Ive taken tramadol for extended periods of time and havent had any problems when I quit, but Ive heard of many people who have had very serious symptoms, so I suppose it depends on the person and how much and how long they've been using tramadol. When I was taking tramadol I was getting it from mexico and was able to bring it back without a prescription because it was non-narcotic.
Halllo, I am addicted to tramadol. Please can you help me with tappering? I tried to go cold turkey, but I am not able to do it. Please help. S.
Tramadol has the same kind of dependency as morphine once you are hooked, and it sounds like you are, so you should see a drug rehab.specialist to walk you through the withdrawals. There are dangers to be avoided, so be under a doctors care for this....
Hi I've been suffering from severe eye pain and my pain control is not working well enough. I'm currently on Dihydrocodeine 30 mg 6 times daily. And I'm wondering if tramadol is stronger, the information I've found on this drug conflicts and I'm just wondering if you could tell me if tramadol would be stronger than the drug i'm currently using and wether it is adictive. And what type of drug is it, the only type of drug which helps my pain are narcotics nothing else does anything.
have been taking Tramadol for teeth pain for about 1 year now. It started when I had a cyst on my testicle and the doctor prescribed me Ultram. I loved them the minute I first took them. I really am addicted to them and am up to about 1000mg a day. (20 Pills). I'm taking them 5 at a time 4 times a day. I just went through 200 in a little less than 2 weeks. My problem is that I croiss the border into Mexico and I can buy them there at the pharmacies for $28.00 for a bottle of 100.
i have been clean from tramadol for 10 days now,but am having terrible 'irritable legs' at night when i try to sleep...it's driving me nuts,i have to keep getting up in the night and walking about' when i finally dose off it is not a restful sleep.my doc gave me 5 sleeping pills, which sort of worked, but they have been gone for over a week and i really don't want to get into pills again.
I have never been on this much Tramadol in a day but it's only been about 2 weeks that it's been this high. I think I need to shut it down now. I need to get a job cause all I do is sit here at home bored and look for work on the internet. I occasionally go and do some computer work with a few customers but nothing steady. I know there is no good way to come off of these and I absolutely hate the W/D from these.
I have been on this road before and know all too well the pain and suffering that tramadol and tramadol withdraw can cause. My battle with this evil drug started probably about 8 years ago. I broke my foot while vacationing in Mexico and the local pharmacy told me it was the closest pain med they had to Vicodin. I popped one pill and was hooked. I had no idea about the drug and what it was all about. It didn't really do much for my pain, but wow it made me feel energized and alive.
I am in the process of getting off of tramadol. It was prescribed for me for ocassional use for mild to moderate pain like headache, muscle soreness, etc. I used it only ocassionally for several months. About 4 months ago, I became involved in a fairly intense project and was experiencing more discomfort. Without really thinking much about it, I started using tramadol every day and then increased this to 2-3 times each day.
Now Im not an expert in tramadol w/d but I do know that for those who have had bad w/d's it can last anywhere from 1-6wks depending on different circumstances. I personally used to take tramadol when I lived in san diego, I used to go to mexico to get it, I thought since it wasnt a narcotic that I couldnt get addicted to it.
I have chronic pain in both legs and feet and lower back..all day every day. Over the past 3 years I have been to 9 different docs with each one giving me a different diagnosis. From nerves being the problem to "you will have to undergo disk replacement surgery", I have heard it all. I have been on a 75 mic Fentanyl patch every two days to upwards of 5 10/500 hydros each day. Currently I am down to 1 5/500 Lortab. Getting pain meds can be quite a task.
from tramadol, now down to 75 mg's/day, been there for +2 weeks and cant seem to taper further w/o the anxiety/panic attacks. Been taking all of that otc stuff along with klonopin and Ambient CR for sleep, still no help. 2 tabs per day and I'm A-ok, less than that, life is hell. Spoke to the doc and he said that if 2 tabs works for me, then why quit? He wants me to stay on 2 tabs/day, The devil reincarnate!
Past 3 years have worked my way up to appx 15-100mg of tram daily. Was purchasing them OTC in Mexico. Cheap and easy. Time to stop had enough. Half a@@ tapered over weekend. Last tram was yesterday morn. Need to know how soon I'm gonna die from the abuse and what I've done to my body. In process of quitting.
I recieved my tramadol on the 5th of this month..(i hget a 20day supply)..so today would be day 12....i have no insurance so i only pay the $4 at Target ....do you think it's possible that Target pharmacy would refill it today??? has anyone had anything like this happen? is there a law on how early a pharmacy can refill a script?
Hi I have been taking Tramadol for about 6 months now (prior to TKR) However foe the past month have been having problems with nausea and headaches. So my GP who has done bloods (awaiting results), it was suggested that it could be a reaction to the tramadol. Has anyone had experience of this?
stinkin' tramadol is what got me hooked 6 years ago!!! my bf and i used to drive down to mexico, buy a bunch of bottles, empty em' in plastic bags and duct tape them to our crotches. suffice it to say we were young, stupid and HOOKED. i had a terrible experience and terrible withdrawals with tramadol. i personally say, stay as far away from it as possible. good luck! i've been reading your posts btw...they are very inspiring.
I am currently trying to taper myself off Tramadol. I have been on it for 3 years now. Many doctors clain Tramadol is not addictive, WRONG! Personally, I have only ever been addicted to Tramadol so I am not sure what w/d symptoms are like for other drugs, but w/d from Tramadol is BAD! If I were you, I would not risk it by using Tramadol. Have you tried the Thomas Detox Receipe? I have heard great things about it. I am going to give it a try when I get my tapered dosage down a little more.
Hi. This is my first post. I have been a Tramadol user for 5 years until last July 02, 2009. I used it because of Chronic back pain caused by abusing my body in earlier yrs. Racing cars, mountain biking, skateboarding ect. A friend of mine (at least I thought he was a friend) who worked in a Dr's office told me about Tramadol after one of many Mtn Bike crashes. I chose to self medicate my self. With Mexico being 10 min. away I would always could supply my need.
Have thoughts of taking Tramadol to make me feel better but again, what will happen to me... will I escalate the dosage and back to square one? Have to wipe off that thoughts. Tramadol is bad, very bad.!! Been visiting the loo... got to drink lots of water or else I will be dehydrated. My taste buds are on holiday now... nothing taste nice. But at least the food stays where it is supposed to. Got to eat to keep me going! I must get well again and live without drugs!!!!
Arkansas, Tennessee, Illinois, New Mexico, Ohio, West Virginia, Kentucky, Wyoming, Mississippi, North Dakota, Oklahoma and the U.S. military, with other states considering similar actions. --The drug has a wide range of applications, including treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, restless legs syndrome, motor neurone disease and fibromyalgia.
Hello, I have a question but before I get all the standard replies on quitting tramadol such as don'tdoit, you run risk of seazures, it's the worst drug to quict cold turkey, you need to go into the emergency room after your last dose etc etc yes I have read all this. None of t helps me what it really does is make's you never want to quit. However I really do need help and advice on what I can do in my current situation.
I am wonderring if there is any drug to help one with the w/ds when coming off Tramadol. I only take 2 a day but have for 5 years. I am living in Mexico at the moment so I thought I might be able to buy something at the pharmacia down here. Any thoughts??
I am a recovering addict who was recently prescribed Tramadol for chronic pain. I have been clean for over a year and don't want to risk my sobriety. I was told Tramadol was not addictive but have read otherwise in this forum. So far, I have been able to take less than prescribed. Is it possible to take these as needed and not become addicted? Also, does this show up on a 5 panel drug screen? I just got custody of my kids back from the state and don't want to risk losing them again.
I couldn't even find a rehab here that actually treats people for Ultram (Tramadol) addiction. I cannot kick the habit. This drug makes me feel good, but then again, I always feel tired, nauseated and even had a grand mal SEIZURE last week from taking too many! Scared the crap out of me and I woke up in the hospital! I didn't even know what had happened to me! I just want to find an online support group, dealing with TRAMADOL. I would like to hear from other people in the same boat!
Gracias!
Day 34; Tramadol Cold Turkey Withdrawal Dear Friends; Well it's official I now have Bronchitis. I have to rest and prevent it from going into pneumonia. So no work this week. Which means no income. Which means money going out, no money coming in. A couple nights ago I stood and PRAYED ... "Just show me and send me what I need." So apparently HP needs me to rest, and not work and whatever the effects of that; I am still clean! I am still NOT on Tramadol! I said it before.
But that's ok, it's better than being on the soul sucking demon pill Tramadol. I accuse the Tramadol withdrawal of crashing my immune system and leading me to bronchitis on Day 31? Yes. It stands accused. Ok so I lived thru it but had to use the inhaler twice to breathe and had to use klonopin in the day! ACK! It's anxiety. It's from not being able to breathe. Luckily I came home and went to sleep for awhile. That helped. My stomach is a tiny bit sore, so I am using a heating pad. Lovely.
Maybe (hopefully) it is the Tramadol leaving my system. One thing I do love is the lack of suicidal thoughts. Never give antidepressants to a patient (like me) who has nothing but anxiety. I knew that. I know that. What I didn't know was that Tramadol had an antidepressant in it. I also didn't know it was a faux-opiate. I know now and I read things like; "It was easier for me to detox off of cocaine and booze" than it was off of Tramadol.
I also agree that alot of protein is good. Time heals this. It's just that, for me, Tramadol withdrawal made every minute seem incredibly long. !! days seemed like 11 years. It was due to the constant attack on my mind and on my body. That goes away. It takes time. As long as you don't take Tramadol again, it goes away. I never wanna live thru Days 1-4 ever again. My life is insanely busy. I could work all the time. I don't. But I could.
I've called every treatment center in my area that treats opiod dependence with suboxone. When I say I need treatment for tramadol dependecy they tell me tramadol is not an opiate and they don't treat for it. I reallu need to find some help. I've been tapering off but I know I'm gonna need some extra help. Does anyone know if there is another route I can go to get suboxone?
