So I looked it up on the net and it didnt say anything about being used for a yeast infection. What should I do?
Rotted white hanging skin surrounding the area. I saw a dermatologist. He said it was a fungal/yeast infection and mostly occured from the long term antibiotic usage. The dermatologist at the time prescribed me Nyzoral cream. At this time I also noticed a rash/peeling in the folds of the skin between my legs. I applied the Nyzoral to this area and my armpit for over a week and saw no difference.
If i even wipe too much and irritate the skin like for example the labia will start to itch and I dont have a yeast infection or anything its just skin being irritated. I feel like I will lose my mind. Any help is appreciated.
Hi Dr. Rockoff, I'm a 39 year old male. I had a fungal infection, most likely Candida, in my groin area (scrotum, penis, & some in inner thighs). I used an over-the-counter medicine, Micatin (Miconazole nitrate 2%), for jock itch. It started to sting and burn my skin, so I stopped using it after just two days. I went to a doctor (not a Dermatologist) and he prescribed a cream, Nystatin (100,000 USP) & Triamcinolone (1 mg).
fungal infection and yeast infection are the same thing. topical steroids can cause skin thinning. they aren't necessary for fungal infections either unless there is a lot of underlying irritation that needs dealt with. otc jock itch creams - just means over the counter. many different brands out there. ask your pharmacist for help if you can't find one on your own. no, stress doesn't cause yeast overgrowth.
I developed a very itchy and painful rash that my physician diagnosed as a yeast infection. For the last several months I have been on Nystatin and Triamcinolone Cream, keep the area clean, and wear cotton underwear. This rash has not cleared up. It's still red, hair follicles show pustules, and the whole area has a burning sensation. The stretch marks near it are inflamed and tender. What other treatments could be used to clear this up?
That sounded a little odd to me, because the rash has been there for a few months now, anyways he prescribed me triamcinolone 0.025%, Ketconazole 2%, and Bacitra/Polym (FO), they mixed all those together and I am supposed to put it on every night, I ve been doing this for 2 weeks now its getting a little better but its still noticeable, what do you think I should do?
i have some left over triamcinolone acetonide cream ups 0.1% from a yeast infection i got under my armpit from using a deodorant that was too strong for me. i was wondering if i could use that to treat the warts because i dont have the money to go back to the doctor right now and dont want them to get worse! thanks in advance!
I haven't had a yeast infection for years because of this. Talk to your doctor, for more info, there may even be some info on the net about boric acid an yeast. You can get a small bag from the chemist in your local drug store, they can also give you the caplets...although they are sold in the 100's..you'll never run out. Good luck!
) on top of having unprotected sex with my co worker, I was drinking a lot of beer / alcohol at the time, eating unhealthy, surfing a lot, sacrificing personal hygiene, and smoking cigarettes (which lowered my immune system) - pretty much asking for a yeast infection. I was prescribed Mupirocin Calcium Cream, Triamcinolone Acetonide Cream, and Miconazole Nitrate. I cut down on sugar, beer and stayed out of the ocean to keep my groin dry.
looked at it very carefully and stated that it was a yeast infection. Prescribed Difucan and Nystatin w/triamcinolone and said to keep it dry w/ baby powder cornstarch. After 3 days the redness and burning on my scrotum was gone and the rash that had spread to my shaft had started to fade. After 10 days the scrotum is fine, but the rash that was on my shaft is now peeling as if the yeast has dead(die-off?) and now my body is trying to shed it.
About a year and a half ago, my wife was prescribed Augmentin, a powerful antibiotic, for a cat bite. She got a yeast infection, as usual for her with antibiotics. Shortly thereafter, I got a rash on my scrotum, which spread to my penis -- NOT usual (thank God). I tried treating the rash for jock-itch, to no avail. I went to the doctor, and he diagnosed it as eczema and prescribed triamcinolone 0.1% cream. It eventually went away.
I called the doctor in the morning, to report of my worsened condition. My test results were negative for everything but a yeast infection. No bladder infection, no stds. Dr said to stop the antibiotic and take the second diflucan and continue with the cream. She said the burning urination was caused by the yeast infection. NOW- today when cleaning the area with a pH balancing wash, i see about a dozen pea size red bumps all over my genitals.
have you been tested for STD's??
I took him back and they said he had a yeast infection. He has been on Nystatin for 6 days now but his rash is not looking any better except for that the redness is not as bad. Does anybody know any other things to try or suggestion of different Rx that would help clear this up?
Also, the Triamcinolone and Nystatin is a combo steroid and antifungal, common to be rx'd for yeast, but usually along with an internal antifungal med...
I got tested for Genital herpes which came out negative, but I have been looking online and alot of people say that many people get a misdiagonosis of Herpes as a yeast infection. That is when I was diagonosed with a yeast infection (Papsmear and they found alittle yeast). I've been lost ever since the Middle of November because this is when it seems to have been happening!
A week after having sex with my new partner, I noticed itching and vaginal discharge extremely similar to a yeast infection. When I have sex with my partner I also notice a tick White pasty substance coming out if my vagina. I recently got over a really bad uti aswell.. The itchy finally whet away and the tick cheesy discharge reduced alot. But it recently has come back. There isn't any smell. I have some Triamcinolone Acetonide cream. Will this help if it is a yeast infection?
CURRENT SITUATIon. I currently have a yeast infection that I have had for about six or seven weeks. It is by far the worst one that I've ever had both in the amount of area that it covers and and the duration. Here is the sequence of events and treatment thus far. This started at the end of May. I noticed what I would call my typical yeast infection and applied monistat 7 for several days. It continued getting worse.
I am also been on triamcinolone 1% ointment on my hand since I was 12 years old that I use for eczema on fingers. Symptoms improve slightly and do not go away fully but it gets embarrasing to go to doctor again. 1 year after encounter I have nonstop bleeding, turns out to be ectopic pregnancy with iud perfectly in place still. I have the iud removed but ectopic was not detected until after it burst the fallopian tube, fallopian tube removed. Still keep having mild symptoms 2 years later.
Third, your symptoms are not at all typical for genital herpes. Your sympotms also aren't typical for a fungal infection, and your doctor agreed. Steroids like triamcinolone can make fungal infections a lot worse and all doctors know it. They are sometimes used for yeast or fungus if symptoms are severe, but only in combination with antifungal treatment. Same for hepres: steroids alone often make symptoms worse.
IM VERY scared losing sleep and suffering from anxiety now I'm taking miconadale for the yeast infection and it has a area red with tiny bumps afraid this might be another outbreak I'm freaking out because before last week never had anything like this and my boyfriend is somewhat health conscious so I doubt if I got anything from him!
Mention that you heard it could be a chronic yeast infection on the vulva area. You may feel embarrassed to ask for these tests, but I am so thankful that I sucked it up and was straight up about what I thought it was. Now I know, yeast. It's better to know that not know and continue to be upset and/or infect other people! Hang in there, hope you find your answers & relief soon!
She prescribed Valtrex and Nystatin Triamcinolone Acetonide Cream. I used both and In about 2 weeks symptoms cleared for the most part. Since the first outbreak, I have not had such severe symptoms. I still however have an ongoing problem of sensitive foreskin. (never had this in the past) There is usually a section on my foreskin that is uncomfortable. The skin looks a little more reddish there, however seems to have the same texture of the rest of the foreskin.
I went to the Dr., he gave a bunch of antibiotics as a preventive measure for STDs and urinal tract infection. I also had a blood test that cleared me of all STDs, but the urine test showed that I was passing a stone, which might have explained the burning while urinating and the urinal tract infection. After I was done with the antibiotics and all, I developed this redness around the top of the penis and that little bump. The redness seems to come and go.
I am pregnant and I have a yeast infection. My ob gyn prescribed me a cream that has nystantin and triamcinolone acetonide. I was reading the patient information leaflet and I got nervous when I read this among the precautions paragraphs: "there are no teratogenic studies with combined nystantin and triamcinolone acetonide. Corticoisteroids are generally teratogenic in laboratory animals when administered systematically at relatively low dosage levels.
Second, the first genital herpes outbreak rarely occurs on the scrotum. For an HSV infection to take, the virus has to be massaged into the tissues -- therefore the intitial outbreak is generally on the body parts that receive the most friction during sex (usually the penis in men, vaginal opening and labia minor in women). For the same reason, the brief exposure you describe (before putting on a condom) was very unlikely to risk an HSV infection.
Sorry Dr., I failed to mention, I talked to a pharmacist that recommended I try a regiment of "Nystatin"...and to no avail. I then got tested for yeast... and the results came back negative. The rash still haunts me daily.
