Love the high and back problems. Trying to get off them. CT was too hard. Have been taking tramadol for 2 days to ween off. Have 4 left. Is this a good idea. I do not like the "high" but it helps w/the WD's. Any thoughts?
A lot of doctors don't tell patients it is addicting, because they don't understand the drug. Like any other narcotic, and it is like a narcotic, if you take it for a long period of time your body will become dependent on it. If you take more than 200mg (8 pills) a day you are at risk for seizures especially if you take them all at once. Some people can take it w/o seizures but not others and you never know when it will happen. How much do you take and how often?
500mg is quite high if it is making you sick at your stomach try lowering your dose some. If your taking the 50 mg then try taking them at separate times, take one and then one more an hour later if needed.
Tram, Its avis hun I don't think you can do this on your own .You are on far to much you are going to have to be watched medically because its such a high amount and the sooner the better ...What side effects are u having now ? This is my experiance with tramadol I have been taking tramadol for 4 years now. I tried to get off and i was in such pain, diarrhea, Insomnia, sever mental confusion, muscle aches, sweats, Limbs feel like they are on fire, flu symptems 10 times worse than any flu I have ever had! After 10 days I had to go back on Vicoden because that seems much less an evil than tramadol.
It took me about three days to get off them. I take them once in a while because I do have a medical problem, and I'm in pain alot. My dr. gave me tramadol. They do absolutely nothing for me yet I read about people being addicted to them. They're not a narcotic, are they?
Even tho ur body is telling u to lay down u have to force yourself to get up and try to get moving. Also another big actually HUGE help for me was MUSIC! ive kept my headphones in constantly whenever possible and its really kept me motivated. Music really is so good for the soul. Hang in there and please keep me posted on how ur doing. Feel free to message me anytime if u have any questions.
When I get them I want to get on a taper plan and I am going to give them to my husband so he can be the one to give them to me. I dont want to be on this drug anymore. It is ruining and controlling my life.
She thinks not, as she says, she doesn't get high from it, doesn't abuse it (which she doesn't)so there for she is not addicted. I don't know, I think that if she is taking it everyday even if it is for real pain, that she is physically addicted to it. I also think that the doc's just don't know how addictive this medication really is. What do you all think?
It is recommended that patients who would like to discontinue their tramadol, to do so gradually over a period of time that will vary according to the individual patient and dose and length of time on the drug. Talk to your doctor! They can help you do it properly.
trust me I went threw hell to get off them it was much worse then hydro withdrawl ...... I am glad to hear you wont be taking them.
I feel really tired and I want more energy, so i want to stop taking the tramadol. In can't get through the withdraw pain or the chaos of being off it or sometimes the pain, so I feel stuck. I feel sad I miss appointments sometimes and I get tired and overwhelmed. I can't keep up with a busy schedule without getting tired. This is no way to live. I am taking such a minimum dose but I'm getting such negative affects mostly I'm always tired. Please help!!!
I had some side effects last year from tramadol like my head twitching so they switched me to vicodin after I persisted. It's actually hard to get any narcotics even if you are dying of pain.. which I do have with herniated/degenerative discs. It kinda ***** cuz i need something for pain.. then end up addicted to the suckers. someone told me though if you are on painkillers for a long time and then go off them any pain you may have is not as bad? Interesting. Anyway..
I didnt think i was taking enough (max 400mg a day) to have the seizer side effect which is why i went cold turkey, but im now a bit concerened with the co codamol 30/500 as ive been on these 2 years and am on over 100 a month i didnt think these were addictive and my doctor seems to think taking those is fine, im so confused.i need to take something for my migranes and back problem i thought thses were all that were left well thats how the doctor put it.
I have not done any work for him yet still don't know what to do. He says it will go a long way to helping me in court. The maximum I could get for what I did is 5 years in prison and a $5,000 fine. I have a 13 year old son and sure do not want to go to jail. Guess I should have thought of that before I did what i did. All i could think about was the pills not the consequences.
We are no longer together and I am not even sure that he is trying to get off of them. He is impossible to talk to he has become so paranoid. I am here mostly hoping that others who have been addicted can tell me if these side effects happened to them. He was such a loving man and then this happened and he is a stranger.
Well that was a year ago and I'm still taking the tramadol. It's easy to get. I get it online without a script. I've also started taking .5 XR xanax. I chew up 3 at night. I just started the xanax. I know it's not a lot but to me it is. I just want to stop living a like this. I feel alone. Everybody thinks I kicked the habit a year ago. Any advise will be greatly appreciated.
But I'm locked in at 7 per day, for a week anyways. Saturday, I go to 6 per day! Wow, I'm starting to get close to quitting. 7 won't be a problem for the rest of this week, I feel as if I'm already leveled. tramadol withdrawals are far from predictable, that's for sure. From 9 to 8, I had some mild withdrawals, but dropping from 8 to 7, I get No Withdrawals! Just wierd, but I'm not complaining, that's for sure. Thank You everyone here for all your support! I appreciate it very much.
My doctor has decided to change my meds for pain to tramadol. I have a history of drug abuse, and am concern as to whether this drug as any better then a narcotic or if is still a type of narcotic....Any info on a possible addiction to it would be apreciated. I do not want to have to go throw another bout of additction.
I didn't think I would use an Opiate to try to get off this tramadol, but it seems to be making it easier. I will start tapering tomorrow and keep tapering down over the next week to 10 days. Hopefully then when I stop the Vicodin, I'll keep up the Dramamine and GABA and the Withdraw won't be as hellish as it's been trying just to taper off the tramadol. My heart goes out to everyone here who is trying to get off these awful addictivie medications.
I was able to get down to 2 1/4 before I switched to the opiate. I was so afraid because I had taken tramadol for 3 years ... that I actually took too much vicodin the first time (got sick to my stomach and high) UHGG .. hate that feeling. Now I take 1/2 a pill twice a day. I had absolutely NO pain symptoms ... and I feel normal. I can cry ... I wasn't able to shed a tear for along time. I was so "robotic" ... I can also eat!! Oh boy ... do I love food.
Hello. I have this friend. He has tried to stop tramadol several times. The pain always gets the best of him and he gives in. Does anybody know anything about tramadol specific withdrawl??? Or should he treat the withdrawls just like all the other synthetic opiates???? Have you or anybody you know or even heard of succesfully stopped taking tramadol? Thank YOU!!!!
Mr Junig I currently quit cold turkey on tramadol and was taking a very high dose and am having really bad withdrawal. How long do you think i will feel this way or what can i do to get the opiates out of my body faster than just sitting it out?
Dear Doctor, I was perscribed tramadol for my back along with some hydrocodone for my back surgery coming up on May 6th. Then I started reading how awful it is to get off of tramadol. I never abused it, or got high off of it. Just want to stop before I get in too deep. My question is , will I have withdrawals from 3 months of this drug. I asked my Pharmacist and he said I probably wouldn't due to that it has been 32 hours since I touched a pill.
i remember my grandmother said that when a bird is trying to get into your house..god has sent him to take someone...it was my wake-up call and was in detox 2 day later..
I'm going to cut my pills in half and then cut that piece in half. Thats what I'm going to do when I get lower...I'm down to 4 a day right now. I'm not telling u to do that, just saying what I would do. tomorrow I'm dropping to 3 and a half but like I said I'm tapering faster than usual...u can def do this...
good luck to all of you trying to get off tramadol. I had tryed many ways and now i'm at the point of getting professional help. I tryed cold turkeybut after 60 hr with no sleep and know hope of it ending i hed to start back up i tried to taper off very slow but after i got down to 6/day i was a phyical wreck.I almost lost my business and could hardly get out of bed.
