Vicodin is a higher pain killer than tramadol. Tramadol to me is no different to tylenol, then i have some friends that are addicted to it. I am coming off of vicodin and i dont sugest anyone take it for any periods of time. I dont know your story but if possible i would stray from vicodin. LIke i said i have used them both and vicodin gave the the pain relief and the "high" i was looking for tramadol didnt even touch the pain.
Does Tramadol have as much SSRI in it as Zoloft? Does 100mg of Tramadol have as much SSRI as say 50mg of Zoloft? I was taking Tramadol while I was going through Zoloft withdrawal and I'm just wondering if I stunted the healing process of my Zoloft withdrawal. My body and mind still don't feel 100% since quitting Zoloft, but it's definitely getting better.
I recently found myself in a position where I have no Vs and am unable to obtain any. My doc had given my Adderol for depression and for focusing so I can work. I find that when I'm going through the w/d, the adderol helps with the cravings and other w/d effects, except the sleepless nights, crazy legs and no appetite.
I was doing up to 20 Vs a day for chronic back and neck pain from ruptured discs. So many of us have this problem.
So i went to my Doc and told him what was going on and asked him if there is anything out there not addicting and he told me Tramadol is not. I was on Tramadol for 7-8 months and they did not do as well for pain as the Vicodin did also felt very detached from everything. Of course i ran out one day with the Tramadol and was now up to 6tabs. daily. I went in severe whithdrawl could not sleep stay warm keep warm and the shakes. Went to the clinic my Doc was out and talked to someone else.
It is easier to get off Vicodin than ultram (aka tramadol) because tram is synthetic and contains an antidepressant. Like sub and methadone, also synthetic, the withdrawal is long and arduous. Vicodin is the weaker of the narcotic pain meds and detox, although not fun, is over relatively quick. 1 to 2 weeks tops. Tram w/d lasts for months.
I had an unusual reaction to Tramadol, too. Although, Tramadol worked for a little while. I took it for only a few months, then it started affecting my speech and I was no longer able to take it.
I wonder what the "experts" think people with chronic pain should do when these are the only pain meds that touch their pain? I realize that there is prescription pain killer abuse by both doctors and patients, but what about the people who aren't misusing these pain meds?
I have a herniated disc l5-s1, I have been on tramadol 2-50mg pills every 3-4 hrs due to the severe pain and vicodin as needed when therapy got really painful, the dr told me to take 2 pills but failed to change it in the computer now I'm cut off till 2 weeks from now . I'm in chronic pain and have about 25 vicodin left. I'm worried about the withdrawl symptoms from the tramadol.
ve been feeling extremely bored and also experiencing severe anhedonia/dysphoria ever since I quit these drugs. I have a feeling that this is caused by the Tramadol because whenever I took it to get high, the Tramadol would make me feel mentally numb, like it made me feel dumb and not mentally sharp. I was only on Zoloft for a month. I stopped cold turkey because I didn't like how they suppressed my real emotions. It wasn't a problem stopping cold turkey for me.
I'm only temporarily using Tramadol to help with my Vicodin withdrawal because I stopped it cold turkey and I'm having very uncomfortable chills as a result and the tramadol is helping a lot. I'm only going to be using Tramadol for a few more days until my body recovers from not having any Vicodin.
I don't get some of the doctors. It sounds like some of you'all ran into the same thing with Tramadol vs. Vicodin. My doctore told me over and over it would be no problem to get off Tramadol because it was non-narcotic and offered it in place of Vicodin. I took it but the side effects were immediate and I went off within a few days and back on Vicodin(Issues there though). Point is, are they reading the same medical journals other docs are?
I was terrified of withdrawls but I have also been on Tramadol for the past 12 months as well as Vicodin. Suprisingly with the Tramadol I felt vertually no withdrawls. However as Christos stated Tramadol can be quite addictive and cause siezures. I blacked out and got a concussion a few weeks ago, I was alone so I don't know what happened if it was or was not a siezure so please be careful if you take it.
I also am taking a regular routine of Ativan.
The first time I went into WD I had only take 30 pills .ohhhh also taking like a handful at a time of tramadol can cause sezuires .If you abuse tramadol you can sezuires you also want to be sure never to take it while on an SSRI AD honestly I would not want to mix tramadol with and AD .Not only does it increase your seizure risk it also raises the risk of serotonin syndrome which can be fatal.
Hi everyone, I am new and just had a couple of concerns/questions....I take vicodin when I can to feel "fluffy" and then my girlfriend gave me Tramadol because she didn't have any vicodin and I took two of those sometimes 3 (50mg)....It isn't the same feeling as vicodin.....I'm just wondering what it is doing....why it isn't the same? Are 3 a day safe? I am not taking any drug everyday.
ultracet has acetominophen (tylenol) in them, and the tramadol doesnt. They can come in varying dosages. Why is he taking them? Does he want to quit? Tram is a dangerous drug to take and to stop, you have to taper down slowly or you could have seizures. You can have seizures from takign too many as well. How long has he been on them?
