Avatar f tn The LD50 for Water is 90g/kg. But when does nerve damage occur, if you trink too much water at once? When does it become toxic? Empirical data is also appreciated...
Avatar f tn However, Italian researchers have found that the LD50 (the lethal dose at which half of the animals die) of glucosamine sulfate is 8000 mg/kg. In humans this would be equivalent to ingesting over 500,000 mg at one time or 1,000 pills each containing 500 mg. I hope this is useful... I got the idea from the site that max safe dose is 1500mg, and your dog had twice that much. You may want to see the vet anyway, even tho it says in the previous paragraph that a lethal dose is 8000mg.
Avatar n tn my dad is 83 yrs old, has emphysema, copd everything...hes on ox, however he still struggles to breathe, won't allow anyone to go into the doctors office with him ! I know he is in stage 4, how long does that last? its been like this for a couple of years, he has difficulty even walking across the room and says that its a task to urinate. is there anything we can do as a family to make him more comfortable?
Avatar n tn opiates will make your spew, but i dont think the codeine even in high doses makes you sick, iv had 240mg of codeine before and it just makes you feel real high for a couple of hours, ulcers would be causing him pain,so im not so sure if its ulcers.HOw many is he taking at one time?
Avatar m tn This only becomes an issue if you are taking mega-doses of those vitamins and lose a lot of weight - suddenly, your body could be overdosed - there is an LD50 listing for vitamin A of 2000 mg/kg - LD = lethal dose, LD50 = 50% of the population will die at that dose, 2000 milligrams per kilogram of body weight. Anyone who tells you that herbs will not hurt you is just wrong.
Avatar m tn I know that this forum isn't adequate for my question but I am new to this site please forgive me for this. I am 17 years old, and 80 kg. My issue is I have just taken accidentally 10 grams of paracetamol aka acetaminophen I've just read that the ld50 is >250mg/kg so by this it means that the dose for me to die is 20 grams. Will I be safe for the next 24 hours because I can't seek any medical help for this time, what should I do? I am really scared.
990354 tn?1307132886 What is tramadol, is it similar to vicodin or percs?? Found it on a friend, and was worried they were in my spot- what is it??
Avatar n tn I've heard over and over again on here that tramadol is absolute hell to get off of. Like people are complaining more than someone who is trying to get off harder opiates. What's the big deal with this drug? Can someone answer me with specifics? Also, is there anyone out there that has just taken it for a short time and then stopped with no problems?
Avatar m tn t know the spelling but it is the ingredient in regular over counter tylenol times 3 plus Tramadol. The main ingredient in Ultram is Tramadol but there is a difference. When you are prescribed straight Tram it is w/out the tylenol. Apparently when taken together (Ultram prescription) the tramadol works faster and longer. It becomes more potent when you mix the two. It speeds up the tramadol effect if you will.
Avatar f tn Can I start the Lyrica while still on the patches and Tramadol and How can I reduce the Tramadol while continuing Fentayl with the Lyrica with minimalTramadol withdrawal symptoms.
Avatar m tn A tramadol overdose can be fatal. Overdose symptoms of a tramadol overdose may include drowsiness, shallow breathing, slow heartbeat, extreme weakness, cold or clammy skin, feeling light-headed, fainting, or coma. Tramadol may be habit-forming and should be used only by the person it was prescribed for. Tramadol should never be given to another person, especially someone who has a history of drug abuse or addiction. Keep the medication in a secure place where others cannot get to it.

Avatar f tn I feel like the tramadol is easing the withdrawl of vicodin but I know i will get hooked on the tramadol. Does anyone know about tramadol? I feel like a failure because I keep telling myself "today is the last day" i can get by on one a day but then I go back.....
Avatar f tn That was the last time I took any Tramadol. I had been tapering down from around 30 tramadol/day to 12/day for about 10 days prior to Monday. I had my gallbladder removed Monday 11/2 and have been taking Norco (hydro) since. My fiance has had control of the hydros and been giving me only the prescribed (2 tabs q 4 hours) since. I have had NO tramadol. I have been very afraid of overdosing since I almost did a couple weeks ago. Somtimes I feel ok, other times I want to explode.
Avatar f tn Some meds need to be separated by a short period of time. I guess these are more specifically SSRI's and MAOI's. I didn't see a major problem with the meds being taken consecutively. This should always be at the discretion of ones doctor though. I guess I neglected to emphasize the importance of only ever making medication changes after consultation with the treating physician. There are a number of factors to consider when changing meds. Withdrawal is only one.
Avatar m tn When was the last time you used Tramadol?
Avatar f tn 400 mgs at bedtime) My psychiatrist thinks the tramadol caused the mania. I know the tramadol made it worse, but looking back I can see that I had some symptoms before the tramadol. My father was also diagnosed as bipolar, so there is family history too. Anyway, my question is, as I taper the tramadol, should I also taper the seraquell ? To the extent that the psychiatrist is correct, and the tramadol caused the mania, will I no longer need the seraquell?
Avatar n tn ive been to see a second doctor today because i needed to be signed off from work whilst i get over the tramadol withdrawels and he agreed with me that taking an AD to help is the best thing to do and also agreed that tramadol does cause problems. yet my actual doctor says hes not heard of it before! goes to show how different doctors have different opinions!!
Avatar n tn Seizures (convulsions) have occurred in some people taking tramadol. You may be more likely to have a seizure while taking tramadol if you have a history of seizures or head injury, a metabolic disorder, or if you are taking certain medicines such as antidepressants, muscle relaxers, or medicine for nausea and vomiting. Take tramadol exactly as it was prescribed for you. Do not take it in larger doses or for longer than recommended by your doctor.
