Hi, i have a dry red area on the head of my penis. I'm not circumcised. It has been like this for maybe 4mths and was probably caused by not using a condom. In the past i treated it with Canestan cream and it stopped it drying out but was occasionally itchy. It never quit so i saw a doctor who put me on some tablets (sorry don't have name) and i had to apply triamcinolone acetonide lotion twice a day after showering.

I was prescribed Triamcinolone Acetonide cream when i found out that i had eczema. I used it like it said only putting it on my legs (where the majority of my eczema was at the time.) every other day. I only put on a very thin amount because thats what i was told. Soon after finishing my first container of the cream i started noticing my legs were starting to discolor some. Then all of a sudden i started getting thick dark stretch marks on the inner part of my legs.

Don't use Triamcinolone anymore if you can help it as overuse can cause real problems. We read about it here all the time because it can thin the skin. I would try Psoriaflora cream or clear 100% aloe vera.

I tried sarna anti itch lotion and it seemed to get worse. I went to emergency and they said it was contact dermatitis and perscribed hydrocortizone cream that did not work and I went back. The rash was looking a bit different and they thought it was a fungal rash and perscribed atarax, clotrimazole cream usp, 1% and triamcinolone acetonide cream .01% I used that and put vasaline on top of it and it went away.

Benadryl helped with the itching somewhat in my case, but the drowsiness was a factor even though I took it at night. The only thing that really helped my itching was topical cortisone (1%). BEWARE: I sometimes wonder if that contributed to my relapse, being an immune supressant of a sort, so it may not be a good idea even in the weak strength. My husband takes Hydroxyzine HCL (a strong antihistamine) and uses Triamcinolone (an ointment) when the rash is bad. Both are prescriptions. He also uses Eucerin body wash in the shower and Eucerin cream after the shower. When he had blisters on his back due to the rash, we put tea tree oil on them. I have also heard people say that pressing the itchy area up against a cold surface, stepping outside, standing in front of a fan, and putting ice on it helps.

I was currently using triamcinolone for an existing exema condition in other areas of my body. I called the nurse at my dr's office and she suggested that I use the triamcinolone cream on my face to clear up the reaction. It worked and in the months passing as I tried to get my facial skin back to normal, I used the triamcinolone locally, on occasion if I had another outbreak on my face. I fear that I may have skin atrophy in areas of my face now.

You should probably try and find the cause for this. You may also try using some sun screen lotion, avoiding the sun ans also the use of cosmetics which are hypoallergenic. Further the use of antihistamines and topical lotions may be beneficial. Let me know if you may need any more help.

Hi. I've a question regarding my niece's skin problem. She is a 7-years old. She has developed red patches of skin on her cheek, chin and around nose. The affected area of her cheek is very dry. I decided to take her to a different allgerist for a second opinion. At this point she was placed on Zyrtec 5mg BID, Orapred 15 mg q daily x 5 days and Triamcinolone cream BID. t know whether I had a rash or a yeast infection.I was given Triamcinolone and bacitracin zinc to mix together and apply 3 times a day.The foreskin healed but the discoloration stayed.It's been months now and it won't go away and the dermatologist said it's nothing.I have pictures attached.
