Common Questions and Answers about Trileptal missed dose

trileptal

Avatar f tn I am supposed to start trileptal this morning but worried about the side effects particularly dizzines. Has anyone had these symptoms? what are the likelyhood that I would become dizzy and nauseas while taking trileptal? I will be starting out w/ 150mg twice daily for 3 days then increasing?
471949 tn?1236904026 Once we started oxrate, the seizures are under control and the memory disturbances are seen only when we increased the dose. He is stable at that dose of 900mg twice a day and right now his memory is alright as well. Apart from a bit of disorientation we haven’t observed any other side effect.
Avatar n tn Can anyone tell me at what dose of trileptal you got some relief from the constant crawling, burning, crushing type pains? Also does the side effect of nausea and just feeling crappy all over from trileptal eventually subside. I also have MS. Thank you. I am hoping and praying that this drug will help. I am scared that there may not be another option as my MS neuro is advising against surgery, including gamma knife.
Avatar m tn I was on Trileptal for a while. After that my psychiatrist transferred me to Lamictal. It took some time to have the withdrawal symptoms to pass (and the efficacy of the other medication to start) but it settled after some time. Generally things begin to improve within a few weeks. As long as you followed your psychiatrist's titration schedule it should be fine. Keep your psychiatrist updated on how you are doing and they will know how to follow up.
1374874 tn?1278686480 With all of the anti-seizure meds (gabapentin, Tegretol, Trileptal, etc) you have to increase the dose slowly according to your doctor's instructions to get pain relief. That said, I did not do well on Tegretol -- it made me a zombie and did not help my pain. But everyone is different. I ended up on Trileptal -- it has less side effects than Tegretol. I took 3 doses of 600 mg per day to stop my pain.
Avatar m tn I am on Tecfidera 240 mg dose. It just occurred to me I missed the morning dose. I have a call into the specialty pharmacy for direction. I didn't find much on the web except "take it as soon as you remember and if close to your next dose take it then but don't double up". This is the first time I missed since starting therapy last month. I feel terrible. Is this incredibly bad?
427555 tn?1267553158 If someone missed synthroid for 4 days, is it ok to take all the missed doses together? A friend went away and forgot their synthroid medication at home.
Avatar f tn Do I still take the ribavirin pills since I missed the dose? After 4 weeks I was tested and no virus was showing so I am worried that this is going to be a set back. I am anemic as well. Just need to know what to do??? Hep clinic closed for weekend as is doc office and pharmacist had no clue. Anyone been through this?
Avatar m tn now the doc wants to put me back on low dose lithium along with a med to protect my kidneys and monitor them closely. i am curently on trileptal and seroquel but still have anxiety and hypomania. i don;t know what to do. has anyone had similar experiences with ect and/or with low dose lithium?
Avatar f tn Is anyone on here taking Trileptal for bipolar? Any comments or results?
738075 tn?1330575844 I woke up with Trigeminal Neuralgia last Thursday morning. I knew that was what it was, because I had it once seven years ago. This time it's SO much worse! I told myself I'd "tough it out" for the weekend, even though I did put in a call to my neurologist. By Sunday, it was so bad, I was in tears! I told my DH "just take me out back and shoot me like an old horse!" I was kidding, but kinda serious, too!
Avatar n tn Alex gave you a wonderful answer. Trileptal can be very effective against nerve pain for some people with MS (and people with nerve pain from other causes as well). The fact that your symptoms returned when you were weaned off the drug is a good sign that it's working for what ails you. I'm glad it is still being prescribed for you. If you feel comfortable sharing, has the Trileptal helped symptoms in addition to pain for you?
Avatar f tn so i missed my dose of rivoferion last night fell asleep noticed this morning that i didnt take it. so nov.11th is is my last dose,by missing this dose did i just screw up my tx.i sure hope not!!!! and this is the first x.
1100992 tn?1262357216 The best thing to do is tirate the dose up slowly. Now I have no side effects at all from the tablets. It did a very good job at managing symptoms for about 5 years or so and then failed to hold back a manic episode that occured last year triggered by a job that required irregular night shifts. I needed the extra help of seroquel with that one. I would say that it has been a good mood stabiliser, but with time (years) the effectiveness has decreased for me. Hope this helps.
Avatar f tn Hi, I'm new to the sight but have been doing research on Trileptal and MS. I currently take Trileptal for Partial Seizures (my seizures are well controlled with it) but whenever I miss 2 doses in a row (which I obviously try not to), I experience numbness and tingling in my face and head. I know these are symptoms of MS and I know Trileptal can be used for MS patients to help with nerve issues. I guess my question is should I see my neurologist?
4980051 tn?1361868778 I started at 150 and after receiving some benefit, decided along w/ my neurologist to increase the dose to 300 mg 2x/day. This dose has significantly reduced my # of h/a days per month as well as reducing the number of intractable h/z per month. (the kind that does not respond to treatment). Although I have experienced a few SE's such as decreased appetite and nervousness, they have lessened over time and neither were nearly as incapacitating as having a mad migraine.
Avatar f tn I gained about twenty pounds on Trileptal, (a very similar drug), in just a month, and now I am also switching to Zonegran. I'm still in the process of raising my dose, but thrilled that it's working well for your daughter!
Avatar m tn I withdrew of off the trileptal first and the geodon second. As i started withdrawing off of the trileptal i started to feel numb in my head. It is now about nine months later and the same annoying feeling is still there. My question is if withdrawing from the medication in the way i did was the cause of this numbness. I was on this medication for about six months prior to that with no numbness or bad side effects, just the inability so sit still and focus.
Avatar m tn just one missed dose will do nothing, i also remember tdf halflife is very long so even a missed dose is safer on this drug
Avatar n tn I missed taking my zoloft by 15 hours. (I'm supposed to take my 50mg at 12 midnight and I didn't remember until 3pm the next day). I took the missed dose at that time (3pm)....I JUST NOW relized that I should have just waited until tonight at 12midnight to take it. So, since I took it at 3pm, what should I do? If I take it at the scheduled time tonight then that would be 2 doses in just 9 hours. How do I get back on schedule of taking it at 12 midnight?
Avatar f tn No, if he missed a dose yesterday, then he missed that dose. Do not try to make it up today. Ribavirin has a long half life so his blood level should be okay as long as he does not keep missing doses.
Avatar m tn DO IT NOW...dont wait...BTW....im noticing my mouth feeling weird since i took the missed dose...and my lips are shedding some skin....nothing serious......it also maybe those salt and vinager chips i ate 2 days ago...o well...of to the employment office.....
577132 tn?1314266526 Yup. GB is right. It won't matter that you missed a dose. If you'd been in the first few weeks it might have made a difference, but not now. The official literature from Roche for Copegus says that if you remember on the same day, take the missed dose when you remember, otherwise consult your doctor. It's not bad advice. You could give your doc (or the nurse) a call.
393419 tn?1228447393 I just returned from a conference where this was discussed. The doctor says take the missed dose as soon as you can, then resume your normal schedule. Synthroid is in our system for an extended time, so missing one is not going to upset things too much. Even two missed doses can be taken together.
Avatar f tn I missed a dose once and I had no problem. my progesterone level was good.
Avatar f tn I take 1.25mg of clonazepam daily- 0.25mg during the day and 1mg at night. Last night I fell asleep and woke up at 5am to find out that I've missed last night's dose. I immediately took 0.5mg- i didn't want to take the whole 1mg because that would bring today's total to 2.25mg, instead of 1.25mg. Do you think I'm going to have problems today? Thank you.
847195 tn?1296171647 You are not the only one who has ever missed a dose!! So don't beat yourself up over it...and you are not "stupid" : ) We all have done it one time or another. You will feel better, trust me!!!! Been there and done that!
