tramadol with caffeine

For the last 10 yeras I have been taking Treo (aspirin combined with caffeine - 500 mg aspirin - 50 mg caffeine) - over the years I have taken a little more and a little more.. the result being that until the day before yesterday I was taking 4 in the morning, 4 in the afternoon and 4 before sleepy time. Luckily I haven't had any ulcers or physical reactions but this abuse can't continue - thank god for the after-Tramadol hindsight clarity...

Hey there:) So it is day 2 of my taper and I feel pretty good! I only took 4 pills today and am proud of myself for not cheating and sticking to the taper. I felt really good all day long surprisingly on only 3 pills. Once I just took my 4th one, I am getting the restless legs now really bad. Why is that? You would think they wouldn't come just because I took another dose. Anyway, for those who are new I tried to quit CT Sunday night and that was a nightmare.

Have you tried the usual? APAP, ASA, or Motrin with a little caffeine? Ice pack to the base of your neck?

Also Fioricet has both a barbiturate and caffeine. Caffeine should be limited to 200 mg or less per day while pregnant and one Fioricet has 40mg. Definitely do some research before taking Fioricet while pregnant. I've been taking Tylenol for my migraines while pregnant which doesn't entirely get rid of them but at least keeps them at bay. I have also found that warm showers and a heating pad on my neck helps some. Best wishes for you...hopefully your migraines will ease up!

I've seen this time after time Nd never got any real answers why or how caffeine can be bad while trying to withdraw and to stay away from it! Just wondering what's the deal with that?!

I wonder why this question of whether tramadol is an opiod keeps coming up.I even got into an argument with my friend who is a 6th year med student about this.She said no it is not an opiate/opiod.She insisted on looking up the tech data on it and lo and behold IT IS! the naloxone tests,the lab rats etc.,etc. It is the same as any other except it has an added antidepressant component .There must be some doctor or professors at med school telling everyone it's not a narcotic opiod.

Can you buy codeine over the counter in the US (maybe that is dependent upon your state law)? Up here in Canada you can buy it in tablets adulterated with acetaminophen and caffeine (the ratio is 8mg/300mg/15mg respectively). If ya can, it will help get ya through the few days with minimal discomfort given that tramadol is a pretty weak ope. Don't eat gobs of it as the acet. is hepatoxic (bad for your liver).

I would agree with all the above. There is a controversy about the addictive qualities of Tramadol. It is not a narcotic but works similar to Morphine. Many ppl have reported that felt addicted and went through withdrawals. Your friend is is need of medical evaluation asap. I hope he will agree with that opinion and see a physician.

HELP! Coming off tramadol and the fatigue, depression, anxiety is killing me. I have no patience at all. I am a stay at home mom to my 3 yr old son, my husband is in the military and currently at training for 10 days. I feel like I'm loosing my mind. I take a klonopin or two during the day, but that just increases the fatigue. My poor boy just wants to run and play and have fun (like we did when I was strung out on trams), I feel horrible, the guilt isn't helping anything.

Hello it's me AGAIN sorry It is day 18 Tramadol free for me today and I just recently returned back to work yesterday after 2 weeks off for my detoxing. I had a decent day yesterday it was invigorating in a sense actually being at work opiate free and not in "cloud boogie wonderland " with Tramadol in my system, I'm in the canteen posting this at the moment and these bloody "brain zaps" are driving me crackers!!

I've been taking Fioricet (generic) for 20 years not and I have been ordering it on the internet so far wthout any problems. But today, they sent me Tramadol and I don't really know what the difference is. I am so use to apap/butatbital/caffeine so I really pissed of that I got this drug that I have never used and don't know how it will affect me. ALso I think this is a totally different drug.

So I was just wondering if the fact that I wasn't using the same drug for like 3 months in a row everyday would make a difference? I made the mistake of trying to use a diff drug to get through each ones w/ds. Don't ask me why I thought this was smart lol. so I've been taking tramadol, hydrocodone, adderall, and just a few percocets but I wouldn't even count those. HI! I have been diagnosed with SFN, I have had 4 MRI´s, a punch biopsy, extensive blood tests (tested for lupus, aids, hepatitis, glucose tolerance, thyroids, ANA, and so on, they all came out ok). Im taking tramadol for pain, it takes the pain away but not the numbness, tingling. My Doctor recommended that the QSART test and a spinal tap, Is it absolutely necesary? Im scared of the spinal tap, im reading so many scary stories!

For some people caffeine does raise BG (caffeine is a stimulant). For others it does not raise BG. only way to tell is to test. Test before... drink... test after. if BG higher after than for you yes. HOWEVER do NOT do the test in the morning as you may have DP (Dawn Phenomenon) and that can sque the results of any testing in the morning.

I feel like the worst part with Fioricet so far is the caffeine withdrawal headaches. If I keep enough caffeine in my system I seem decently ok. Fioricet has always worked so well on my headaches (like 95% of the time) that its hard not to just kick a headache by taking a dose... not because I've "craving a high" or anything, but it just gets my headache so well. I was diagnosed with occipital neuralga- so i get alot of tension headaches starting with tightness in my neck.

It is hard but very doable,You have been taking it such a long time so first and foremost you must discuss with a doctor a taper schedule because tramadol has a risk of seizure associated with it.Secondly after such a long time taking tramadol a slow taper will lengthen the withdrawals (not eliminate them) but should be less severe.Plenty of advice can be given on easing the symptoms of detox.Again,discuss with a doctor firstly.Take care Harms.
