Avatar m tn Hi Over60, Congratulations on twenty nine years of sobriety. You're correct that withdrawing from tramadol will increase the RLS symptoms. And though avisg is also correct that tramadol is not normally prescribed for RLS we are all different. What works for one does not necessarily work for another and visa versa. Who knows why it successfully controlled your RLS symptoms. That is not important. Your concern is justified. What now?
Avatar f tn I'm Kelvin, I've been abusing tramadol for 4 years now and I've tried to stay clean but the withdrawal symptoms keeps chasing me right back to it. I experience depression anxiety, sweating, sneezing, runny nose and tiredness. I really need help, support and assistance to deal with this.
Avatar m tn I have been Taking Ultram for two an a half years now for a severe case of Restless Leg Syndrom. I am currently up to six 50mg tabs a day. I also must mention I am a recovering alcolholic and haven't had a drink or recreational drug in over 28 years. I have tried reducing the dose in hopes of weaning myself of the drug but m RLS symtoms become unbearable. I have tried all the other RLS drugs over the years (Requip, Mirapex, Sinamet etc.) and Ultram has been the most affective.
Avatar f tn I am still so shocked that you went onto methadone from taking tramadol. Myself and others I know, when speaking of tramadol, usaully a nasty face appears and people laugh.
1178983 tn?1279663655 I have been taking tramadol as prescribed since september of 09 but am tapering. Can I take tylenol pm at night to sleep? Will it hurt me to drink a glass of wine? I have hypertension as well that my doctor is not controlling. I am so scared.

In most cases, tramadol withdrawal will set in 12–20 hours after the last dose, but this can vary.
Avatar f tn I have been addicted to methodone for 2 years i didnt take it for pain i took it for recreational use. Last January i was admitted to the hospital because i told my mother about my addiction and she said it was best to go to the hospital to detox . They gave me meds to get threw the bad withdrawls like the pain, hot and cold sweats, insomnia etc. After being in the hospital for 5 days i was clean for about 1 week and then got back on them.
Avatar f tn In most cases, tramadol withdrawal will set in 12–20 hours after the last dose, but this can vary. Tramadol withdrawal lasts longer than that of other opioids; seven days or more of acute withdrawal symptoms can occur as opposed to typically three or four days for other codeine analogues. --Rarely, dependence may occur after as little as three months of use at the maximum dose—generally depicted at 400 mg per day.
Avatar m tn s fantastic that you are getting off the Tramadol. My brother committed suicide, and yes, it was due to Tramadol. PLEASE just hang in there, and don't go back....you can do it!!!! Be strong, and be safe! This drug is not worth taking, and will ruin your life if you continue to take it. The dosage you were initially taking was wayyyy to high! My brother was at about 30 pills a day...so dangerous! Good luck....you can do it!
Avatar f tn he then gave me TRAMADOL 50mg and said to alternate 4 Norco 3 TRAMADOL ..this is my of 2nd week of alternating 3 TRAMADOL, 3 NORCO every 4 hours....but am confused on how to taper off both drugs......I want to be off pain meds.....any suggestions? Avatar f tn When I was on Suboxone, my doctor treated Tramadol just like an opiate. If a patient had taken Tramadol, he had them wait.
Avatar m tn So Ive been prescribed tramadol 100mgs twice a day along with taking 500mgs of naproxen. Now Ive taken tramadol in the past for pain and recreational purposes and never had a problem when I stopped but I never took them for too long of a period. My question is being that I have an addictive personality, especially to opiates(norco, oxycontin), how long is it relatively safe for me to take tramadol without becoming addicted or dependent upon them.
Avatar m tn 30 AM) I usually take my first dose of 4 at 6AM. And my second dose at 8AM. So when I woke up at 8:30AM, I just took 7, my 1st and 2nd dose at the same time. I think that was a mistake, after about 45 minutes to an hour later I threw up. So I probably threw up some of my 1st and 2nd dose. I took my 3rd dose of 3 about half an hour ago. Other than that I guess I'm doing ok. Should I do anything about throwing up some of my 1st and 2nd dose? What would you guys do?
Avatar m tn I was only on Zoloft for a month. I stopped cold turkey because I didn't like how they suppressed my real emotions. It wasn't a problem stopping cold turkey for me. I'm only temporarily using Tramadol to help with my Vicodin withdrawal because I stopped it cold turkey and I'm having very uncomfortable chills as a result and the tramadol is helping a lot. I'm only going to be using Tramadol for a few more days until my body recovers from not having any Vicodin.
Avatar m tn i used it for recreational purposes before but now its a need n i really need help.. i tried to quit several times this month but the pain is unbearable. please suggest an alternative med or a method that is not addictive as SP and will bring down my body pain.
Avatar f tn Hi everyone, I am new and just had a couple of concerns/questions....I take vicodin when I can to feel "fluffy" and then my girlfriend gave me Tramadol because she didn't have any vicodin and I took two of those sometimes 3 (50mg)....It isn't the same feeling as vicodin.....I'm just wondering what it is doing....why it isn't the same? Are 3 a day safe? I am not taking any drug everyday.
Avatar m tn Thanks for your response. As I taper off tramadol, will the pain get worse? The burning nerve pain is actually benzo withdrawal symptom. Doctors did not know this when they prescribed tramadol. It helped at first, but then it didn't. Was scared to stop it because of horror stories online about coming off of it. Appreciate you!
Avatar f tn Chances are less likely for serotonin syndrome if you take your Cymbalta in the morning and tramadol at night. But I still find the 100mg tramadol dose considerably high.
Avatar m tn But you can avoid most of those symptoms by lowering the dose over time-- say by taking half of your dose for a few days, then half again of that dose for a few days, and so on. The problem is that SOME people cannot taper off medications that have addictive properties. I myself am one of 'those' people; I know from experience that if I take something that has an addictive quality to it, I will have a lot of trouble stopping it. So I have to avoid taking those types of substances.
Avatar m tn I repeat that I have absolutely no intention of taking tramadol tablets for recreational purposes or any other time other than to relieve my back pain when indulging in my favourite hobby!
Avatar m tn anyways now i just passed 48 hrs from my last heroin dose, @ the first 24 hrs i took about 225 mgs of Tramadol, yesterday was a ****** awful day, i was experiencing the worst withdrawals ever ( my heroin dose reached 5 gms a day !!! ) so i took about 375 mgs of Trama !! for the past 12 hours i didnt take any Tramadol but am feeling like ****, i think i will take another 125 mgs for now !
479459 tn?1246742019 that hbappens when ppl on anti-depresants dont take there dose the day before, no one knows the exact cause, but tramadol is a synthetic quasi-opioid and also a rapidly acting anti-dpressant that has to do with serontin lefvels and norepenephrine, so thats probably the cause of it, my girlfirend was on an anti dpressant called lexaproa nd when she missed a dose her brain would shake and tug it was horrendous to see i felt terrible but there very little you can do with that situation but with you
Avatar f tn Doctors often use tramadol to treat mild to moderate pain. In addition to pain, tramadol has a certain effect on depression.
