Avatar f tn My doctor replaced 1/2 of my daily Tramadol dose with Vicodin and I continued that for a year. I did get very uncomfortable withdrawal symptoms from the Tramadol when that switch was made. However... My doctor a year later completely took me off the Tramadol and replaced it with Morphine ER with Percocet for break through pain and I had no withdrawal symptoms from stopping the Tramadol at all!!!
Avatar f tn I was successfully addicted to tramadol for many years !!!! As IBK said tell us more tramadol can be just as addicting as other opiates. doctors are big on saying its not addictive but many of us found out the very hard way that was wrong ....
1019316 tn?1262615059 Hi everyone, I was prescribed tramadol for two weeks after minor surgery. When I ran out of my script of 30 I started to feel withdrawal symptoms (weird considering it is not supposed to be addictive yeah right). I took 2-3 80mg a day. Today was my second day off of them and I know the w/d can't last long. But the question I want to ask is, I found one of my tramadol today that was left on a dresser and took it. Will taking this tramadol post pone my withdrawal symptoms?

Avatar f tn Found your site yesterday and instead of being on the verge of giving up, I am now on my way to my doctor to ask for Tramadol (and to use every fiber of my being to try not to hit him for not telling me such things existed when he knew I was suffering terrible withdrawl from the tapering off oxycontin and oxy ir's) My question is... since I don't trust my doctor anymore... what dose should I ask for? I was on 100mg oxy twice a day and 20mg oxy ir, 4 times a day...
323551 tn?1255174750 Take care, and keep posting for advice and support. Lots of people have successfully tapered off of Tramadol. You can do it. All the best!
Avatar f tn Tramadol works like an opiate pain pill. DO NOT take Tramadol as the withdrawal is very bad when you try to stop even after using it for a short time. With Subutex I think you are suppose to slowly reduce the amount you take until you can stop. There is no easy way out by replacing one pill with another, it just continues your addiction. NO Tramadol, don't do it even once. Do you have a Doctor that can help?
Avatar f tn I have been taking vicodin and tramadol for over 15 years and really want to stop taking them because they are ruining my life. But the pain from withdrawal is unbearable. I am at my wits end n don't know how to ease the withdrawal symptoms. Any ideas?
Avatar m tn The first time I stopped taking Loratab, I had WD, I also had pain. Someone had given me a half bottle of tramadol and said "you can take this for pain, it won't get you high though". I was in a lot of pain so I took 2 50mg. The pain went away, but so did the WD's from the Loratab.I took 2 of the50 mg twice a day. Four days later, I didn't have the pain anymore (it was from a nearly broken jaw), and I didn't have WD's either.
Avatar m tn I too am addicted to tramadol, have been for 3-4 years now. Have you tried to give up tramadol and had problems with the withdrawal or are you yet to try? How long have you been using tramadol for? I just tried giving it up for the first time yesterday. I took my last pill at 1 am on December 31st and had caved in 19 hours later.... I am thinking I need to taper but I just want to get this over and done with as soon as possible. We can get through this together!!!
Avatar m tn I would suggest you re-post this in the Addiction: Substance Abuse forum as it is pretty active and you will find many people knowledgable about tramadol and much, much support. Or, you can also find EmilyPost's continuing journal on ultram/tramadol withdrawal. I am a recovering addict but tramadol was not my drug of choice.
Avatar f tn I will be going to Stanford soon and hopefully they can adjust it. Do you know any other medicines like Tramadol that are good for pain that are non narcotic?
Avatar n tn I was taking Tramadol 50 mg. for fibromyalgia pain for approximately seven years, always prescribed by my physician. I fluctuated between 2-4 pills per day, but usually just 2 at nighttime. Last week my doctor put me on Cymbalta and told me that I couldn't take the Tramadol with the Cymbalta, so I discontinued the it. Ever since, I'm barely getting any sleep and I seem to be breathing shallowly. Even at this dose, could I be experiencing withdrawal symptoms?

Avatar m tn Hey guys, Im new here and wanted some advice. Ive been taking Tramadol and Hydrocodone together for about three months off and on, perscribed of course, then I started reading how bad withdrawals can be from the Tramadol, so I quit taking it cold turkey with little side effects. Now I'm getting ready to quit this Hydrocodone, just a little scared from withdrawal and what to expect. will it be bad after just three months. averaged about 40 mgs. daily.
1315055 tn?1294367046 You can safely take the melatonin & the GABA but the 5htp & DLPA are best left until after your last tramadol as they are precursors for serotonin & norepinephrine which are already being enhanced by the tramadol. GABA does not readily cross the blood brain barrier but some people still report finding it helpful so it's worth a try since you have some. Best wishes.
Avatar m tn I have been taking 50mg of Tramadol once a day for about a year now for Rheumatoid Arthritis pain. I just got some steroid shots that have alleviated much of the pain. I don't need the Tramadol anymore will I experience withdrawal at this dose if I go cold turkey?
Avatar m tn After taking 150 mg tramadol for 2 1/2 years, and tapering for 4 months, how long will withdrawal last? This discussion is related to Tramadol withdrawal.
Avatar f tn I can only tell you my experience with tramadol and methadone.I took tramadol for withdrawal pain to get off methadone.IT did me more harm than good.I got alot of my information about this problem right here on this site. It can make the withdrawal last twice as long and add more pain. You will only have to go through withdrawal from the trams and when you want off the trams its possible you won't be done with withdrawal from the methadone .
