trileptal and mirena

I just start trileptal two weeks ago, I have always taken birth control and never had a problem but I strongly dislike condoms..... please help.

I was lucky and after 3 procedures have been pain free and medication free for almost 4 years. So I was able to wean off the Trileptal under doctors orders.

Just wanted to ask if anyone has experienced swollen glands and itchy eyes when taking trileptal? I've only been on it now for 3wks and am currently on 75mg along with 375mg of Keppra twice daily. I don't have a rash but am wondering if this is just a cold or side effect from meds. I called the nurse yesterday at docs office they suggested being checked out by PMD, any suggestions? I dont have a fever or any other symptoms? Thanks for the feedback.

Hi, I'm new to the sight but have been doing research on Trileptal and MS. I currently take Trileptal for Partial Seizures (my seizures are well controlled with it) but whenever I miss 2 doses in a row (which I obviously try not to), I experience numbness and tingling in my face and head. I know these are symptoms of MS and I know Trileptal can be used for MS patients to help with nerve issues. I guess my question is should I see my neurologist?

Hi. I was diagnosed with ATN 14 years ago. The pain has been well-controlled with neurontin until 3 weeks ago. I had an exacerbation of pain, most likely brought on by dental work. The pain was an 11 on the 0-10 scale. Since the pain has only calmed down to a 7, my neuro added trileptal with the neurontin. The trileptal is being titrated and I'm at 750 mgs per day right now.

Due to the severe burning sensation I have in my hands from my current MS flare up, my neuro has put me on Trileptal. I have read great things about this med in regards to TN but not much about peripheral nerves. Anyone have any experience with this med for burning sensation NOT on the face? Hope you all are well!!

Dear Sir, Thank you very much for your reply, I ve taken a holiday by the beach i went for swiming walking trying to laugh and forget about my problems and it helped a lot, Now with the calmepam i have reduced the dose gradually i started to take half of the tablet for 5 days then i stopped for 2 days then i started to take quarter of the tablet every two days till i stopped now (almost from 5 days) is it okay?.

After 3 months, I am down to 900 mg of Trileptal, 2 mg Xanax, and 150 mg daily, down from 1800 mg daily of TRileptal originally, and a VERY slow introduction of Lamictal into my system. Of course this happens on the weekend, otherwise I would have called the pdoc by now-- anyway, let me know. Help is appreciated!

currently 6ml in the a.m. and 8ml in the p.m. (the concentration is 300mg/5ml.) About 2 weeks ago, his dose of Trileptal was increased from 6ml twice a day to the present dosage (because he was still having some mild break-through seizures). Around the same time, his teacher has mentioned that he is not "listening" well to her directions, and sometimes she has to re-explain her directions to him.

I am on 900mg of trileptal and had a healthy baby boy in 2013. I am still on the same meds and currently 10 weeks preggo again. Good luck.

Is anyone taking Trileptal for Touretts and OCD combined. My 13 year old daughter does. Does not help as much as Abilfy but does not have the hunger issue either.

Hi, I'm on trileptal, and I'm so tired, dizzy, I just stop taking morning pil because i can't drive to work. I will call my doc. I tell him about this. This drug is really something. But what I read, all this medicines are like this.

I lost my medical insurance and need help with maintaining my prescription of Trileptal. I was told that the internet coupons may not be available in Maine where I live. Other assistance, maybe directly from manufacture? Only need assistance for 6 mos.

Mirena uses the pregnancy hormone progesterone. I had the Mirena for 14 months and would have certain weeks on occasion when I'd get pregnancy symptoms such as morning sickness, fatigue, increased/decreased appetite, sore breasts, and cramps. It's very unusual to get pregnant with the Mirena--not impossible, but not at all common.

Ok so, I have been taking the's meds for like 2 months now. I am taking 150 mg of Zoloft and 1800 mg of Trileptal daily. I have been very emotional, like it's that time of the month but it's not, for the last week and for like 2 days now, just randomly I smell weird as ****... Like I was warming up some pizza rolls and it smelled like sweaty day old gym clothes and then I heated up something else and it smelled like day old pissy clothes... Is this normal??

I am not convinced that your symptoms are caused by Mirena. Panic and anxiety have deep rooted triggers. There may be certain psychological issues which you probably have. You may still go ahead and get the implant removed. But first, get a urine pregnancy test done, since you have missed your periods.

I am seventeen and just had the mirena put in on March 4th. I have been spotting non-stop (which is brown and thick). But I, finally, just had sex with my boyfriend on Friday and afterwards I started bleeding, not like the brown thick stuff, but like i was on my period. I don't know if this is normal, and all day today, I have been having terrible cramps. My abdomen is sore and crampy and I'm very concerned about this.

I have been on Trileptal for about 4 years now. I began it because I had trouble with sleepiness and general fatigue on Tegretol, and the blood tests bothered me. At first Trileptal worked, but the effect lessened over time as I built up tolerance and we (doc and I) kept tweaking it until I was on 1800 mg a day and it still wasn't really working. I also have generalized anxiety disorder, so she added Xanax into the mix.

However, since this is day one of 100 mg, could this go away? LMK. Also, am on Trileptal (1800 mg/day, with 300 mg in am and 1500 mg in pm) and Xanax (between 1 1/2 to 2 mg/ day depending on anxiety symptoms). The doctor wants to get Lamictal into my system and then decrease Trileptal slowly as our next step. Anyway, any comments on these side effects? Thanks for your help!!

Your last question is a very valid one. I am now wondering if my eggs were still dropping because I am now 7 weeks without the mirena and I am not ovulating nor have I had a period. They say the mirena doesn't affect ovulation, but if it doesn't then how come you don't get a period. There is so much conflicting information on this thing its making me angry. I wish I had looked into it more before letting my dr talk me into it.

The thing is I am having this pregnancy scare for a month and some weeks now. Of course I dont have a cycle because of the mirena. Within the past month I have some weight gain around the mid section area, soreness tenderness of the breasts, shortness of breath, now nauesa, flutter feelings in my abdomen, pressure of the abdomen especially underneath. My boyfriend thinks I am because I have been very moody and dealing with a lot of fatigue.

Can the mirena be the cause of my constipation and bloating? I have read that progesterone slows the perilstatis of the intestine causing constipation?

I became very sick and almost died for having the Mirena, Lupron and Northindrone. Do not get the Mirena inserted while having Lupron shots.

Depends on your body and how it reacts to the hormones.I have a Paragard and I absolutely love it....the reason for me not choosing the Mirena is because I wasn't sure how the hormones would react with my body and current situation. Take a chance and see if u want to,if it doesn't work out then switch back! Only u kno your reasons for wanting to switch....but if it isn't really serious I'd tell u to stick to your Paragard!

I just started taking oxcarbazepine 9 days ago and I built up to 300 mg,no high not even close.Not like with other drugs like oxycontin, were with in 30 min you get a buzz.I guess you have to take higher doses if thats were you want to go,but I dont know.
