Avatar f tn Don't use Triamcinolone anymore if you can help it as overuse can cause real problems. We read about it here all the time because it can thin the skin. I would try Psoriaflora cream or clear 100% aloe vera.
Avatar n tn Hi, i have a dry red area on the head of my penis. I'm not circumcised. It has been like this for maybe 4mths and was probably caused by not using a condom. In the past i treated it with Canestan cream and it stopped it drying out but was occasionally itchy. It never quit so i saw a doctor who put me on some tablets (sorry don't have name) and i had to apply triamcinolone acetonide lotion twice a day after showering.
Avatar m tn Decadron® (dexamethasone) 4 mg is not the therapeutic equivalent of Kenalog® (triamcinolone acetonide) 80 mg. Using the Lexi-Calc corticosteroid conversion formula, the ratio of the 2 would be close to 5:1. So it would take Decadron® (dexamethasone) 16 mg to be approximately the equivalent of Kenalog® (triamcinolone acetonide) 80 mg.
4494421 tn?1355435226 I used an over the counter cream " Triamcinolone Acetonide " and it worked great for me. Other then that maybe others will chime in here but you can also check in the search box.

Apply calamine lotion at the site of the lesions and see if it helps. You could take some oral antihistamine medications like cetrizine or loratadine. You need to maintain a good personal hygiene .

Avatar f tn I decided to take her to a different allgerist for a second opinion. At this point she was placed on Zyrtec 5mg BID, Orapred 15 mg q daily x 5 days and Triamcinolone cream BID. The plaques were beginning to get better and I have seen some encouraging results regarding them. However, 2 days after finishing the Orapred, she has developed an extremely itchy rash from her neck almost to her knees. The rash is slightly raised and red.
Avatar n tn hydrocortisone or desonide), whilst more severe cases require a higher-potency steroid (e.g. clobetasol propionate, fluocinonide). Medium-potency corticosteroids such as clobetasone butyrate (Eumovate), Betamethasone Valerate (Betnovate) or triamcinolone are also available. Generally medical practitioners will prescribe the less potent ones first before trying the more potent ones.

Avatar m tn He is treating it with a topical steroid 2X per day. TRIAMCINOLONE ACETONIDE 0.1 % cream is what he gave me, also said take claritin. I am curious what others think about his diagnosis and treatment. Thanks.
Avatar n tn went back to patient first, he perscribed more cream ( fluocinonide USP,0.05%) So I started using it again, it went away, stopped using it, then it came back. About the fourth time through this frustrating cycle I just used it even thought it was gone, until I was completely done with my 5th tube of this steriod cream. Now its back. Has anyone had this happen or know what is going on? I am really getting irritated with this, and my arms are starting to scar from the bumps!!! Please help!!!!
Avatar n tn Then the Dr gave me a cream Nyststin and Triamcinolone....It was pretty much the same but it did make the skin a little less crusty feeling.... Then he gave me Econazole nitrate cream i think or maybe this was for something else, what ever, i've forgotten... Now i'm using Fluocinonide cream...It helps with the symptoms of the crusty skin but if i stop using it for more then about 5 days the crusty skin returns.. And even though i use this Fluoc..

482830 tn?1247020837 When I do that the areas tend to swell a little, the skin thickens and dries. I have been rotating between Triamcinolone Acetonide ointment, hydrocortisone, Balmex and Sarna. Nothing seems to work for more than a few minutes. My skin condition doesn't appear to be contagious. A dermatologist suggested that I have eczema, but didn't do any tests to arrive at that diagnosis. I'd like to see another dermatologist but I am uninsured.
Avatar m tn Visual diagnosis 3 years ago as plaque psoriasis in the genital area and prescribed Triamcinolone cream 1%. When I felt itchy, I began using the cream immediately. Within a week to 2 weeks of using a small amount of the cream daily my skin healed. Unfortunately it would recur within about a month. Visited derm dr. recently and he diagnosed as herpes. I have not used the cream and have had a lot of pain and outbreak in the same 2 sites.
Avatar n tn two weeks ago i used a self tanning cream 3x with no problems. after using it the 4th time, i developed a pimply, itchy rash over the areas i used it on. over the past week and having discontiued it'use immediately, i see the rash is now on areas i did not use the tanner. each morning i awake, the rash has progressed to a new area, and now i have a rash al over my body except my back and face but much worse on the areas i use the tanner one.
250701 tn?1320974765 My husband takes Hydroxyzine HCL (a strong antihistamine) and uses Triamcinolone (an ointment) when the rash is bad. Both are prescriptions. He also uses Eucerin body wash in the shower and Eucerin cream after the shower. When he had blisters on his back due to the rash, we put tea tree oil on them. I have also heard people say that pressing the itchy area up against a cold surface, stepping outside, standing in front of a fan, and putting ice on it helps.
Avatar n tn For three months now I have been suffering tremendously and still need to go back to th doctor as the rash comes back after the Prednisone wears off. I have already contacted VS and so far, they said the are sending me an envelope for me to send them my presumably formaldehyde-poisoned bras! I would really appreciate any information on who to contact.
Avatar f tn Fran was taken off Incivek last Friday due to rash. I believe it was her 8th week so there should not be any drug interaction. Fran, the rash should subside somewhat from discontinuing the Incivek but from what you describe you have no other choice but to take the steroids and get the rash under control. Unfortunately, you were in the minority of those who experiece severe dermatological pruritus and rash. I don't think a short course of steroids will have an impact.
