I'll be seeing my GP on April 8. Give this tapering with your Dr. your best shot I know you can do it! Just resolve yourself to the fact you HAVE to get through this and once you start feeling better just think you NEVER have to do it again!! i understand you can't leave the house I don't remember suggesting that?? I have a 2 yr old and she got me through alot of the hard days (I can't imagine what your going through with 5!!!

For OTC cough syrup, I use Delsym (Dextromethorphan polistirex) or Mucinex (Guaifenesin). I've never had a problem with either, and I'd consider myself fairly sensitive to cold medications. When I need the big guns, I get my PCP to prescribe Tussionex (chlorpheniramine and hydrocodone) aka. "Liquid Gold". I love this stuff. It's expensive, hence the name. But you WILL stop coughing, and you WILL sleep!

Are you trying to get off of all these medications for good? It sounds like [in your second post here] you're trying to find a way to ask for another type of codeine cough syrup.

So, any medication that has opioids and drugs that are addictive you should use with caution. A lot of people get easily addicted to codeine in cough syrup as well and this drug is similar.

Dont end up liek soo many ppl I know and hear about every day, I would love to help you get a taper plan to get off of the vicodin. It ahsnt been to long and the wds will pass within a week, you jsut have to set up a tapering schedule that fits your needs and your bodies reaction/wds. It is definitely doable and I would be more than happy to work with you and come up with a schedule or anything else you amy need.

Some people have abused it to get high. My concern about they way you are questioning is that you have not truly committed yourself to getting clean. I may be reading between the lines, but that is way I see. It takes 110% mental attitude to be successful. I can't remember what you were on, but methadone or even sub should be used as a last resort after you have tried other means to get yourself clean. This again is my opinion.
