1230912 tn?1273492770 So I e-mailed my doctor about it and she put in a script for TraMadol, in turn I had to tell her I was already on that for my back problems so she sent in a script for Naproxen. Personally I don't think this is going to help at all because I have never had good luck with it in non-script form but we shall see. She said if it doesn't work to call her in two weeks and she will have to put me on something to take everyday to prevent the headaches. Anybody else see the problem here?
Avatar m tn The tramadol will cause a headache or make the one you've got worse. Try excedrin - caffeine might make sleeping tough tonight, but it should help w/the headache. You'll just need to try and catch some extra zz's tomorrow.
Avatar f tn I took tramadol for years and it did help me to a point. As far as being addictive. Everyone is different but for me after I quit taking it I had a few withdrawl symptoms for about a week. Kinda like flu symptoms (chills, brain zaps...) But nothing that I couldn't get through on my own. It will cause what I call a "tramadol headache" which is its own type of headache probably a rebound headache, but a headache non the less!! Like I said It did help my pain but not my headache.
Avatar n tn They have been increasing in quantity and severity until about a year and a half ago I had to stop working completely. I am on a combination of darvacet, tramadol, topomax and maxalt. The combination leaves me in bed about 18 hours a day. I have had two MRIs. One with contrast and one without. Neither shows any good reason for my pain. The headache never goes away and I have no idea what makes it hit so hard every few days (room blacked out and crawling to the bathroom). Am I the only one.
Avatar n tn My sister-in-law presented to the ER about 3wks ago with a severe headache. She was hospitalized for over a wek for testing including labs(normal), CT head(normal), cisterogram(normal), lumbar puncture(normal), EMG(normal), MRI brain(normal) but then finally an MRI of her neck showed an area of demylenization. She has been otherwise healthy except for a diagnosis of celiec disease about 3yrs ago. She takes this very seriosly and follows her diet strictly.
Avatar f tn So for the past week I have been taking tramadol and don't know if this us related to the meds because when I don't take them I still feel the symptoms. I've been nauseous, low appetite, headache, short of breath, lightheaded, have had hiccups a lot, and very tired weak.
Avatar f tn ve had daily sometimes severe headaches, not relieved by standard Tylenol, Ibuprofen, Tramadol, even Toradol injection. They start when I wake up, lessen when I stand or sit upright, made worse by activity, leaning my head foreword. If I lay down flat with ice pack on my forehead I get significant relief until I get up. I finally relented and saw my doctor who ordered CT scan. Note from radiology "normal findings, incidental Colliod cyst".
Avatar f tn Anyone out there on a tramadol taper????? This is other attempt. I really need to do it this time. It has taken over my life. It is all I think about. Just to make sure that I have enough and that I never run out. I have been taking sooooo much over the summer:there is sooo many things to do. That I have found myself taking 180 over about 6-7 days. That equals about sometimes $800 a month. The credit cards are getting REAL REAL up there. I am sooooo scared!!! Anyone out there???
Avatar f tn The doc said to use Tramadol for break-through pain. I also take Celexa. I know Tramadol has big contraindications with both drugs. If I take any it's one 50 mg once or twice a day. When I do I feel really bad, like dizzy, light breathing, just not me at all. I've seen on the boards that people take Norco for break-through pain. Will that work? It doesn't seem to present as many complications as Tramadol. What do you all think?
Avatar f tn No I am taking tramadol, took the first dose last night was not a great reaction but at least put me to sleep, and seemed to help the head tremors after a while but I did not like the way I felt on it, I am only going to use it for a very bad day, its so hot here wondering if that is what is increasing my symptoms
Avatar f tn I'm on tramadol for back issues, I take it every day to once every 2 days, on the off days I often recieve sharp head pain and a pulsating feeling in the right side, I am also a worrier so that doesn't help. I asked the pharmacist and they said yes you will have a headache but nothing about sharp pain? Is that a form or headache?
Avatar f tn What is the best way to come off tramadol. I have been taking 150-200 mgs for several years and took Lortab for 5-7 years before that. I have thrown my Lortab out and now am trying to totally get off tramadol. Should I go cold turkey? I only had one yesterday, instead of my normal 3-4, and am feeling very lethargic and very unmotivated - perhaps some light depression. Is this causing this?
Avatar f tn s a weird way of putting it and Monday I wound up in the ER yet again and explained this and they were confused and said the only way they could think to name it is as a headache. Even though I know it's not what a headache feels like. But they gave me a prescription migraine pill (Tramadol) and a shot of some pain killer. After 20 minutes the doctor came back and I wasn't doing better so he decided to grab me a Xanax, shot me with a thing of morphine and ran leave a Cat scan.
621290 tn?1226720261 OMG...what is wrong with these doctors...My doctor said Tramodal is not addicitive. Im glad I didnt let her give me a script. I may need a different doctor. I had a few Trams someone gave me a while back and took one the other day. I am on day 3 off the Vicodin. I don't understand how Tramadol can be addictive...it didn't seem to do anything except give me a headache later on. Im dumping the Tramadol. Wow..
Avatar f tn Sudden onset of insomnia (I can only stay asleep in short intervals), strange cold sensation in my arms and upper body upon waking, extreme anxiety and depression, extreme tension headache, tachycardia, muscle twitching and jerking, personality change, low libido, anhedonia, lethargy and fatigue, heavy eyes, low appetite, brain fog and some cognitive decline following an irresponsible binge more than a month ago of tramadol in which I took up to 700 mg spread out across about 12 hours with no t
Avatar f tn my neurologist seems to think this the type of headache i am having. i have been treated for migraine w/o aura for the last 4 years. none of the preventatives have worked and the triptans only relieve the pain to a point. the biggest problem with this new type of headache is i have a severe allergy to aspirin, ibuprofen, tramadol, ect. do you have any other suggestions? he said he would research it and we would discuss it at my next appt.
1268921 tn?1288919056 Phew....I finally feel like the headache is subsiding...the pressure is still there, but not the pain. NS said to get PCP to rx meds and I am so happy I have a PCP who is willing to call in on her day off and get something called in. And, FWIW--it's ultram. I didn't want to start pain meds and don't want to become dependent on them--but am thrilled that the head pain is better... And,--getting numbness in right calf--more CM typical or complication (ie syrinx) typical??
1909342 tn?1321993880 I usually take one Tramadol ( 50 mg ) a day for a somewhat chronic pain in my neck, back and shoulders, since I cannot afford physical therapy at the time. Yesterday I took a lot of Ibuprofen and Paracetamol instead, because I had an important exam at the University and didn't want to be groggy. I am concerned, when to start taking Tramadol again or going with the combination of Ibuprofen and Paracetamol instead, since Ibuprofen also has an effect on inflammations. Am I taking to much?
Avatar f tn I read in one of the threads that you can't mix tramadol and antidepressants. Is this true? What are the risks? My Dr. has me on both - I am trying to very slowly cut back on the Tram. I pill every week. I know it is painfully slow - but it is all I am able to do right now. I am working on alternative pain management methods, and getting the courage up to dump the pills once and for all.
Avatar f tn Has any tried ultram or tramadol? I read somewhere that they help the pain and they give you more energy. That sounds great if they wk.
Avatar n tn PLZ don't take ultram ,It is not supposed to be used for people who are opiate addicted. There are many posts on here about people going threw hell to come off of tram ,if you put "tramadol in search you can read some . good luck with detox you can do this .
