Avatar f tn When I started treatment they warned me of the side effects, flu like symptoms, depression, headaches and all that good stuff, but the treatment wasn't too bad, they started me on an anti-depressant and medication for my headaches. But for the last yr or more I have been having the flu like symptoms, major body aches mostly in my upper torso, back problems and I have had every test imaginable done to figure out why I am in so much pain everyday. Some days are better than others.

Avatar f tn s always best to double check with your pharmacist (or doctor, although pharmacists tend to be more knowledgeable about this stuff) when it comes to any possible cross-reaction or side effects. Realistically, if the pharmacy you use is aware of your aspirin (and any other) allergies, it should automatically pop up on their computer if there could be a problem, but of course, we all know that things are not 100% positive and what SHOULD happen doesn't always happen.

Avatar n tn My own experience was that my entire body would itch during the entire eight hours that the drug was supposed to be active for pain. There were other nasty side effects, too, like bad nausea and extreme sedation. Some say the nausea and sedation calm down after a while with the use of the medication, but I found that to be the opposite in my case. I'm sure there must be traces in the body for a while after the eight hours, but I'm not sure for how long.

Avatar f tn Tramadol has a long list of adverse side-effects. It is also an addictive medication that acts very much like an opiate. Please talk to your prescribing physician and make sure that it is the right medication for you. Please read my blog about Tramadol by clicking on my name in blue and then "Blogs". It is especially interesting to read the numerous comments it got. Ask your doctor about other, non-opioid ways of dealing with your pain and get another opinion. My best wishes.
Avatar f tn Tramadol should never be given to another person, especially someone who has a history of drug abuse or addiction. Keep the medication in a secure place where others cannot get to it. Tramadol can cause side effects that may impair your thinking or reactions. Be careful if you drive or do anything that requires you to be awake and alert.
