I used to take tri-lo-sprintec tablet generic for (ortho tri-cyclen LO) for the past 6 six years, but in Michigan we do not have it in generic form anymore. Therefore this month i started taking Eth estradi/norgestimate and I feel very lazy and sleepy all the time and I see that I have been gaining weight. I'm on birth control pills called Tri-sprintec. It's the generic of Ortho Tri-cyclen. I stopped taking them for a little while partly because my partner and I really have no time to be intimate and it's hard for me to remember to take them everyday. Anyhow, I started taking them again two months ago.
So I started taking Tri-Sprintec a little over 3 months ago. For history, I was using the Nuvaring for w years prior to this and never had any issues.
But about 2 months ago, I noticed my stomach was started to stick out more than it had in the past. I was not gaining weight on the scale and had recently lost weight before this. I have been watching it and noticed that it is getting worse. I also bloat even more after eating. My fingers swell and fluctuate in size.
I'm 18 years old and I started taking tri sprintec birth control at the beginning of September and my period started in the second week of the pack. Its been 2 and half weeks and my period still won't stop and it keeps getting heavier and heavier and I've never had this problem. I called my gyno and they said to wait about 3 months and see what happens, but I don't think I can wait that long my period and cramps are killing me and I'm really moody lately.

Hi. I am 18 years old, and have been having issues with hair loss. It all began about 2 years ago when I initially switched up my diet and lost weight quite rapidly. I lost my period for about 6 months and my hair shed. I had blood work done then, and no irregularities were present. My hair loss eventually subsidized (although my hair never fully grew back), and my period returned. However, in June I missed my period, and my hair loss returned.
Just kidding... I am on Tri-Sprintec, not Ortho-Tri-Cyclen Lo. I don't know if it makes a difference though.

I've been on tri sprintec (combination pill) for about 4 years now. My period ended this past Sunday and on the same day I was supposed to pick up my new pack and start it that Sunday. I forgot and didn't end up getting it until Tuesday. so Tuesday I took two pills (for Sunday and Monday) and Wednesday I took two pills ( for Tuesday and Wednesday). By Thursday I was back on track and Took one pill. Friday I took one pill and Saturday I took one pill. Saturday night I had unprotected sex.
I am now taking Ortho Tri-Cyclen and have actually begun to FINALLY start losing weight. My weight loss is not much yet, but I was wondering if taking these birth control pills is actually the reason for my weight loss? I know birth control pills are supposed to help with hormonal imbalances, so would taking them also enable me to finally start losing weight, despite the fact that so many women say birth control pills cause them to GAIN weight?
It is absolutely Normal to lose weight in the first trimester of pregnancy. It's not exactly easy to put on weight with all the nausea and morning sickness women experience in the first tri. If your ob hasn't made a big issue about your weight loss then don't stress about it.
I have been on tri-sprintec for 2 months. This sunday i will be starting my third pack of pills. So right now I'm on the sugar pills and this will be my third day taking them. I haven't started my period yet. My boyfriend and I just had sex last week and we used a condom a couple times but we also didn't use one. He pulled out every time even when we used a condom. Could i be pregnant or do you think i'll start my period soon?
I am currently taking Tri-Sprintec, and a week before and after my period I do not have discharge. However, the other two weeks, I have excessive discharge daily. I've talked to my MD about it and she thinks that since I don't have any other crazy side effects or issues besides the discharge, then I should basically deal with it. Because If I go onto another birth control I might have worse side effects etc.
I got my blood test done and pregnancy test done and everything came out good but got prescribed metformin, progesterone, and 3 month supply of Tri-Sprintec for a regulation of my period. I am on week 3 on my first pack of birth control as i already finished the 12 prescribed progesterone pills that i had to take and still on my supply on metformin. So in February I was bleeding for 2-3 weeks, went to my doctor had an ultrasound and she told me that my lining was thin and that was the cause. I asked if I needed to stop taking it or switch she said no that it was fine. I was mid pack when I went. I'm on the pill(tri-sprintec). I finished that pack and went onto my sugar pills I was still bleeding so didn't pay any mind. The bleeding stopped and was already on a new pack, finished that pack was on my sugar pills and no period.
