I have no idea when the impotence might go away. But if you look at the list below, you may begin to understand WHY he has sexual difficulties. I know he no longer takes Paxil, which eliminates ONE potential source of the problem, but I don't know the half-life of Paxil and it could still be in his system, albiet a small quantity.That still leaves 3 of the 4 meds that have possible sexual side effects.

The half-life of a drug is how long it takes for half of it to be eliminated from the bloodstream. Hope that helps.

It has a very long half life, though I can't give you specifics. The dose and how long you were on it does factor in. Your doctor should be able to help you with your questions on this.

Being female -- I can't answer your question about ED. I do know that I tried gabapentin -- didn't work, Tegretol (Carbamezepine) didn't work. But Trileptal worked well. It DID cause nausea and drowsiness. The pain doc said to take it a half-hour to an hour before eating and that resolve the nausea. He also advised taking a No-Doz (equal to 1 cup of coffee) along with the daytime doses -- and that took care of most of the drowsiness.

decided to quit taking it on a monday felt fine all week untill sun when i went into serious withdrawl! so as far as half life im not sure? but you can bet i was back on it mon! so i guess it was in my system for 6 days after i stopped. p.s.

?? Does anyone know the Half life of SUBOXONE - Beprenorphine.? I HEARD it was 70 hours, but that's what I heard....unsure if that is even accurate?

whats the half life for syntriod. about how much time does it take to build up in you and also leave your system?

Due to the severe burning sensation I have in my hands from my current MS flare up, my neuro has put me on Trileptal. I have read great things about this med in regards to TN but not much about peripheral nerves. Anyone have any experience with this med for burning sensation NOT on the face? Hope you all are well!!

The pain was an 11 on the 0-10 scale. Since the pain has only calmed down to a 7, my neuro added trileptal with the neurontin. The trileptal is being titrated and I'm at 750 mgs per day right now. Can anyone tell me at what dose of trileptal you got some relief from the constant crawling, burning, crushing type pains? Also does the side effect of nausea and just feeling crappy all over from trileptal eventually subside. I also have MS. Thank you.

After 3 months, I am down to 900 mg of Trileptal, 2 mg Xanax, and 150 mg daily, down from 1800 mg daily of TRileptal originally, and a VERY slow introduction of Lamictal into my system. Of course this happens on the weekend, otherwise I would have called the pdoc by now-- anyway, let me know. Help is appreciated!

You are taking a higher dose than is effective, if you would like me to share the research that explains all about 32mg ceiling effect of subs and half-life accumulation, let me know. Your high dose could be part of the issue you are having with other meds, but there is no proof either way. I am faiy educated on whT there is to know about that opioid.

I am on 900mg of trileptal and had a healthy baby boy in 2013. I am still on the same meds and currently 10 weeks preggo again. Good luck.

now the doc wants to put me back on low dose lithium along with a med to protect my kidneys and monitor them closely. i am curently on trileptal and seroquel but still have anxiety and hypomania. i don;t know what to do. has anyone had similar experiences with ect and/or with low dose lithium?

Considering Chantix. I take Trileptal 600mg 2x per day. I have not had epilepsy all my life just started one day about 7-10yrs ago (in my30's). Now Trileptal on occassions makes me very dizzy. It gets to the point I get very nauseaed 'cause the room is spinning so fast. That is only on occassion. So considering Chantix and want to know if anyone has used it and found it works without effecting their epilepsy or their epilepsy medication(s).

I am supposed to start trileptal this morning but worried about the side effects particularly dizzines. Has anyone had these symptoms? what are the likelyhood that I would become dizzy and nauseas while taking trileptal? I will be starting out w/ 150mg twice daily for 3 days then increasing?

In years with low stress events in my life it was not all that bad. However, when life events changed and I went on overload, I was off the wall and on the ceiling. Since you recently had a child that may be what triggered your change. Being a parent in itself adds a lot of extra pressure on you. I would still keep working with you pdoc so that you can maintain balance in your life.

The max dose is 80 mg/day. The serum half-life is 6-8 hours. This is in the prescribing information. It can be taken as a regular scheduled dose 3 or 4 times a day or as needed (PRN). Doctors have different opinions on this. I started out with 10 mg at bedtime and then went to 20 mg. Now I take 20 mg tree times a day.

Well im 18 years old and been having these really bad headaches since i was about 12. Doctors can't figure out what's wrong.I had a mri of the brain, mra of the neck and they all came out clear. I'm taking 2 butal apap 325 caff tab, 1 and a half topamax, 1 and a half trileptal, and one baclofen. My doctor also gave me a soft neck brace to wear while in on the computer and watching tv, but it seems like the brace is making this worse.
