I was hoping you guys could help me.I was having some minor stomach issues. swallowing was a little hard, so I went to the DR. We did a endoscope. He found: H. Pylori associated moderate chronic gastritis with some signs of intestinal metaplasia. Right now I'm taking the Prevpac (triple therapy) for the bacterium. Will this type of gastritis eventually resolve itself when the bacterium is removed?

I have found this previously and it is very helpful - the only thing that concerned me is that this person is not using Incivek so therefore, I do not know if all of the side effects are common to the triple therapy rather than the combo treatment. Thanks!

Hey guys........anyone doing or has done triple therapy with Teleprivir/Incivek? I was pretty sick last time I tx'd just on Peg/Riba and heard the third one makes you even sicker. I am terrified and have been acting a winmpy girl and been crying because I know all the crap I will have to endure AGAIN. That being said, also heard the SVR rate is awesome....

t think I could do that on treatment. But everyone is different. Some people have few side effects. I have some side effects but they are manageable. Another tip is to do the injection on Friday nights (if you have the weekends off). I do mine on Mondays because I like to be able to do things on the weekends. That way I have a couple of days to rest after the injections before having to do anything. There is help for the costs of the meds.

s side effects from Interferon (cold/flu like symptoms) usually started within about 6 hrs after his injection. Side effects from Ribavirin usually occurred every day (fatigue). His side effects from Incivek occurred within the first few days to a week (diarrhea, anal pain), and the rash showed up about the middle of week 2. The side effects from Interferon and Ribavirin were manageable, the side effects from Incivek were a bit more challenging, but still manageable.

It's only day 3, and I am worry that we are doing everything like it's supposed to be. My mom supposed to have one injection on Monday, Ribavirin (200 mg) 2 in the morning and 3 in the evening and Telaprevir (375mg) 3 in the morning and 3 in the evening..

I start Triple Therapy tomorrow and I am absoluteky TERRIFIED!!! Im only 26 but have an infant and 4 year old and while medicaid is gonna pay for my meds I figure I better jump on it! Im taking the following medicines: Ribavirin 200mg tablet, INCIVEK 375mg tablet, & Pegintron Redipen 120mcg My nurse said first few shots would be rough but I read this not to be true, that they get worse and worse the further u go along!!

God help you I finished my two weeks triple antibiotic course two weeks ago and I still suffer from the side effects. The metal taste will go away with time don’t worry. No matter what happens don’t stop the medication. The worst thing that happened to me was the mood swings and depression I got from the antibiotics I even developed a hairy tongue that went away in few days with out any medication and now I have a dry mouth. Again no matter what don’t stop the medication it's for your good.

I am in week 4 of the Olysio/Sovaldi combo therapy and am disappointed at the side effects I'm experiencing. Prior to starting the treatment I was very encouraged by what I was finding on the boards, especially after two bad experiences with interferon treatment and an allergic reaction to ribavirin. i to had that about 25 years ago, i had lots stomack problems with it , like hurt but my most was i had lots air in chest. burps but the air never went away. i was on meds for a month and drank pep (pink stuff) 1/2 cup every night it help kill it and it got better , there are times i still think i get it when i have days of burps and air in chest. no i never had the bleeding with mine or mucus, i wouldcall dr.

t know which treatment you are on (SOC or triple med treatment). If you are on triple med treatment there may be more side effects (but there may not). Everyone is different and everyone responds to treatment differently. I think many of us expected to be a lot sicker a lot sooner than we were. Some people don't feel any side effects from the pills right away. Some don't feel side effects from the injections.

Traci, the drug pack can have a number of adverse side-effects. Fatigue and bowel habit changes can be some of them. But do check with your doc to make sure he/she knows what's going on.

I want to reinforce what has been posted about treating side effects aggresively and not waiting. For hub, the mental side effects have been hard. He is currently taking wellbutrin and ativan. Feelings of doom and hopelessness can come on very quickly, so if you are not on an antidepressant talk with your provider about the warning signs.

All these symptoms have ether totally or mostly subsided. I am getting the expected side effects but they are much less intense than in my previous experiences. Hi , I am 54, genotype 1a and about to start triple therapy ! I must admit I'm scared of the side effects - but more worried about letting the Hep C virus remain in my body .. I am healthy and am going to try and remain positive ( hard to do when you're vomiting on the bathroom floor for days on end as one of my friends was ) . Has anyone managed to keep exercising and generally get through treatment with not too many side effects .

I am on week one treating type A and feeling really bad side effects. I feel almost ready to do something drastic. I called the psychologist at the clinic and she said that the side effects are worse in the first week. Is this true? Or am I looking at 48wks of feeling so sick I can hardly walk and feeling like my head is going to explode never mind the crazy emotional stuff talk about the blues!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! H.Pylori leads to Peptic Ulcer disease, which needs to be managed with 'Triple Therapy' consisting of Antibiotics(Amoxicillin and Clairithromycin), Proton Pump Inhibitors (Omeprazole or Rabeprazole), may also include Ulcer Protective Gels like Sucralfate,Irsogladine etc,antacids,Adjuvants like Okrin may also help.In case of resistant bacteria,Amoxcillin can be replaced by Metronidazole and other combinations of H2 antagonists and mucosal protective agents and multi vitamins help a lot.

I just want to avoid the possibility of C.Diff. or any other problems pertaining to side effects of the antibiotics.
