2030686 tn?1351688548 I started double therapy yesterday and I just wanna make sure my sides are normal.. I had the chills from time to time, but I was hot more. What I'm concerned about is my legs and hips hurt so bad I could barely walk. I 'm on a high dose of vicodin and it didn't seem to touch this pain. I had a small amount of chest pain on the left side, but it was mild pain and didn't last long. I took a hot bath for my legs and it helped for a little while, but the pain came back.
Avatar f tn Your doctor can prescribe a medication that will help control the pain and is not harsh on the liver. Tramadol works well for many who suffer with moderate pain. It is non narcotic but may be habit forming. Take only as directed.

1508160 tn?1289920302 t know much about Rebif but I have been on Copaxone for over a year. The side effects are redness, itching, stinging, swelling at the injection site. There isn't any problems with the liver that I know of. There are some reactions for some that include tightness of the chest, flushing. I chose Copaxone over the other DMD's due to the lack of side effects such as flu symptoms, liver function.. Good Luck in your decision!
Avatar m tn There are preferred opiates drugs that are use in patients with liver disease that have shorter half-lives and have less harmful side effects on the renal system. Your liver doctor should be aware of these drugs and be able to determine if you may be able to use them. Avatar f tn I am so sorry to see your girl has liver cancer, your vet has made a wise choice to NOT do surgery in this case. Our Rottie Zena had cancer in her left rear leg she also had arthritis, you might ask your vet what he/she thinks of using Tramadol to see if this would give her some relief. This is pain medication,Zena was using Chondroitin 1,200 mg. and Glucosamine 1,500 mg.- 2 tabs a day (crushed in her food) for the arthritis.

Avatar n tn (excluding constipation and a few mild side effects) Acetaminophen can destroy the liver with long term use and/or taking more than 2000mg a day. NSAID's (Ibuprofen, Voltaren, Toradol etc.) with long term use can cause serious liver problems and they are hard on the stomach. Many physicians are hesitant on prescribing opiates because of the pressure from the DEA. A physician who refuses to prescribe opiates, is not doing his job. He/she is not treating the entire body.
Avatar f tn If there is a lawyer in the area whose done a lawsuit like this, they can steer you in the direction of a knowledgeable doctor with the tramadol and side effects. Also, at least here, these types of case are done on a contingent basis, so that means that you don't pay unless you win and the attorney fees will come out of your award. Good luck to you!
Avatar f tn Tramadol is NOT safe. It is addicting and it is horrid to withdraw from. It changes more brain chemicals than straight narcotics. It does not have to make you high like hydrocodone to mess you up....just try to quit and you will see....you are addicted and physically dependent. Tapering is the easiest way to quit with the least suffering if you can taper....

Avatar f tn So I was on gabapentin for 2 and a half years. I have fibromyalgia and chronic pain from scoliosis. I'm already prescribed tramadol. When they put me on it, it helped me a lot. But I started getting a rash. But I had no clue it was from my drug. Looking back it's the ONLY thing it could be from. I've got spots all over the back of my arms and legs. Some are scars from the ones that where healing. But they wouldn't close!
Avatar f tn When I started treatment they warned me of the side effects, flu like symptoms, depression, headaches and all that good stuff, but the treatment wasn't too bad, they started me on an anti-depressant and medication for my headaches. But for the last yr or more I have been having the flu like symptoms, major body aches mostly in my upper torso, back problems and I have had every test imaginable done to figure out why I am in so much pain everyday. Some days are better than others.
