my18 month old daughter has a rash that started off near her diaper area on her upper inner thigh. i tried every diaper rash cream i could think of, every lotion, bag balm, nystatin cream and 1% hydrocortison cream. but none of these seemed to clear up the red bumps. she has had no strep throat, no high fever and has not been exposed to any new detergents, animals, or diapers. concerned, i took her to her pediatrician. he said. welll im not 100% sure what this is. i will give you G.E.T.
I went to the doctors and right away he said I had a bad fungal infection which was similar to a bad diaper rash. He gave me two tablets to be taken 1 every seven days of FLUCONAZOLE (DIFLUCAN) 150 MG for yeast and also gave me NYSTATIN-TRIAMCINOLONE Cream to apply twice a day for ten days. Immediately by anus area got a lot better but now it is 14 days later and I am still seeing my inner thigh rash and feeling a irritating and burning sensation when I walk.

I am still using the triamcinolone and the discomfort seems to be reducing.
However you mentioned that it does not look like a fungal infection and is perhaps an eczema or dermatitis type ailment. Can you please tell me if steroids are usually prescribed for these types of ailments? Will using steroids (triamcinolone or hydrocortisone) assist with symptoms similar to mine or is calamine a better alternative?

I'm 19 years old. I've had 3 ringworm outbreaks in less than a year, but I'm still not sure if it's ringworm. It always starts out with 1, 2, or 3 small red bumps. All the bumps have a white head and can be ruptured. If i scratch it or rupture the bumps by applying cream, it spreads. It is itchy, but only sometimes. But it never forms a circle. Could just be a regular diaper rash, butif it's not going away it could be a yeast diaper rash. If regular diaper cream doesn't clear it up within a few days, talk to his doctor. You may need a special topical cream (possibly Nystatin cream) if it's a yeast diaper rash. You could try a little cornstarch to keep his bum dry and change his diaper often. Also, keep it clean and give it some time to air dry too.

Creams used to treat jock itch should be applied twice a day for at least two weeks. It can be stopped after the rash has been gone for one week. However, steroids should not be used in the groin alone without consulting your doctor since steroids alone can make the rash of jock itch much worse. If the rash is very red and itchy, especially if it has blisters at the edge, a topical steroid such as hydrocortisone can also be applied aside from the clotrimazole cream.
I swear by the brand Butt Paste for all diaper rashes. It's the only thing that worked for my daughter. Yes I agree let it air out for a little bit and stop with the powder.

Based on the image this appears to be a generalized rash that is confluent. A generalized rash may suggest a hypersensitivity reaction such as hives and urticaria. An underlying trigger has to be ascertained. In your case, this may be caused by the medication you have mentioned. Also, a fungal infection and contact dermatitis may still be differentials due to the recurrence of the rash.
The symptoms are improving and this is a good sign.

I cannot confirm anything without examination,but it can be folliculitis,seat dermatitis,heat rash,diaper rash,contact dermatitis or psoriasis.Looking at the age of the child,diaper or heat rash is a possibility.
Allow your son to wear cotton undergarments and keep the buttocks clean and hygienic.Also after washing the area with water,pat dry the buttocks.Pls do not apply any cream on the byttocks as it will leda to further clogging of pores.You can however apply a light dusting powder.
So I stopped shavin dwn there for a la'while because it's kinda tender & tonight I decided to shave. Anyways, I took a mirror to look dwn there ( it's jst somethin I have a habit of doin ) & I saw wht looks like a diaper rash. I have a Dr appt tmrw so I plan on askin her wht can I use but have any of you ladies experienced this & if you did, is there anythin tht you can suggest tht I can use or do for it ?
