Responding first to the title: Too much is made in various educational resources, and especially on line, about potential confusion between yeast or other fungal infections and genital herpes. In fact, they are very rarely confused with one another, except in one special circumstance, which doesn't apply in your case.

Triamcinolone is a high potency steroid and is not without side effects. Regarding the fungal infection, wash the area and then dry thoroughly by pat drying, not rubbing. It is important that the skin is not damp because the damp skin is an ideal site for fungi to multiply. Also wear cotton underwears and change them twice a day.
Also apply topical antifungals like Lamisil or Monistat. Severe cases may need oral antifungals for which I suggest you to consult a dermatologist.
It's been a month and a half or so that I have been dealing with extremely annoying vaginal symptoms. These include white "sticky" discharge, and intense itching. I thought it was a yeast infection (especially since I had just been on antibiotics) and tried everything to make it go away...applying yogurt to the area, garlic, taking garlic supplements... I used two 3-day suppository treatments. Nothing worked. So I went to the doctor, who prescribed 2 doses of oral fluconazole.
Initial diagnosis was a yeast infection as well as a bladder infection. She prescribed me diflucan, an antibiotic, and nystatin and triamcinolone acetonide cream. I wasn't able to immediately pick up the medications, and didn't begin treatment for another 10 hours or so. The next day I was still in moderate pain with extremely painful urination. I continued with the antibiotic and triamcinolone cream. Initially the cream gave me temporary relief.
They claim that if no success, in light of the other failed 17 kinds of treatment, that there is a more sinister and life threatening issue and not a yeast infection at all but something that replicates it's appearance. Yeast and mucous go hand in hand with the creation of most every disease that exists...so I guess my obsession with suicide over all this can be laughed at by all others and relieved by me if I just take myself out. The last laugh will be mine.
imagine swollen skin which heals and is now stretched and thin also very shine in the right lighting and soft like glass...Does anyone have any suggestions??? It doesn't bother me at all its right under the foreskin it doesn itch or anything doesn't seem to get bigger either, is there any way i had a fungus which healed and left that rash type of mark? And also the doctor tested me for all type of stds all negative.
I went to my DR years ago and his intial diagnosis was a yeast infection. He prescribed to me Nystatin and Triamcinolone Acetonide Cream. I used it and it seemed to control the itching but never made it go away. I eventually went to a dermatologist and he presribed to me Cordran Lotion and 200 MG of Fluconazole tablets. They both seem to control the problem but again, does not make it go away. Any ideas?
I ended up having a yeast infection (never got tested for it, but had all the symptoms and visually it looked just like other penile yeast infections and was irritated only when left moist and damp.) On top of having unprotected sex with my co worker, I was drinking a lot of beer / alcohol at the time, eating unhealthy, surfing a lot, sacrificing personal hygiene, and smoking cigarettes (which lowered my immune system) - pretty much asking for a yeast infection.

looked at it very carefully and stated that it was a yeast infection. Prescribed Difucan and Nystatin w/triamcinolone and said to keep it dry w/ baby powder cornstarch. After 3 days the redness and burning on my scrotum was gone and the rash that had spread to my shaft had started to fade. After 10 days the scrotum is fine, but the rash that was on my shaft is now peeling as if the yeast has dead(die-off?) and now my body is trying to shed it.
I went to the hospital to get checked out and they told me it was a yeast infection. The doctor perscribed me Nystatin Triamcinolone Acetonide Cream USP. A few days later the rash went away. About two weeks ago the rash came back after having unprotected sex with my g/f. I still had a big bottle of cream left so ive been using it. The rash this time didnt appear as red as it did when I first got it. I dont know what to do there are no blisters just a minor itchy irratation.
so i called pharmacist and asked if nystatin and triamcinolone acetonide cream was ok to use and the pharmacist said yes.. so i used it for about three weeks and it still the same. what should i do?

Maybe the cream you were using was not strong enough to help you against that yeast infection originally, and that's the reason why it comes and goes. But I agree with your statement: masturbating while having lesions produced by fungi was causing you bigger cuts on the head of your penis (which is not as thick and resistant as normal skin).
By all means do not scratch the area this makes it worse and drives infection down more layers of skin Shower and clean the area. Then try putting a half yeast infection cream and half hydrocortisone cream on the affected area and around it. Apply for about a week 2 times a day morning and night. Its the best fit for those sensitive areas.Lol Yeast infection cream kills the fungus and the hydrocortisone relieves the itch and promotes skin grow.
My doctor gave me a cream to inject into my vagina at night for three nights and it worked wonders...no more discharge, no itching, and no burning...
Iam so tired of a rash that keeps coming up, it will clear up then a few days later come back.. My dr has put me on triamcinolone 1% cream. Iam a very clean person and this rash keeps showing up under my armpit and right below.. any suggestion. While i use the cream it will clear up then come back if i stop.. Iam so discourage from this. Any advice might help...
My doctor diagnosed it as a yeast infection similar to jock itch. i was given nystatin/triamcinolone acetonide cream to use. It keeps the rash from getting worse but it has not gone away. my underwear causes irritation. No weeping at the site either and no odor. I do not think it is yeast but do not know what it is. Whay do you think?
What you have is certainly not behaving like herpes usually does and a negative after 8.5 weeks is a really good sign.
I would recommend seeing a dermatologist. My first thoughts were a yeast infection which can indeed affect the scrotum and cause an annoying itch which I've experienced myself however it would respond to the cream you were prescribed.
Went back in and she said it looked like a yeast infection. She prescribed Nystatin and Triamcinolone. It cleared it right up. However it came back about a week and a half later. Then I was given fluconazole. Doc had me on that for 1 week. If anything it seemed like it made it worse. VERY ITCHY! Now doc is having me go see a dermatologist in 3 weeks to see exactly what it is. I'm 25 years old, married with 2 kids, healthy and have NEVER had any problems with yeast.
Now I am pregnant and my OB thought I had yeast infection and prescribed metronidazole vaginal gel .75% for 5 days. (no testing to confirm what type of infection-just visual examination) I got better then got worse with itching, pain and she prescribed monostat....but then I examined myself closer and realized it was my first re-outbreak of the HSV2. I had minor spotting and went to see my OB and she confirmed what I already knew. She told me to double my valtrex for 10 days.
1% cream to treat a fungal/yeast infection of my groin and armpit areas that I have been suffering from for the last two years. I have been using the cream for a few weeks now and I have noticed slight discoloration of the skin in the areas I have applied the cream. I have stopped using the cream as a result. Will the skin discoloration clear up? If so how long will it take?
