Avatar f tn i went to my nuro today he said stop the verapamil it could be the cause. should i go to the ER? this is really bothering me and is there anything they can do at the ER for me?
Avatar f tn I haven't seen any evidence to suggest so. Just to clarify something Cindy mentions above, Verapamil isn't a beta blocker. Verapamil is a calcium channel clocker. Verapamil is a class IV antiarrhythmic. It alters calcium uptake in the heart's muscle cells. Its intended use is for lowering blood pressure. One could say that being on it for 5 years caused your heart muscle to get used to it. Stopping it abruptly was a no-no.
Avatar f tn i am on prednisone and verapamil for my migraines. been on them for fifteen days. today my cheeks started to swell and feel painful. its hard to open my mouth and drink could this be b/c of the the prednisone? im calling the dr tomorrow morning.
Avatar f tn I'm on verapamil ER 180 mg daily. Have been taking Verapamil for 17 years. I've never felt quite "right" on it but it hasn't been awful, either. However, over the past year or two, I'm having lots of flushing, I get SO hot, and also have some shortness of breath. I am also on levothyroxine for my thyroid; however, that has been well-controlled for a long time. I really suspect it is my Verapamil causing these side effects.
343006 tn?1314446471 my cardio doctor who I saw meny times as I complained about it over and over, refused to take me off the verapamil -and gave me clondine hcl at night half pill to take with the verapamil. its been working fine for months, but now im getting dry eyes and mouth and my upper swells up on one side upper lip -though the b.p is down -but dreams are back again and are stressfull dreams going on.. its insane really..
Avatar f tn He told me to go to the urgent care at the hospital. Got there and they put me in the ER. I was there for a few hours then sent home minus the Verapamil. Recently I was put on Diltiazem and it worked just fine. Some fatigue and brain fog but no chest pain or SOB.
Avatar n tn Then about 5 years ago I had them really bad after drinking 3 huge glasses of coke during a 2 hour dinner at a restaurant and ended up in the ER they were so bad. They told me to take magnesium and see a cardiologist. The cardiologist ran more tests and said to avoid caffeine and continue with the magnesium. They went away. Then about a year later they returned but not too bad. Went to see the cardiologist and he determined they were triggered by hormone changes due to me age.

Avatar m tn Hi.... I am a 30 y/o female who was dx with psvt in july 2010. My svt was seen on a 48 hr event monitor and I had rates of 188 from simple activity such as climbing my steps. My EP/Cardio attempted an ablation on 7/15/10. They weren't able to sustain the svt long enough to ablate and discovered that my accesorry pathway is up against my SA node so I run the risk of needing a pacemaker if the svt is ablated.
11452490 tn?1418747669 Hi, I had an increase from 2-4 weeks, from normal being 100/64 to 152/90-94. Even went to ER, felt so weird. They dx hypertensive, added 40 mg of verapamil, which I took for SVT, it didn't bring it down. It normalized on it's own(I stopped extra verapamil because of Harvoni Q's), By 5th week. I have no answer, doc thought it was Harvoni related, I'm not sure. Just keep a check, though higher, your BP @139/77, is not very high.
Avatar m tn Have a bad headache and no pain meds at home. Have a little of the Buprenorphine hcl left from when my cat was neutered. It was given to him orally at a dose of 0.3cc. I looked it up and it looks like a "human" drug also, but am wondering if I am able to take this. I do hae a little chronic bronchitis, but not full blown copd i don't think. What do you think? Could I take this. Should I add to water or put under my tongue,.
Avatar n tn my friend just started taking trandolapril 1mg and Irbesartan its only been a couple days but she feels awful dizzy, heart palpatations, head ache and her blood pressure is still really high 190/110 should she just stick it out?
Avatar f tn It should also be noted that I have a heart condition called Parasoxymal Supraventricular Tachycardia and high blood pressure although it is still unclear as to why I have HBP. I am 28 y/o and only weigh 95 lbs now. I am currently taking Clonidine HCL, Verapamil, and am on an aspirin regimine as well.
Avatar n tn I hav taken Effexor Hcl 150 mg generic called Venlafaxine HCL ER Capsules 150mg, for years. A new doc wrote for the same medication in tablet form by mistake instead of the caps. Will it work the same for me?
324184 tn?1308076203 I have experienced little floaters of light recently which usually leads to a migraine.I was perscribed verapamil and sumatriptan by a ER physician in 2009 . I do not take any prescription medications at this time for migraines .
343006 tn?1314446471 Hi. Been there, done that. Toprol was horrendous for me also, it MADE my chest hurt which I had no previous problems with, caused coughing, fatigue, I actually saw trees that looked like they had a blue haze around them (visual disturbance). My ex-doctor kept pushing this stuff, until I put my foot down. I then went to verapamil which really helped my migraines, blood pressure.
Avatar f tn til Monday unless I end up in ER again cuz Im still not feeling well. Still feeling weak, etc. When I went to ER a few days ago he mentioned it could still be my thyroid but I guess they didnt check it becuz he just said everything came back ok so Im assuming they just did regular blood work. If he thought it was thyroid related I would have thought they would have checked it! I may end up going in to a different ER and get a second opinion and see what they will do.
Avatar n tn Apple cider vinegar is a way to cleanse the body and balance acid and alkaline, but it doesn't increase stomach acid on a permanent basis. Betaine HCL is used for gallstones, not for stomach acidity, since it doesn't do that either. The reason is that neither stays in the stomach, so it can't permanently alter the acid/alkaline balance. The caution about HCL is more about using pure HCL food grade.
Avatar f tn Around Thanksgiving I got a horrible migraine. It was an 8/10. I tried 6 over the counter medicines, like Dayquil or ibuprofen. It never worked and didn't numb the pain. I went to the ER and they gave me an IV and medicines through that but they also didn't do anything. The doctors there didn't run tests or even say what could be wrong. I then had to take 500mg of Divalproex Sodium twice a day for two weeks.
Avatar f tn hi, i want to ask you that which of the digoxin or verapamil are better for prophylactic treatment of paroxysmal superaventricular tachycardia for sone one who was treatet with intravenous adenosine?
