Avatar f tn If you just want something to add some color, you could try self tanning lotions. But, if it were my child I might take him to another dermatologist for a second opinion. If you are still in the military, I know how difficult "on post or Tri-care" providers can be sometimes. Just be persistent and make demands not requests, it is their job to care of you properly!
Avatar n tn prescribed Fluocinonide cream usp 0.05 by TARO, I also have on hand Triamcinolone Acetonide cream usp 0.1. Are they interchangeable The rash is getting larger and itches as it grows.
Avatar m tn Decadron® (dexamethasone) 4 mg is not the therapeutic equivalent of Kenalog® (triamcinolone acetonide) 80 mg. Using the Lexi-Calc corticosteroid conversion formula, the ratio of the 2 would be close to 5:1. So it would take Decadron® (dexamethasone) 16 mg to be approximately the equivalent of Kenalog® (triamcinolone acetonide) 80 mg.
Avatar n tn I have some itch, is Triamcinolone Acetonide Cream USP 0.1% a good cream for this? Are there any side effects to this cream?
Avatar n tn Burning and itching are very common side effects. Hence your daughter must have screamed. For fungal infections this cream is available with nystatin in it. However please consult your daughter’s pediatrician or skin specialist before starting any medicine. Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
Avatar m tn Hi everybody, Would anyone be so kind to share his/her knowledge on how the side effects of topical corticosteroids, namely that of swelling/edema in subcutaneous tissue, as well as dilation of superficial blood vessels(capillaries), develop. I have developed these side effects from usage of two different corticosteroids for different skin problems.
Avatar m tn Hello, Hypopigmentation and muscle atrophy and thinning of skin are frequent side effects of steroids and you have injected a high potency steroid triamcinolone in your skin. This might have caused these side effects. Secondly vitiligo and if there is any loss of sensation in the area then leprosy also need to be ruled out. It will be best to get the diagnosis confirmed by a skin biopsy.
Avatar f tn t comment on the herb or the Triamcinolone but like all steroids there are many side effects....do speak with your Vet and tell them whats happening. Atopica(cyclosporine) is prescribed OFF label for cats...usually to treat Feline Granuloma Comlpex. the side effects are less than that of steroids.esp for long term use. . http://www.marvistavet.com/html/body_cyclosporine.
Avatar f tn What does skin atrophy look like? I used a steroid cream Triamcinolone on my face months back. I used it periodically over the course of 3 to 4 months. Now my facial skin looks almost scarred. I can't quite tell if it is permanent scarring or atrophy. Can a steroid cream produce scarring? Is this reversible? How long does it usually take to reverse?
Avatar m tn Visual diagnosis 3 years ago as plaque psoriasis in the genital area and prescribed Triamcinolone cream 1%. When I felt itchy, I began using the cream immediately. Within a week to 2 weeks of using a small amount of the cream daily my skin healed. Unfortunately it would recur within about a month. Visited derm dr. recently and he diagnosed as herpes. I have not used the cream and have had a lot of pain and outbreak in the same 2 sites.
Avatar m tn Over a year ago I had a bad groin itch which my dumb doctor gave me a topical cortico-steroid to apply directly to my testicles. I believe it was Triamcinolone Acetonide. Literally days later I developed a severe testicular pain and sexual dysfunction that is still present a year later. Doctors have not been able to find the cause of the pain and attribute it to psychological problems. I have also developed a severe sensitivity to glucose.
Avatar f tn cuts on some stretch marks that I have, is this normal? I got a shot of kenalog 40 and have been using triamcinolone acetone .5 for a different problem. Is this a side effect or something else?
Avatar m tn ) But how serious is an allergic reaction to triamcinolone? Or is it the combination of lidocaine and triamcinolone that caused the mess?
Avatar m tn I went to the doctor and he said it is irritated and gave me Triamcinolone Acetonide Topical. Its a steroid and antifungal cream. Hasnt been so effective though. I also used Aldara on the same spot but that was over 2 months ago. The current symptoms have been present for almost 2 weeks now.
Avatar m tn I am 68 and last year developed Lichen Simplex Cronicus on my buttocks. I used Triamcinolone,.5% and after a week it went away. This year it came back in May. The dermatologist gave me a shot and by early July it went away but in about 10 days came back. I was using Lidex, 2 times a day since and now today, the Doctor gave me a shot of Kenalog. I read where there is long term effects of both Lidex and kenalog. Is there some other choice? Is this condition food related by any chance?
Avatar m tn I said in the last 2 weeks I had had sex once with an ex-gf, with a condom (about 4 days prior to symptoms) and used a hotel skin cream to masturbate while on a business trip. The doctor prescribed Triamcinolone Acetonide. There is a lot of rash area on my penis, especially near the top of my penis (joining of the base to the head) and is very red with a burnt look to it (clear fluid covering burn area). I have taken some pictures to show but I don't think i'm allowed to post there.
Avatar m tn My dermatologist will only give me 2 steriod triamcinolone shots a year. I am well aware of what the side effects are but I dont care. Do any of you doctors out there give more than 2 a year? The shot seems to only work for about 3 months than I have to wait and suffer since cream and oitments dont work anymore and have horrible cosmetic side effects. I am a healthy 21 year old mal and have had this for 5 years on my face. Never had it as a child and no one in my family history.
Avatar f tn It was resistent to topical steroids, acular and sub-tenon triamcinolone but responded well to intravitreal triamcinolone. However, my eye pressure went up to 36 and my eyelid started to droop and it took several months before these side effects resolved. Now my CME has recurred. I am seeing a retina specialist who is very conservative in using steroids. I have had 4 intravitreal Avastin injections since April with absolutely no improvement.
Avatar m tn 1 prescribed Triamcinolone cream and told me to use it one week on and then take a one week break for several months. I did that for two months and nothing improved. Another Dermatologist thought my immune system caused the reaction and prescribed Tacrolimus ointment...told me to put it on until the color came back. I did that for 3 months and didn't notice any significant change....only occasional peeling of the skin next to the head of my penis!
Avatar f tn There is currently no known cure for keratosis pilaris, however, there are effective treatments available which make its symptoms less apparent. Treatment includes tretinoin or Triamcinolone cream or Adapalene, a retinoid medication. Exfoliation, intensive moisturizing creams, creams and lotions containing alpha hydroxy acids and urea may be used to temporarily improve the appearance and texture of affected skin.
Avatar n tn I tried using moisturizers to control this but they only helped a little. I went to my primary-care physician and she prescribed me steroid (triamcinolone acetonide 0.1%) cream and ointment (the cream was to be used once a day in the mornings, and the ointment was to be used once a day in the evenings). She instructed me to use the cream/ointment very sparingly, avoid getting or rubbing it into my eyes, and to only use for 14 days. After 14 days I am supposed to switch to an emollient.
Avatar f tn I'm 19 years old. I've had 3 ringworm outbreaks in less than a year, but I'm still not sure if it's ringworm. It always starts out with 1, 2, or 3 small red bumps. All the bumps have a white head and can be ruptured. If i scratch it or rupture the bumps by applying cream, it spreads. It is itchy, but only sometimes. But it never forms a circle. The bumps itself is in a circular form, but it is just a cluster of small raised bumps, not a ring with a clear center.
Avatar n tn Hi, i have a dry red area on the head of my penis. I'm not circumcised. It has been like this for maybe 4mths and was probably caused by not using a condom. In the past i treated it with Canestan cream and it stopped it drying out but was occasionally itchy. It never quit so i saw a doctor who put me on some tablets (sorry don't have name) and i had to apply triamcinolone acetonide lotion twice a day after showering.
Avatar n tn If the rash has already faded, it is best to stop the Triamcinolone cream. This is because side effects of this medication includes: drying or cracking of the skin, itching, burning or changes in skin color. (http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/druginfo/medmaster/a601124.html) Showering or bathing daily, keeping the groin area dry, using powder around the groin area to prevent excess moisture, avoiding tight fitting clothes and changing underwear at least once a day may help.
Avatar f tn I went to my doctor she gave me triamcinolone cream. She checked me and ask If the irritatiOn hurts to the touch and also checked other areas around the genital area. Nothing hurts at alll doesn't hurt to urinate and there's no discharge. She said it might be an allergic reaction to the condom or maybe irritation from oral sex before hand. Is there a possibility it is irritated from the friction of intercourse when it was unprotected?
Avatar m tn I have been on cetirizine for several years for itchy hands and feet, the dermatographism seemed to be connected to the intake of cetirizine and lessened in severity when I changed my allergy pill or stopped all together. I was given rounds of Prednisone, shots, Triamcinolone Acetonide 1% cream which causes periorbital dermatitis. That lead to having to take four weeks of minocycline. I now will have spontaneous eruptions of a red itchy rash with small raised bumps mostly on my torso or arms.
1292023 tn?1272203010 I went to a dermatologist and he said I had ezema and prescribed me Triamcinolone Acetonide Cream USP, 0.1%. Is that what I need to put on it? Please give me your advise on this. I have had this over 2 months and I am so tired of trying to get it well. I also had a perm and the next day my fingers started doing this. I burned my hair bad. Could this be associated with this? Thank you so far. My dermatologist didn't really know what this was when I went to him.
