Avatar f tn Nope, it is tramadol. When he would go to the emergency room with a migraine that had lasted several days, they would put toradol in his IV to stop the migraine. But at home, they gave us tramadol, which helped stop bad headaches from becoming migraines.
Avatar f tn But now I am so happy, so human, my brain is functioning. But I have a problem. I suffer from migraine headaches and even one day of tramadol seems to throw me into FULL BLOWN WITHDRAWAL. Is this normal? I don't understand. Also, I'm all but certain that the limited use of tramadol is affecting my depression. I took 80mg of tramadol just 3 hours ago for a migraine and it knocked it over. But now I am scared about tomorrow and the next day.
Avatar m tn I have been on Tramadol for 3 years with lortab for break through pain. Tramadol has worked wonders for me. I have most of my active life back. Don't know about withdrawal as I have had no reason to come off of the Tramadol.
Avatar f tn Hope this is the right forum for migraines. I am a migraine sufferer, unfortunately I'm also allergic to NSAIDS. My only pain relief option is Tramadol however that is too strong for me. When I take it at night, and wake up next morning, once right out of bed the side effects of nausea and vomiting will hit me. I take it with stemetil thou. However sometimes I still feel the side effects. I'm under lots of stress, school and life related.
Avatar m tn Where does it hurt? Try the excedrin migraine first I've tried Tramadol for headaches and they don't help me but we're all different. Can it be allergies? Yesterday I had a BAD headache all day mostly at the temples and I took 2 excedrin migraine with an alleve sinus pill and it took it away. It's tough, I know your pain all too well. Is it a headache or a migraine?
Avatar n tn For several years now (increasing in severity), I have had a regularly recurring problem with both severe tension headaches as well as migraine headaches (mainly menstrual related ones). Aside from that, it is common for me to have abnormally heavy, painful periods (as in, cramping until I cry). The problem with getting pain medication though, is that I have quite a history of gastrointestinal issues including stomach ulcers, acid reflux, and IBS.
Avatar f tn t stop that but I could stop the brufen and paracetamol that the doc has prescribed for this migraine attack. I wonder whether the tramadol itself may be causing the problem but if I don't help the existing problems I am then left with intolerable pain 3 fold and to be honest it's jump off cliff painful so not an option! I am not going doolally although that last comment was extreme, it's just the longing to be well is so strong and this is yet another set back for me.
Avatar n tn There is a strong possibility that the MRI findings of white mater changes are due to migraine. Since you do not have other symptom s of MS I think the possibility is very less. You are suffering from migraines which occur due to hormonal changes like a drop in estrogen levels. Are you taking any treatment for migraines? I would suggest you to avoid caffeine and processed meats and red wine and see if it helps.
621290 tn?1226720261 I get some real nasty headaches when I withdrawal from Tramadol. That's one of the worst parts for me. I don't know if you took any Tramadol, but if you did, that could very well be part of it. I just really hope you come down to 2-4 mg of sub per day. I worry a little about you. You can do it, stay strong.
Avatar f tn I didNT know I was pregnant and was on heavy doses of tramadol for migraine. Foundout at 4 Weeks and weened off last week. Has anyone had a similar experience and what was the outcome? So worried please help.
768044 tn?1294223436 Tramadol didn't work completely for me. It took us about 4 months to come up with Zomig and to take 1-2 at onset (early) and then another in 4 hours if this doesn't help. Because I have rebound headaches I have to be careful. But I have found catching it early I don't need as much medication.
Avatar f tn the tramadol needs to be tapered slowly..u can quit the lortab ct...most would stop the lortab then the trams...do u have a dr who can help u with this..lots of support here..

Avatar m tn As some of you know I'm an addicted to Xanax and I'm working in my tapering off of this benzo, but I had also taked as prescribed, Vicodin 5/500mg and Tramadol 50mg for over a year. I don't think that I am addicted to these opiates psychologically, never took more than prescribed the Tramadol( twice daily) and the Vicodin when I had migraine-which happened to be 3 or 4 times a week, yes.
Avatar f tn So I went to the e.r. last night with a migraine and they administered morphine. And gave me a prescription for tremidol. Im a little spectical about it. Has any one else been prescribed this.
Avatar m tn Yesterday i was prescribed tramadol by a different doctor for my pain and migraine. What i need to know is if it is OK to take tramadol while i am on suboxone? i am afraid that if i take tramadol tonight, the next morning when i dose my suboxone i will feel a very discomfort feeling or withdrawal. I have been searching for answers everywhere but i was never have an accurate answer. i never wanna ask my subs doctor because it's worthless and no nothing except writing subs script.
15290316 tn?1447023108 I'm not on any antidepressants. I knew that Tramadol has an SSRI in it, but I really don't know what SSRI means. I definitely know what withdrawal feels like for me, and I know that the headaches aren't similar to any WD symptom I've ever had. Also, I only took the Tramadol for five days, so I know it's not WD from the Tram. The headache seemed to get more intense after I took a tramadol.
Avatar m tn Since I started to wean off my Xanax addiction I quit taking the Vicodin and Tramadol, except for 1 day had bad migraine and none Imitrex pills, my insurance only covers 9 pills and paying them is more than 200 dollars. The point is that I do not feel side effects or W/D effects from quitting the Vicodin and Tramadol. It this possible? I didn't even knew Tramadol was an opiate until I joined this community.
Avatar m tn I have a thread called Quitting Tramadol Support Group 2. I am also on Tramadol right now and am taking 10 per day, but I am tapering down and quitting. Vicodin withdrawals are a lot more tolerable than Tramadol withdrawls. You are mainly just having withdrawal symtoms from the Tramadol now. After 7 days of no hydrocodone, you would not have that bad of symptoms really at all from those anymore. Good luck.
Avatar f tn I am just waking up from a migraine ( I took Tramadol) the headache is not gone all the way, As for the smell it's still here more sweet than smoke tho. Not sure what it means.
Avatar f tn My doctors initially thought I had migraine (even though I have had migraines for 15 years and told them it was nothing like a migraine) but changed their mind when migraine medication failed to work.
Avatar n tn I have had what they say is a Migraine for 87 days straight now. It’s not like everyone else’s migraines though as I do not have light sensitivity, sound sensitivity or nausea. Doctors have tried doing the cocktail through IV x 3 and never worked, tried zomig, tramadol, Botox injections, steroids, propranolol and the list goes on. I avoid pills as much as possible as I’m aware this could cause a rebound headache. When it comes on its fast and hard! No easing into it.
Avatar f tn He is also asthmatic, has the minor diabetes, hip problem, arthritis, chronic pulmonary disorder and heart problems which he takes meds for all issues. He has been since prescribed Tramadol which has not helped so will be thinking of seeking advice from another doctor and seeking to book him in to get a MRI scan. Any advice is much appreciated, Thankyou.
Avatar m tn Blurry vision is not always present with a migraine headache. Migraine headaches can also vary in symptoms and intensity. Some people may experience tingling in their lips. I have every had 2 very severe migraine attacks in my life and I was extremely ill both times, but with one I saw like a white zig zag line when my eyes were open or shut. The foods and drinks that can trigger migraines are: chocolate, coffee, cheese, oranges, red wine.
Avatar m tn more of discomfort variety. Then they got more severe. I began to get migraine like headaches (2-3 a day)...some so severe it would bring me to my knees. I would have to lie down in total silence. (sensitive to light and sound). Usually, they would last about an hour or two--in which I couldn't do anything. No specific trigger...they might happen as I was sitting calmly reading...you never know. Also, I got other TBI symptoms...dizziness, I was irritable...even at minor things.
Avatar n tn s combine dosage of tramadol with tylenol or just this pill alone tramadol 5omg. tab once a day for 8mos now. response to geminigirl1963 question.
Avatar f tn And aspirin in pregnancy is a big no, it puts mom at a huge risk for bleeding. As far as tramadol being a narcotic I believe its a synthetic form of codine. Either way for the safety of the baby and her she needs to inform her dr.
