i have had shingles for 5 years now. every year i break out more often. the first breakout i was extremely ill and i broke out three times in a two month period. first on my right hip the size of a quarter and i thought i was going to die from the pain. the second one foollowed quickly and it was from front to back between my legs, as it was healing, i broke out for the third time on my right hip again. since then it has progressed to up to six times a year.
Before I left I started using some cream my son's doctor prescribed to him for a rash. It's Triamcinolone Acetonide .025%. I realize I probably shouldn't use a cream not prescribed to me but it seemed to work for his rash and was pretty gentle on his infant skin. The cream seems to have caused some of the redness to disappear from the rash. Any help would be greatly appreciated, here are the link to the pictures: http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg277/jjh_33/100_0066.jpg http://i250.
) or products that may be to blame. Triamcinolone Acetonide is used for treating skin disorders such as psoriasis, rosacea and exzema, so if it is not helping you, then a skin disorder is probably not the issue. The next thing to look at is Shingles (which is related to chicken pox) or another type of virus. I personally broke out in a rash a few years ago that covered me from head-to-toe and was similar to yours. The doctors gave me a cream as well and it didn't do squat.
When the rash is at its peak, symptoms can range from mild itching to extreme and intense pain. I would suggest consulting a dermatologist and getting evaluated for shingles. I hope it helps. Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional doubts.Kind regards.
I developed a rash in the area where the sores were, but don't know if it was related to the shingles. Triamcinolone worked wonders on the itch, and the rash and its gone now. latest issue is that the bulge on the side is very sensitive, and hurts when i walk or hit a bump while driving. My pain has subsided significantly so my main problem is now the sensitive side, the bloating and the inability to get a good night's sleep. Things are getting better slowly.
His peditrician didn't know what it was so we went to see a dermologist he gave us this cream TRIAMCINOLONE ACETONIDE 0.1% for fougera and said it is stem from his Asthma which i don't buy ; because i had asthma as a child and never experince anything like that. I have a feeling it might be shingles . We have been using this ointment for more than three weeks and it seems to be spreading. Should i have him see another doctor? and have his blood tested? Thanks very much.
3 days after the surgery, which thankfully all was ok except for having very low blood pressure at the hospital (74/42), my face felt flushed and my husband told me my face was red. I had a low grade fever (99.8) and then on the 4th day, I developed a rash on my back which itched like crazy. Long story short, it now covers my entire back. Last night I goe my first one on my stomach and it itched so much but I looked at it in the light and it looked like a tiny blister.
This time he checked for herpes, also negative. He'd prescribed Nystatin/Triamcinolone ointment for a persistent redness on the crack of my buttocks, and when the herpes swab came back negative he told me to use that on the areas of the head and shaft of my penis. After about 5 days, they all but went away. About two weeks later two red circular areas reappeared on the left head of my penis and one on the right; the shaft was unaffected. I saw my dermatologist's PA who suspected psoriasis.
Needless to say now it is 3 1/2 months and I have been through Nystatin, econazole, triamcinolone, cutivate, biafine, Valtrex (7 days in middle December for Shingles) and Elidel and none seem to make it resolve. It has gotten better and seems to do better when nothing is on it than when we try to treat it. It seemed to be doing fairly well. This past Saturday, I barely noticed it, but the last 48 hours I am feeling it more again though not as intense as at first.
The blister like rashes are still around both my wrists and some patches on my inner arm. My question is how long does it take for the prednisone to take effect for the blistery, leather like rash? Also, I can't seem to figure out where this allergy is coming from. I don't feel stressed since I'm on vacation for the summer as a teacher . The only thing new that I've used is facial cream so can that cause all these rashes? My rashes are just on my neck, chest, and arms area.
I've had psoriasis for almost as long as Hep C, 30-35 years. After beginning tx they gave a script for triamcinolone 1%, which works as well, if not better, as anything b4. And it's cheap too! 4$ a Wally-World. Stick with it, it'll work. Stay strong.
Rash itches sometimes and seem to appear/grow slowly near the area (new spot a month from each other). I applied Triamcinolone Acetonide Cream 2x/d for 1 week and it did not seem to improve the rash. I've gotten bitten by a bug during a hike around 1/2 a year ago, thought it was a tick, and was prescribed an antibiotic for precaution. (just throwing out possible causes) Any help will be appreciated!
It is now 4 months and it is still present. I was also on a 7 day course of Valtrex for Shingles in December and this did not seem to help it. My Derm PA does not think it is infectious since it is lasting so long and has never been tremendously better or worse with treatment. I was worried about herpes at first but I have never had any classic lesions and 3 years ago I tested negative and have been with one partner since with no problems till this in the 3 years.
Thanks so much for all the great advise! I wouldn't have started nor made it through treatment without this community.
Around ten days later i was getting a little anxiety thinking i might have got herpes so i went and got tested . My antibodies for 1 and 2 both came back negative but my IGM came back positive. They told me to wait around six weeks and take an IGG to see wich one i got. Around ten days after my IGM results i developed a rash on my back and went to the doctor and he diagnosed me with shingles and gave me famcyclovir.
2) If it's herpes and if it's due to HSV-1, you are infectious now -- at least intermittenly -- and will remain so for life, or at least for several years. 3) It would be wise to abstain from sex with new partners until you sort this out. But it's unlikely to take 4 months. The standard HSV IgG antibody tests usually (80%) are positive within 6 weeks, so you could be retested then. In the meantime, if you develop new penile sore(s), they could be tested for the virus.
prescribed Nystatin and Triamcinolone Acetonide Cream USP. I have been using it twice a day for 2 weeks. I wash the area with a chlorahexadine scrub that I let sit for 10 min. and then rinse before applying the cream. It started to seem better after a few days but then started spreading around my thumb and below the bottom joint. The blisters are getting bigger and are almost yellow colored. They hurt and itch so bad. The best thing I've found is cold packs to relieve the irritation.
She drew 5 vials of blood to test for everything from syph to thyroid, diabetes to an Igg type 2 and kidney functions. Also a script for fluconazole and a cortisone cream triamcinolone acetonide to go with the ketonoazole. The most pain in where I have the crease where my thigh meets my torso and there is only a very slight rash visible. I'm also back to the lower back pain.... Don't be surprised if I hop a plane and show up next week (I'm serious).
I've most recently taken a look at symptoms, which I've had for sometime. I've had hayfever for most of my 63 years and food allergies have developed over the years. .... clams nearly did me in once! Over the course of the last 5 ?? years things have developed. As I recall, I started taking Triamterene/HCTZ for fluids and high blood pressure. At about the same time my ankles became itchy, I thought because of the diuretic. ?? About a year ago, maybe longer, other things started to occur.
Ended up getting nystatin and triamcinolone and used it for about 5 days. On 5th day my right testicle was feeling heacy and in pain and my right leg felt numb. Went into er and nothing they could do. Gave me a urethra swab to see if anything got inside and that was negative. Things looked ok but still have dull pains here and there in the pelvic area. So we are at 4 weeks now and i start to get flu like symptoms. Couldnt eat felt nauseas.
Transplant center) is the one who recommends the Eucerin body wash, Eucerin cream, Atarax and Triamcinolone for the Incivek rash. We added the tea tree oil for the blisters. I hope you get some relief, but I am concerned about the severity of your rash, how widespread it is, and how miserable you feel. I would say the severity matches my husband's rash, but yours is much more widespread (all at one time) than my husband's.
He gave me some cortizone cream for my back rash It's called Fluocinonide 0.05 and he gave me Triamcinolone acetonide that you put on the sores in your mouth. My mouth is better so is my rash. So don't feel lonely I have the same thing. I am slowly getting through it just day by day. May God bless and keep you through this horrible mess. I know God is there to help me and everyone always. Keep in touch..
I wonder if the antibiotics, if it's shingles, would actually prolong my issue? Probably, aye? I know for a fact oral steroids work but don't really see much result with topical, unless they are just so stubborn that it takes alot longer.. The topical steroids thin your skin and become less effective after about a week so you gotta take breaks. It's also not a good idea to use them over large areas of skin (not that I've listened to that last one, desperation makes us do crazy things).
Before this outbreak, it was isolated to a single ulcer on my forehead for a few months (I didn't know what it was at the time). Eventually I attempted to get it diagnosed & treated - and when I did, it turned into a horrible game of Impetigo whack-a-mole.
I would cry to my husband at night and I stayed inside during the day just so I wouldn't have to wear a bra. I searched the interenet for answers, shingles, dermitis, paget's disease, inflammatory breast cancer....I wanted an answer. I went to my gyn, he said that he had seen heat rashes but never this. I went another dermatologist, he said that he was baffled and couldn't give me an answer. I had a mammogram, to my relief it wasn't cancer. And the itching and redness finally went away.
Shamefully, for almost 8 years I have been getting very small itchy blisters on various spots on my arms and legs. The small blisters develop and immediately itch intensely, which is how I know they're there. They have a clear fluid inside, with no puss. When I scratch them in my sleep or when they break, they often weep a little amber colored liquid. Also, when I scratch them, more tiny blisters will develop around the original blister, signifying an infection.
My daughter is 5 and she has been getting the same thing for about four months now. She gets a "magic mosquito bite" within a centimeter of the same place every 3 weeks or so. Sometimes it's pale in the middle with red around and other times it's just red in the middle of her left arm. She complains its itchy then it goes away within a day.
He said that it is related to asthma (which has largely gone away for me, but I had severe asthma as an infant and child until I had my son), and that people with asthma typically suffer from skin disorders, and it gets worse as we age. Great! The good news is that he prescribed two meds for me, one for body (Triamcinolone Acetonide Ointment--0.1%) and one for face (Desonide Cream--0.05%).
All tests came back just fine. She told me that I have atopic dermatitis and gave me Triamcinolone cream to try for three weeks to try to stop the itch/scratch cycle. The cream does not work and as I tried to explain to her, it is not skin related, it is internal. I do beleive that it has something to do with histamines and blood flow, but I think there must be a cure.
