Avatar f tn If you just want something to add some color, you could try self tanning lotions. But, if it were my child I might take him to another dermatologist for a second opinion. If you are still in the military, I know how difficult "on post or Tri-care" providers can be sometimes. Just be persistent and make demands not requests, it is their job to care of you properly!

Avatar n tn Hi, i have a dry red area on the head of my penis. I'm not circumcised. It has been like this for maybe 4mths and was probably caused by not using a condom. In the past i treated it with Canestan cream and it stopped it drying out but was occasionally itchy. It never quit so i saw a doctor who put me on some tablets (sorry don't have name) and i had to apply triamcinolone acetonide lotion twice a day after showering.
Avatar m tn Hi everybody, Would anyone be so kind to share his/her knowledge on how the side effects of topical corticosteroids, namely that of swelling/edema in subcutaneous tissue, as well as dilation of superficial blood vessels(capillaries), develop. I have developed these side effects from usage of two different corticosteroids for different skin problems.
Avatar m tn 5%w/v, Triamcinolone Acetonide 0.1%w/v, Chlorhexidine HCl 0.5%w/v. The Muco-Aid is a bottle of liquid lotion, which weigh around 8g. I actually used few times in the window period of 12 weeks. Probably few days before testing too, even a day before testing. I cannot remember the exactly when did I put the lotion in my mouth for ulcers. I have read somewhere that steroid might delay antibodies production of HIV making the test result not accurate. In this case is Triamcinolone Acetonide.
Avatar f tn Acne treatment does consist of Metrogyl as part of treatment, but it should not be prolonged. Metrogyl has got its own side effects. You can use topical retinoic cream and regularly wash your face with good face wash. I think this should help. Keep me posted. Bye.
Avatar n tn Hello, Triamcinolone acetonide is a synthetic corticosteroid used to treat various skin conditions and has been reported as better as compared to Fluocinonide. Side effects like hair loss, burning and skin blisters are common after using fluocinonide. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps.
1292023 tn?1272203010 But make sure to apply it only for the prescribed time as it is a topical high potency steroid and hence it may cause side effects if used for a long time. You can wear cotton gloves as they absorb sweating which exaggerates the condition. Since eczema is triggered by stress and other allergens, so your perming of the hair and the exposure to chemicals may be the causative factor in your case. I hope it helps. Take care and regards.
1420486 tn?1384793153 Triamcinolone ointment does the trick for my ribavirin rash.
Avatar f tn Hello, Triamcinolone is a high potency steroid and should be used after a dermatologist’s guidance. It is very true that steroids are not without side effects and long term use should be under a dermatologist’s guidance only. Steroid induced rosacea is one of the commonest side effect of long term use of steroids. Others include skin thinning and atrophy, allergic reaction and tachyphylaxis(tolerance the skin develops to the vasoconstrictive action of topical steroids.).

Avatar n tn Burning and itching are very common side effects. Hence your daughter must have screamed. For fungal infections this cream is available with nystatin in it. However please consult your daughter’s pediatrician or skin specialist before starting any medicine. Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
Avatar f tn My wife, Nanette, had liposomal doxorubicin or Caelyx for 6 months (equivalent to 6 treatments) and she had skin darkening. We noticed the change in her complexion midway through this regimen. She applies sun block lotion everytime she goes outside. Kindly watch out for PPE / hand and foot syndrome also, although Nanette didn't have this. This is one of the more popular side effects of this drug. I hope this drug works for you.
Avatar f tn sorry to hear your hubby is having a hard time. sounds like he is having some of the common side effects. There is nothing that can boost platlets but many docs let them go really low before lowering or stopping the meds. Try and get back on the full strength of interferon ASAP! Probably the most common side effect is the itching. I have it as well and it is horrible. I have found some relief with a prescription med called Atarax.
Avatar m tn I don't start the third drug till a month into treatment. ---------------------------- This sounds wrong. Are you sure you are taking Incivek? What you are describing is a lead-in. That is more common with Victrellis. I bet you will be fine. Whatever you read or heard about Incivek will not happen to you as far as the systemic rash is concerned. Ribavirin comes with its own share of side effects. The antihistamine is a good idea.
Avatar m tn Hello, Hypopigmentation and muscle atrophy and thinning of skin are frequent side effects of steroids and you have injected a high potency steroid triamcinolone in your skin. This might have caused these side effects. Secondly vitiligo and if there is any loss of sensation in the area then leprosy also need to be ruled out. It will be best to get the diagnosis confirmed by a skin biopsy.
Avatar m tn Hello, Triamcinolone is a high potency steroid and is not without side effects. Regarding the fungal infection, wash the area and then dry thoroughly by pat drying, not rubbing. It is important that the skin is not damp because the damp skin is an ideal site for fungi to multiply. Also wear cotton underwears and change them twice a day. Also apply topical antifungals like Lamisil or Monistat. Severe cases may need oral antifungals for which I suggest you to consult a dermatologist.
Avatar f tn t comment on the herb or the Triamcinolone but like all steroids there are many side effects....do speak with your Vet and tell them whats happening. Atopica(cyclosporine) is prescribed OFF label for cats...usually to treat Feline Granuloma Comlpex. the side effects are less than that of steroids.esp for long term use. . http://www.marvistavet.com/html/body_cyclosporine.
Avatar f tn Don't use Triamcinolone anymore if you can help it as overuse can cause real problems. We read about it here all the time because it can thin the skin. I would try Psoriaflora cream or clear 100% aloe vera.
Avatar f tn I know this sounds very weird but...I'm on my 17th week of interferon and ribavarin and lately my tongue and throat feel dry and very sensitive...like a burning/stinging sensation. The Dr. doesn't say much about it. Matter of fact...pretty much anything..he sums up to side effects. For example...I have these bumpy red spots on my arms, neck and legs. They itch constantly and the surface of my skin has become leathery. My blood panel isn't to far out of whack..
