I am normally mobile and energetic on tramadol and can leave the house, but on Bentyl I am sick in bed. Some relief from Bentyl, but not like tramadol. When I don't take tramadol, my only withdrawal is that I get extremely fatigue but that can also be from my IBS and pain. I have read before that if you stop taking tramadol for a few days, then you will lose your tolerance for the drug and can start up again with good results. Does anyboy know anything about this?
Tears......As I searched for tramadol addiction was my 1st attemp at admitting I have a problem, I cry just hearing it. I'm only 25yrs old. About 2yrs ago I was diagnosed with a permanent back condition. I was told to take 2 50mgs 4x's a day, but some how 8 pills turned to 16. The pills were a lifesaver at first until one night I hung out and clubbed with my friends and left my meds bk home overnight. And the WD kicked in immediately! I thought I was having a heart attack!
for THE W/D'S I'VE BEEN TAKING AMBIEN CR, CLONOPIN, MELATONIN AND BENEDRYL OTC NOTHING SEEEMS TO WORK EVEN THOUGH I HAVE BEEN TRIPLING THE maxIMUM ALLOWED DOSAGE. I AM PACING THE HALLWAYS IN A HALF STUPOR BUT YET STIILL FULL of MIND-BLOWING ANXIETY. AMBIEIN AND KLONOPIN SEEM TO BE LITTLE BUT STILL MOSTLY WORTHLESS THOUGH I DO GET SOME SHORT-TERM RELIEF FROM FROM THE BENEDRY.
This is when the written instructions come into play to let the patient know what is the safe maximum dosage that can be taken. In the case of tramadol, it is 8 pills per day. So if the patient had 9 pills that could be taken and still balance out at the end of the month, only 8 could be taken safely.
Hey Drangonboy I am struggling with tramadol myself, I was given it whilst in hospital with severe Endomitriosis just over a month ago, I was taking 400mg per day which I believe is the maximum dosage. I was discharged with 100 50mg tablets, so stayed on the maximum dose as no one told me otherwise. When I was close to running out got a repeat prescription from my doctor who mumbled something about coming off them under medical supervision then he went on holiday for three weeks.
on account of your weekend away, (I used to say things like I was going away with work or on a little holiday to get my meds early!) The main thing is you have tapered down to below the maximum daily dosage (I'm assuming they are 50mgs not the 200mg Zamadols) and that is a little triumph in itself. You must be a strong gritty type of person with you working on Wall Street so emphasise these traits on winning this battle.
tramadol is a drug of abuse and you should be aware if any person in the household is using this medicine improperly or without a prescription Seizure Risk Seizures have been reported in patients receiving tramadol within the recommended dosage range. Spontaneous post-marketing reports indicate that seizure risk is increased with doses of tramadol above the recommended range.
I switched on my own from vicodent to tramadol. Which drug is safer to use? Have heard I should have stayed on vicodent, but I thought I was doing a good thing my going back to tramadol. I have been on pain management for a year now, I see my doctor in another 2 weeks. Which drug is safer to stay on?
I've been using tramadol now for a couple years, and my regular dosage is around 500mg - 800mg daily. That's 10 - 16 pills daily, vastly exceeding the maximum recommended dosage. I am currently detoxing CT (thanks to all those in the other threads with information and recommendations on how to undergo this process), and my last dose was about two and a half days ago.
I am a mid-aged male whom has been taking tramadol Hydrochloride for about 2 years. I began taking it to control the paid from back spasms that would occur at least once a week. It was great, providing be the ability to forget about the pain, and be able to work/sleep/live. As time went on, I needed to increase the dosage to manage the pain.
p.s. with oversleeping i meant: i woke up at 7:15 and had to be at work at 7:45 (not 8:45) glad to hear that the visit to your parents home hasnt been as negative as you thought. you are on day 4 today this means you are now more than half way through the withdrawals!!! You go girl!! I had my car tested today and it didnt pass for the road worthiness cert, felt ok the first half of the day but then i started to feel tensed and anxious.
I'm just trying to bring together some people interested in quitting tramadol. I have made up my mind 100% and am going to quit. So I'm tapering down 1 pill per week or two. I was at 15 per day a couple months ago. Now I'm at 11 per day. I had an excellent support group when I had to quit taking Methadone back in 2004 Aug. and it helped me a lot. So if anyone would like to join me, come on in.
Today is my 13th day cold turkey detox from a 7 year heavy addiction to tramadol And Codeine Phosphate. My typical day was 40-50 x 50mg tramadol, (10x50mg every 90 minutes) then I would "finish" the day with 12-24 x 30mg Codeine Phosphate, 2 "sittings" of 12x30mg, I was prescribed these by my GP after a martial art injury for years, no questions asked, no alternatives sourced, In no time I was hooked to these meds and a typical 2 week prescription was only lasting me 2 days!
Hi Curious, I tend to give ppl the benefit of the doubt for a number of reasons. The maximum dosage of tramadol is 400mg daily which would mean 80 tablets in 10 days. I am surprised by the short time for a refill and would be even more surprised if a pharmacy would refill it in ten days. Could you have made an error when you read the label on the bottle? And why are you reading your roommates prescriptions bottles? Has he done something else that would make you suspicious?
the dopiness mentioned was more of a drugged out stupor for me and only occurred at dosage changes. Tingling in the fingers or toes lessens over time; occasionally have bad days. I do tend to have numbness in the tips of my fingers most of the time. These things I've gotten use to. What I've finally discovered from reading here, is the cause of the hair loss which was extreme over the last six months.
s, CT Scans, and been on TONS of different meds to see what would work - and then 4 years ago, I was prescribed tramadol...and it WORKED! I would take 800mg of Motrin first, then the tramadol if the headache began to develop into a migraine. Before I knew it, I was exceeding the maximum dosage and taking more than 8-10 tabs per day!!! Last Wednesday, i stopped taking it.
