Avatar f tn Hi, welcome to the forum. Getting here and looking for answers is the first step. The withdrawal is uncomfortable at the least, but it's a 14 day span at the most for the physical symptoms. How much and how long and what drug have you been using. There is always someone here who can offer more specific advice.

Avatar n tn Does anyone have any recommended medications that will help me get through tramadol withdrawal? I am struggling with withdrawal symptoms as I ween off of this medication. My doctor has not been helpful in assisting me with my withdrawal symptoms.
Avatar f tn Tramadol has generally a worse withdrawal then Vicodon but not that much difference for most people. Tramadol also helps deppression even if you know it or not and therefore is best to be tapered off slowly. I want to say that usually that doesn't work and would be best to go cold turkey but check with a doctor first. How long have you been taking it and how much of each drug? I want to also give some advice if you find it too hard to quit then I would recommend rapid detox.
Avatar m tn I would suggest you re-post this in the Addiction: Substance Abuse forum as it is pretty active and you will find many people knowledgable about tramadol and much, much support. Or, you can also find EmilyPost's continuing journal on ultram/tramadol withdrawal. I am a recovering addict but tramadol was not my drug of choice.
Avatar n tn can i get high by using tramadol wich means if i take enough of it will i get a good feeling.
Avatar m tn My names is Brian and I need a forum for my tramadol addiction. I have taken tramadol for 4 years now and I have finally decided it's time to move on. I am slowly trying to kick it. I'm about four days in (since I made the decision) and I am down to taking 2 to 3 a day (up from about 8 to 10 a day). I'm starting to get jitters and I am having difficulty trying to focus. I also feel like my head is spinning.
Avatar f tn Hi lil_love_fan, this forum is mainly used for Physical and Mental abuse, while the Addictions, Substance Abuse, is a forum where your question may get the most traffic. Also, when you're on the forums page, on the right side there's a box called community search, where you can type "tramadol withdrawal" and a few threads will come up with that information specifically, also asked by members here. My husband and myself have 14 years now clean and sober.
722310 tn?1234762137 Hi Sorry to hear you are having a rubbish time. I have been on Tramadol for nearly3 years now. I have done some research regarding withdrawal as I am aware my body is dependant on it. If you search 'emily posts tramadol withdrawal and recovery room' in this site you will find a forum with lots of people discussing thier withdrawal experiances. It seems to be a mix of people who have been prescribed it and either used it as they were supposed to or have abused it.
Avatar m tn SubDoc Jeff addressed a tram withdrawal on his Expert Addiction forum......you might want to check that out - - probably via search engine. If I remember correctly his advice was a long steady taper....... The amino acids 5-HTP and SAMe (either one) may help - - Not aware of other measures.........Time is a big factor..

Avatar n tn That is tramadol withdrawal! When i was in deep withdrarwal there would be a knock at the door, and I would literally just freeze and not move. Not answer the door. Barely answered my phone. Barely could even write on here. I mean actually it was even hard for me to find this forum! So, I promise you 100% that you are OVER the worst part of it, even though the next few days will be up and down, Gatting past Day 7 was a major shift for me. You and I have similar back injuries.
Avatar f tn I feel awful but not as bad as coming off of Oxy Contin and mad at myself as I thought Tramadol was habit forming but had not physical withdrawal. I got a few ativan at the clinic, that is all they would give me so at least I feel a little more relaxed...
Avatar f tn Hi, I am a 24 year old registered nurse, and I have read all of these postings and researched tramadol, and have realized that I am addicted to it. I have recently been experiencing dizziness, a feeling like I'm coming out of my skin, diarrhea and nausea. I never would have believed it was tramadol withdrawal. I just took my normal dose of it, and my symptoms are gone, I'm taking that as a big sign of addiction.
Avatar n tn I have used but only for 1 year and was 50mg 3 times a day, I weaned it off over a week and I had no withdrawal symptoms at all, but I visit the Substance Abuse Forum daily and there had been so many similar stories about Tramadol that is alarming. The moderator Avisg used to be addicted to Tramadol, so you can ask her questions about it in that Forum.
Avatar f tn By all means talk to the folks in the SA forum for advice on how to minimise withdrawal symptoms but please also talk with your dr about this.
Avatar f tn Hey theirmommie72 you're going to be okay! tramahater is right - the wd's are tough - but doable. You have to want this MORE than anything you ever wanted in your life. I know you feel that way now, but in the next few days, you're going to be hurting and will want to turn back. DON'T. Getting off this poison was the best decision of my life. And it will be for you too. But you have to have patient during this process.
Avatar m tn I fought so *** hard to even get here, I just dont think I have anything left to keep fighting this hard, it just seems hopeless again. I found some old tramadol that I had, I am soooo tempted to just take a couple to see if it takes the edge off, and gives my body some relief. My entire body is hurting and aching, its just sore as heck. I can hardly do anything but sit and lay, and everytime I get up, I can hardly stand up strait to walk. its terrible.
