I am 22 and have a yeast infection around my vagina which has spread a bit upwards towards the clitoris. i used an OTC cream which didn't cure it all through. at this point treat your kidney infection obviously and then follow up on things. you can get tested for std's while you have your period - makes no difference at all. What is important is that you waited enough time between the last time you had sex and getting tested. do you know what they tested you for too? odds are herpes wasn't a part of your std testing. you should follow up with a type specific herpes igg blood test 3 months after the last time you had sex.

So as for my bf, not long after I treated my yeast infection, he developed 3 small sores on the top of the crease on his penis. Not on his penis. He also noticed shedding on his penis, which he has gotten before from my yeast infection I am assuming, and went away pretty fast. He has no pain when urinating, it doesnt burn, and the sores are healing, but sometimes open up because of where they are. I have been to my doctor and told him all of this. He doesnt seem to think it is an std.

I had a yeast infection after my last period, i just started my period yesterday and when i wipe or take out the tampon it feels like i'm using razor blades. it also feels like i'm swollen in that area which makes it hard to take out the tampon. I don't have pads at the moment or i would use them. please help.

Did your MD state you had an yeast infection or just an infection and not tell you what type? Did you MD tell you to treat it? Ok, so just yesterday I went into the doctor for my pap smear, and while she was in there doing her thing she mentioned that I have a mild yeast infection. Now the thing is folks... I have NO symptoms. No chunky discharge (just my normal discharge that has never been anywhere near the chunky cottage cheese thats supposed to signify a yeast infection), no irritation, burning or pain.

I started fighting constant yeast infections when I was around 20. Now 44. Treat the infection with Monostat or something like that and then really watch what you eat! It will keep coming back unless you treat it from the inside with diet.

Hi, It is interesting that there is no itch, it sounds like a yeast infection. Women can have yeast infections and not be aware of it. Since you got this after sexual intercourse and not prior to intercourse it is unlikely that it is ballanitis. Ballanitis can also cause white patches of skin. A steroid or antibiotic cream will help to treat this. In the case of yeast Canesten or Monistat can be used to treat it.

Oh I had that at 7weeks. You should treat it because it ***** it starts to get itchier and it would bug me while waking it also hurts to have sex.

And brown mixed in or a light brown color is just old blood doing the same. Treat the yeast infection. Either see a doctor for this and they prescribe a pill or go the OTC route with Monostat one day ovule. (put in place at night and wear a pad).

Yeast is typically not fishy..sounds more like BV to me...in which case monistat will not treat.

I went to dr she said had yeast infection tested it on microscope and got treated with diflucan it went away and had sex and three days later i got another one. Could it be something else..

I got a yeast infection twice through out my pregnancy it sounds like that is what she has. My ob let me treat it myself with over the counter stuff first I used the store brand second time I used monistat. My partner has never felt different and has had no symptoms of anything from the yeast infection. I've heard it's hard for a male to get one from thier partner. And I have no idea how you would treat it for a male either.

Have you had the yeast cultured to see what kind it is? There is an ear medication called Otomax that is used to cure yeast infections in the ear and it is very effective against the Malassezia pachydermatis yeast organism. Why not talk to your vet about using Otomax if you have not yet tried it?

Sigh. I woke up a few mornings ago with the feeling that I was getting a yeast infection. I haven't had one in years. Darn. I read in What to Expect that one shouldn't self treat it with over the counter meds and that instead you should consult your doctor. Has anyone else had one yet? Apparently it's common.
