Avatar n tn Hello there, Perhaps the tramadol and the amoxile were too strong a pain reliever for your stomach. You say your tooth is abcessed. You need to get it fixed. The last thing you want is an infection or complications. I advise you strongly to get it fixed.
968560 tn?1307451498 im think about asking him for ultram(tramadol) for the back pain. is anybody familiar with this med for pain? he is giving me ambien 10mg for sleep. i don want to get addicted to anything.
Avatar f tn Now I understand you better. You don't get the high that most addicts and are a pain pt. who became "physicaly dependent" on narcotics. This is good for you because it makes quitting much much easier to taper and quit.. Many people treat all addictions the same but in your cases, it is much different. Tramadol, doesn't even give you a high and isn't even regraded as a good pain med.

Avatar f tn I would need to take something else the other month. I was in Hawaii recently and I saw what coconuts look like growing on a palm tree. There is a tough green husk and underneath is the brown coconut we know, and inside of that is the white coconut "meat". Tramadol is the first medicine I've taken that gets all the way to the "meat" of my endometriosis pain.
Avatar f tn Tramadol has taken care of the pain. My pain physician says it is safe but I have been depressed and my stomach hurts for the last three days. I went down to 350 mg a month ago. Would I have withdrawals at this dosage for this amount of time? I can't take NSAIDS either, they burn a hole in my stomach, can anyond recommend a non narcotic that has nothing to do with opiate receptors?
Avatar f tn I will be going to Stanford soon and hopefully they can adjust it. Do you know any other medicines like Tramadol that are good for pain that are non narcotic?
Avatar n tn Severe centre abdomen pain. Often triggered shortly after eating (15 to 20 minutes after eating), though not always and sometimes happens without eating (maybe 10% of attacks). The pain does not go off to the right, does not go through to the back. It is a clenching / wrenching pain in the centre just under the rib cage. The pain is intense to the point of causing fainting on occasion. It makes it difficult to breath.
Avatar m tn I have tried Tramadol/ ultram and it did nothing for pain. It just made me feel weird not high feeling weird just yucky. Then after finding out the withdrawals people had from it and the seizures i stopped taking it really fast. I didn't taper because I hadn't taken very much of it but usually a taper is the way to go. Please try and find something else for pain.
Avatar m tn Anyway, the doctor recently prescribed Tramadol for the pain. It did help ease the pain, but I also found out that it helped with another big problem I have...depression. I've tried Effexor, Wellbutrin and a few other meds in the past for my depression, but they really didn't do much for me. The Tramadol, I have found, works for the depression like the others couldn't. I have energy. When I wake up, I actually feel like doing stuff. I don't feel negative.
Avatar n tn i am on tramadol i dont really take it cause it give me head aches but i do have to take it for my pain. but it did give me stomach aches head aches not wanting to eat ... you may want to bring it up to his doctor that it seems like he is getting addicted to it... like call him when your bf isn't around or something...
Avatar f tn I've been really sick for the last few weeks. It started as a uti was treated for it and wound up in the hospital twice last week with excruciating pain in lower back and abdomen. First they said it was a kidney stone then after the cat scan they said no there's no stone. The cat scan showed a lot of swelling in my lower back. I've also been having strange bowls sometimes with lots of blood. I'm constantly nauseas and throwing up.
Avatar n tn Hi Patient! I wanted to write the moderators and whomever is in charge about the annoying urban renewal of our site. Please feel free to forward this to whomever needs to know. (a) I do not like the commercials moving down and over our forums and limiting the number of postings we can see on each page (b) I do not like that only two reply people are shown to one side when it used to show a half-dozen...showing more helps me to find my name if I need to get back to somebody.
Avatar f tn m all but certain that the limited use of tramadol is affecting my depression. I took 80mg of tramadol just 3 hours ago for a migraine and it knocked it over. But now I am scared about tomorrow and the next day. I was told this was a non-narcotic solution to pain problems. For some reason, over the counter panadeine causes great pain to my stomach- it bloats and really kills with pain. It barely responds to Zantac. I need the truth about tramadol from people who have experienced it.
Avatar f tn I also have 20 tramadol I was thinking of weaning with. I know tramadol has really bad withdrawals but if I only use it for 5 days will I still have the withdrawals? I really just need to get off the pills but be able to go to work and function. I know I'm asking a lot and I'm sure you guys are thinking well you played with fire now your going to get burned.
Avatar f tn I have a severe stomach problem and for the past six months have been in and out of the hospital taking drugs in there. i am currently taking tramadol and it does not work for me therefore ihave been taking more than i should, my doctor prescribed me stadol nose spray but i heard it would put me in withdrawals if i had recently taken other opiates/ does anyone know how long they last or if it is that bad because i need real pain relief and i am afraid to use it.
Avatar m tn I took 3,200mg, sometimes 4,000mg of Ibuprofen (IB) for over 10 years. I have ruined my stomach. I take a lot of stomach medications including 2 Prilosec per day. My PCP's (I had several over the years) knew I took that much but did not want to prescribe narcotics so they told me to do what I had to do. My current PCP of five years, told me to stop taking them immediately on my first appointment. She diagnosed the cause of my pain and prescribed me a narcotic.
1459410 tn?1285695005 So I found some Tramadol that had been prescribed to my 18yr old daughter for her shoulder pain and long story short - do not resort to Tramadol. I never got the high or euphoria from it that others I guess have and never felt like I had to have it, but I did take it right before bedtime each night and was rewarded with a good nights sleep. Chronic pain can really put the weight on a person. So after gaining 25 pounds I decided it was time to take it back off.
Avatar f tn I am currently weaning myself off so that I can conceive a child, but it will take at least another month or two. Could it just be that the tramadol irritates my stomach? I also take excedrin on a daily basis for migraines that I have suffered from for years.
Avatar m tn I went to a local pain management doctor who gave me a prescription for klonopin for help with the jitters of withdrawl. Well I lined up the pills on my dresser so they would be ready and I would not have to fumble with prescription bottles when in withdrawl. I took the first 2 and thats all I remember. Apparently I took an overdose and blackedout for a week.
Avatar n tn I get scared, if it were not for the sick tummy I would probably take the stuff longer but there are so many horrible stories about doing this. Back pain is bad but Tramadol messed my tumy up so much. Is this a normal thing for it to do also? Thank you for the advice.
Avatar f tn 4 yrs. I just take vicodin for the pain now-also Cymbalta for the depression and pain of depression. That's all I take for pain, I still take other meds but they aren't for pain. My friend who tried it had severe stomach pains and had to stop after the 2nd dose. I had to stay with her all night because her side effects were very bad. Everyone is different. Good Luck with your research.
Avatar n tn I have been taking pain injections for my back pain. Two years ago, my Dr gave me Tramadol. I took 1/2 pill 3 times a day for about a year. No problems I can tell. Then, back pain got worse and I started to take 3 pills a day. For the past 10 months I have been sick to my tummy. Have cut back two days ago, to 1 1/2 pills and still sick tummy. I am losiing weight..don't feel like eating. I am 5'4" and weigh 108 lbs. Can this all be from Tramdol?
