I'm still up, day 3 of wd's. yesterday was horrible; body aches, twitching etc. But I managed to fall asleep for several hours last night, after no sleep the night before. And today, i was tired, but no pain or tension, and I thought I was done. but it all came back tonight. It's 5:30am and still no sleep. by body is real twitching and achey. I have some promethazine, it's a antihistimine, used for treating nausea.

and i am very aware that it has become a addiction considering it started with lke 4 teaspoons a day of tussionex and ive been taking klodipin fo over 6 years will this effect my withhdrawl from the hycodan and tussionex and the hydrocodone pills is promethazine affective i have bunch of 25 mg pill he never game me the liquid prometh with codiene is that what i should ask for what is a good way to go about this

I am hopefully going to start treatment AGAIN for tussionex withdrawal and treatment. Pray for me. Any suggestions or any other people out there like me? I am so alone.

sober 20+ years in 12 step program. Take Tussionex for chronic cough, 1 tsp. per day. I don't abuse it by taking more. But, if I don't take it every day I start to feel like I am getting the flu. Is that withdrawal, just the level in my blood is dropping off after 24 hours? Would appreciate anyone's input, especially if you have experience. Thanks and bless you all. I agree with the doctor that I had a reaction to the Tussionex, but I'm wondering why it affected me so long after I initially took it (I didn't have any symptoms for the first 7-8 hours). I have a bottle of Tussionex since the last time i was pretty sick. It was filled may 15 2008 and Im not sure what the expiration date is on it. would it be fine to take?

Had all the allergy shots available on the planet (allergies to dust/dust mites) and today, I read about Tussionex. I control my blood pressure very well with Adalat once a day. I'll be seeing my GP on April 8. I pray that Tussionex (taken only 8 hours or 12 hours prior to my show/s as opposed to taking the narcotic regularly - that's scary) would be permissible for me even when taking Adalat.

I took Tussionex for the first time at 11:00 pm after I took a Levaquin at 10:00 pm. I have bronchitis. I awoke suddenly from my sleep at 2:00 am and had no breath - and could not speak or call my husband although I was trying to say 'help'. Last night and today, I have relapsed yet again on Tussionex. For the past two weeks, I have felt nothing but excruciating pain in my heart from so many losses. My divorce, my ex boyfriend and my recent ex boyfriend. Then, I used last night. I took a tablespoon of the tussionex and I felt numb. I felt happy. I felt like I didn't want to kill myself. I went to the ER on Sunday night, and was prescribed Phenagren for nausea, and when it was filled at the pharmacy they gave me Promethazine. I read about it and their not exactly sure of side effects on the fetus but said its okay to take before 38weeks gestation.. Well, even with my reservations about taking it, I have been, as prescribed, but the last two days, it hasn't worked! I've been throwing up EVERYTHING once again!

m allergic to zofran but promethazine has always worked for me. The thing about it is that it just stops you from puking, it won't stop you from being nauseous. So you may still feel sick as hell. That's why I'm happy that it knocks me out. Sleeping helps.

Hi there. I never thought in a million years I would be here, I mean at the point I am at and searching for help in this area, thats for sure. But drug addiction apparantly has no boundaries, rich or poor, young or old-it can happen to anyone. But for me, i feel especially guilty because I am a mother to 5 great children who dont deserve the bad mood and the way I am while I am trying to come off this RX addiction.

My addiction started around 1 1/2 to 2 years ago when I had a chronic cough and was given Tussionex - wow how I loved that stuff. It totally stopped my coughing and made you feel great. I took that stuff for heck months...until I was diagnosed with arthritis in my lower back - well as luck would have it I was prescribed Vicodin with has the same crap in it as the cough medicine Tussionex had. Well long story short I have finally come to my senses and gave it all up. I can do it...

Any other mommys been prescribed promethazine for nausea/vomiting?

For OTC cough syrup, I use Delsym (Dextromethorphan polistirex) or Mucinex (Guaifenesin). I've never had a problem with either, and I'd consider myself fairly sensitive to cold medications. When I need the big guns, I get my PCP to prescribe Tussionex (chlorpheniramine and hydrocodone) aka. "Liquid Gold". I love this stuff. It's expensive, hence the name. But you WILL stop coughing, and you WILL sleep!

About a month ago I did something extremely stupid, I took about 80ml of promethazine. It knocked me out and the next day I was having very bad tremors and fever like symptoms. About 24 hours later I called poison control and was told if I made it this far I was fine because promethazine has a short halflife. About two weeks later the tremors went away. Now that I am back at college the tremors have came back and are worse. I think I might have brain atrophy or essential tremor.

s be clear about form of promethazine as it comes in a liquid mainly for cough medicine promethazine w/codeine (promethazine w/codeine syrup is highly abused in our country) plain promethazine syrp, promethazine vc syrp and pill form. Zofran comes in a liquid as well, dissolvable tablets (AKA odt), and regular tablets. I would ask my doc for zofran, my friend took it for her full 9 months, she had morning sickness her entire pregnancy 24/7.

You probably can take them together as they are different types of medication. Promethazine is for nausea and percocet is for pain. They will make you extremely sleepy, so be in bed and ready to rest. Hope you feel better soon.
