The first summer began with deep scabs and ended with a scar that looked like a mustache and wrinkles around my mouth with some pitting. There is also pitting around my brows, one of which turned into a wrinkle above one brow. The wrinkles began as pits at the corners of my mouth and turned into
wrinkles within a two week time frame between the fourth and fifth month.
I have a redness, browness, little bit rash, and weird looking wrinkles/scales near the border of my lips. The scales and wrinkles are also very flat and smooth, while the normal parts are puffy and fuller as usual and normal. The middle of my lips are not as affected, and the inside of my mouth either.. it is just the outer courners that have been affected.
I have no clue what this is do you think it is..

Fine wrinkles can be decreased by adequate moisturisation and hydration.Bur for deep wrinkles,botox shots,microdermabrasion,dermal fillers such as hyaluronic acid, collagen and Radiesse and laser treatment are used .I would suggest you to discuss about these treatment options with your dermatologist. When I was younger around 11 I use to lick my lips and soon it worsened a lot and turned into a messy infection of some sort. I went to dermatologist and was given bunch of different creams. It took awhile to clear up since my lips are very prone to being dry.
I'm currently 21 and ever since then I've always had a red lining of my lips. Its especially visible on the lower lip, and gets redder after I eat or if it's irritated.

Hi, you doing I really hope you can help me or maybe prepare me for the results I will hear when I go to the doctor. For the past week I had bumps on the side of my lips. I just thought they where reg. bumps so I started using clearasil & face masks to get rid of it. Then it started to go away so I started to put coco butter to clear the marks. Then a few weeks later it reappear but now they started to surround the whole side of my lips.

Anyways i used it for 1week only, lip corner dont seem to lighten as fast as areas on and around the lips. I realised need to apply it directly on the black patches and not rub it all over. I almost had a white ring around my mouth. Nevertheless it did lighten, just that i am not sure if it will be completely gone. I would actually love to get some safer creams to try but so far did not really find any so this is the best bet.
If your cholesterol is normal then this is a normal aging change like your hair turning gray and wrinkles developing on the skin. No there is no treatment for it. It is not worth wearing colored contacts to hide the ring. I'm assuming you have seen an ophthalmologist but perhaps you haven't. In that case see an Eye MD ophthalmologist for a complete eye exam and to confirm this is a corneal arcus and not something like a peripheral corneal degeneration.

It happens very infrequently, maybe once a month at the most, but almost out of the blue at no special time of the day, a singular hive will appear around my lips. It's never quite in the same place, and lasts only for about 45 minutes, but it is always over/under one of my lips and is quite painful during the duration.

Hi, I used to sun bed tan every day last year for 3 months straight. I'm thinking my problem could be from the tanning bed damage. Ever since the tan has been fading I've been noticing different skin tones on my face. I have reddness on my cheeks...its not serious reddness its very very light reddness...almost a pink color on my upper cheek from my nose almost out to my ear. Then here is the worst part, around my mouth/lip area it is very pale! Now is this from past sun damage?
It does not mean that you lick the lips, but it is due to that redness or erythema around the lips is common in lip lickers and hence the term. Treatment consists of topical and oral antibiotics and anti-inflammatory drugs. A mild soap or soap substitute, such as Dove or Cetaphil should be used for washing. Scrubbing should be avoided.
If the symptoms are not controlled by topical antibiotics, then oral antibiotics may be needed. Please consult your dermatologist and discuss this with him.

Lately, and by lately I mean for the last two months, I've noticed a redness in the skin around my pubic region underneath my pubic hair. I don't shave down there or anything, I just trim sometimes. I just brushed i off as it being a sweaty area, but lately I've noticed the same redness on the back of my penis.

Retin A is tretinoin which is basically used for acne and it may cause dermatitis, redness, irritation, genitourinary, hepatic, ocular and nervous side effects. I suggest you to consult a dermatologist before using it for wrinkles. You can also go in for botox treatment.

Cheilitis(Inflammation of the skin on and around the lips)is often seen in atopic dermatitis.Diagnosed by bld test like RAST.Treatment is by topical steroids or oral therapy of corticosteroids in severe cases.Topical creams like tacrolimus ointment (Protopic) and pimecrolimus cream (Elidel) are also useful.
