I was on a triphasic pill for years (Tri Sprintec). It was good for keeping acne under control (which is why I originally went on it at age 20). But in the last few years I began suffering from extreme fatigue, lots of water retention, vaginal dryness, etc, and as all my tests were normal my PCP suggested the pill was causing it.
I went off the pill completely 4 months ago and about 2 months after started experiencing extremely oily skin and massive hair shedding, among other things.
Yesterday my dermatologist prescribed me 25mg Spironolactone 2xD and Tri-Sprintec BCP to help clear my skin up. I trust her judgement with placing me on both of those medications, but what worries me is that it may be too much of a hormone change for my body. I know that birth control pills increase estrogen levels in the body and that spironolactone is an antiandrogen drug, and naturally the body will replace androgens with estrogen.
I've been on tri-sprintec for 10 months an have never felt this before though.

I have been on tri-sprintec birth control for 8+ years. I seemed to get a zit here and there on the side of my chin around my period, but for the past 6-8 months I seem to have constant breakouts mainly on the sides of my chin. It is all the time, not just around my period. The right side is worse than the left. The rest of my skin is clear. I have tried antibiotics, Retin-A, changing all my face products, serums, facials and even a juice cleanse.
My next cycle was regular 28days. One day 1 of my period I started tri-sprintec, but discontinued it after 3 pills. This month my period is now going on 5 days late and 2 pregnancy tests have been negative. Is this normal? I did have unprotected sex during this month, but my husband did not ejaculate inside of me. So in February I was bleeding for 2-3 weeks, went to my doctor had an ultrasound and she told me that my lining was thin and that was the cause. I asked if I needed to stop taking it or switch she said no that it was fine. I was mid pack when I went. I'm on the pill(tri-sprintec). I finished that pack and went onto my sugar pills I was still bleeding so didn't pay any mind. The bleeding stopped and was already on a new pack, finished that pack was on my sugar pills and no period.

I'm 18 years old and I started taking tri sprintec birth control at the beginning of September and my period started in the second week of the pack. Its been 2 and half weeks and my period still won't stop and it keeps getting heavier and heavier and I've never had this problem. I am currently taking Tri-Sprintec, and a week before and after my period I do not have discharge. However, the other two weeks, I have excessive discharge daily. I've talked to my MD about it and she thinks that since I don't have any other crazy side effects or issues besides the discharge, then I should basically deal with it. Because If I go onto another birth control I might have worse side effects etc.
They say i have symptoms of pcos (facial hair and acne) they tested me and my DHEAS LEVEL and TESTOSTERONE were kinda high but all my other hormones were fine. So they started me on SPRINTEC N SPIRONPROLACTONE and i was wondering will this help or do i need to try METFORMIN OR CLOMID.... i also have a cyst on my right ovary. What is the next step for me.
I got my blood test done and pregnancy test done and everything came out good but got prescribed metformin, progesterone, and 3 month supply of Tri-Sprintec for a regulation of my period. I am on week 3 on my first pack of birth control as i already finished the 12 prescribed progesterone pills that i had to take and still on my supply on metformin. I am concerned about my late period. I have been on Tri-Sprintec for quite a few months now. I'm currently on my last week taking the inactive white pills. So far I took about 4 of these pills and haven't gotten my period yet. Last month, I was under a lot of stress and I got it twice in that month. Other than that month, my period seemed to come on time with the pills.
I am concerned about this. When would I need to take a pregnancy test and how long should I wait to see a gyny?
I'm taking tri-previfem it's a generic for sprintec.
