Business man2 Nausea, vomiting, stomach upset, confusion, hallucinations, headaches, drowsiness, urinary retention, constipation, blurred vision, insomnia, rapid heart beats, trouble breathing and respiratory depression. Tramadol can cause physical and psychological dependence. The human body develops tolerance to the analgesic effects of Tramadol. That means, on regular use of Tramadol, your body gets used to it and you will need more of the drug to induce the same level of pain relief.

Avatar n tn Doing so can cause major withdrawals and horrible side effects. I have a link that tells you all about seroquel. I do not reccomend you read it, as it will only scare you off it. I did not even look closely at the page. But I will leave it up to you. Blessings - Blu http://www.rxlist.com/seroquel-side-effects-drug-center.
Avatar f tn I suffer from Major Clinical Depression, Anxiety, Panic Disorder and Chronic Pain. I was initially prescribed SSRI based Anti-Depressants for my Depression and Tramadol 200SR for my pain. The SSRI medication "Ecitalopram" i was told would take 5 weeks to kick in. In that time i developed serious side effects and instead of taking me off this medication my doctor threw more pills at me.
Avatar f tn When I started treatment they warned me of the side effects, flu like symptoms, depression, headaches and all that good stuff, but the treatment wasn't too bad, they started me on an anti-depressant and medication for my headaches. But for the last yr or more I have been having the flu like symptoms, major body aches mostly in my upper torso, back problems and I have had every test imaginable done to figure out why I am in so much pain everyday. Some days are better than others.
Avatar m tn Tramadol could raise your heart rate, and Synthroid does elevate the metabolism, However Thyroid Disease is a Cause of elevated BP and Cholesterol levels, Si I doubt that the medications are responsible for your increased BP, I would advise sharing your concerns with your MD though.
Avatar m tn I was just wondering if there was anyone else out there who has had the same results with Tramadol or has been prescribed Tramadol for depression?
Avatar f tn t work. Now she prescribe tramadol. I have read bad things about it and its side effects. Everything is dated from a few years ago, so I would like update from anyone that is taking it. I was prescribed 50mg/4 times a day as needed. I have read that it causes drowiness but people state that it actually gives them energy (I have insomnia- also on my 3th medication because Ambien, Lunesta didn't work. Now on Tranzodone). Avatar f tn Over the past few months I have mentioned that I think the Tramadol is causing a whole load of side effects but he said NO not to his knowledge does it cause joint and muscle pain and eye problems and I somehow have a feeling that he will tell me to just stop taking them if I feel that way....look I could be wrong and he may well help me come off them. My question to you is PLEASE tell me how your doctor has helped you withdraw from Tramadol?
909257 tn?1242668182 Pain medications have numerous side effects and those who do take pain meds on a regular basis do usually have some kind of depression due to the fact that they do have chronic pain but as far as the meds causing depression or bipolar no I do not believe so.
Avatar m tn side effects of tramadol ? I do experience: lots sweatings, I"m very angry, nervous, unhappy,..etc always like this unless I take at least 1/day, then I'm normal in a good or "ok" mood!!
Avatar n tn Tramadol is generally well tolerated, and side effects are usually transient. Commonly reported side effects include nausea, constipation, dizziness, headache, drowsiness, and vomiting. Less commonly reported side effects include itching, sweating, dry mouth, diarrhea, rash, visual disturbances, and vertigo. Some patients who received tramadol have reported seizures.
Avatar n tn m really stressed about this and many doctors do not believe that sexaul side effects can remain after stopping the medication. I know there are thousands of people who take antidepressants, but many people take Propecia and some people claim to have sexual side effects after they stop. There a scientific journals that have recorded patients with various persistant sexual side effects that do not go away after they quit as well. Are doctors not aware of these rare occurances???
539209 tn?1225972263 Lyrica is wonderful once you get passed the side effects,,usually takes a week,,,,,Also lyrica is a schedule 5 drug,,with Morphine componants
1162610 tn?1262829016 I'm on week 5 off Hydrocodone, first of all! Yaaaay! Still craving the stuff though, but less and less it seems. Since I still have pain, now and then, I have been prescribed Tramadol, rather than the narcotics. What are the narcotic effects, if any, of Tramadol? I've only taken 1 or 2 a day, but with a hysterectomy coming soon I'm concerned for my needs for pain meds again. If I have to take more Tramadol, how will that effect me? Thanks for your help.
1602919 tn?1297874013 I ask because I had side effects with Tramadol - tingling fingers, rapid heartbeat and my head felt weird. I have a large herniated disk revealed through an MRI. I was given Trmadol took it one evening and that was it. Now I take Norco because it has less acetaminophen. I'm hoping the hernia will reabsorb. But seriously, in my case the Tramadol & I didn't get along.
757597 tn?1315801812 If you have been taking them and you are not having any noticable side-effects, then you may be one of those who can do so. One has to weigh the side-effects to the quality of life when taking medications. I took Tramadol for 3 yrs. I could not take it with Effexor due to potential seizure activity. I had previously taken it with Cymbalta, but discontinued the Cymbalta after a few days.
Avatar f tn in my lower spine and have been on tramadol for 2 years, then Targin (6 weeks), then oxicodone (2 weeks) and now back on tramadol since I had severe side effects with targin and oxicodone (panic attacs, depression, nausea and difficulty breathing) and have now decided to wean off the tramadol mainly because the difficulty in breathing and the associated panic attacks have stayed with me.
Avatar m tn Thank God for this opportunity to ask someone knowledgable about this. - my problem I was diagnosed with depression and panic attacks in 2000- started on paxil with good effect. Stopped 2 times but had to go back on paxil months later due to panic attacks returning along with depression. In 2005 I shifted to Efexor XR, 150 mg and realized I would be on these the rest of my life. This is ok because they work perfectly for me and have done so for the last 8 years.
2030686 tn?1351688548 Chills, body aches, fever or flu like symptoms are all normal side effects of interferon. High doses of vicodin means you're getting a high dose of acetaminophen which can be very liver unfriendly. Those with hepc should not exceed 2000 mg of acetaminophen daily. If you must use pain management drugs for an existing condition perhaps you should talk to your doctor about prescribing something without acetaminophen such as a low dose oxycodone or Tramadol.
Avatar n tn Keep the medication in a secure place where others cannot get to it. Tramadol can cause side effects that may impair your thinking or reactions. Be careful if you drive or do anything that requires you to be awake and alert. Do not stop using tramadol suddenly, or you could have unpleasant withdrawal symptoms such as anxiety, sweating, nausea, diarrhea, tremors, chills, hallucinations, trouble sleeping, or breathing problems.
544292 tn?1268882668 Not my fault that I had to snicker at the last line there because every time I talked to my Doctors (plural) about medications and side effects they told me that Tramadol was NOT the problem. Then there was usually another drug put on top of that Tramadol. And they told me to take more. I always thought it was the other drug, not the Tramadol. Yeah. I was wrong. It makes me very angry that these Doctors know and aren't telling people. I don't believe that they are ignorant.
Avatar m tn t get off the Tramadol without SOMETHING; the side effects of withdrawal are too much for me. Call me a wuss if you want, I've been to hell and back several times now with serious injuries and illnesses, and none of it even compares with the cold shakes and nausea of trying to stop Tramadol, not to mention the sleeplessness, restless limbs - which is the most unbearable thing of all - and depression.
Avatar f tn I would only imagine that the physician, who has been prescribing you the tramadol so freely, should be willing to help you out with the side effects of the withdrawals that you are now experiencing. The withdrawal from it is essentially the same as the one for the opioids and usually takes several weeks of the really nasty symptoms followed by several more of just insomnia and general weakness and depression.
