIN, CSF 69.9 Range (15 - 45) ALBUMIN, CSF 32.7 Range (<=27.0) IGG SERUM 750 Range (767 – 1590) None of them seem way out of range but in general the CSF protein level might increase from things like bleeding, nerve inflammation, or injury.
Blood plasma is the liquid component of blood, in which the blood cells are suspended. Serum is the same as blood plasma except that clotting factors (such as fibrin) have been removed." -Captain_DNA- the serum is obtained after coagulation of blood (and centrifugation to get rid of cells).
