Avatar n tn I am now experiencing horrible clinical depression. For those who are much wiser about this than I, is severe depression something to be expected when stopping/drastically lowering narcos? I can't see my way out of this (I am seeing a doctor). Everything looks so hopeless and dark. This depression came on rather suddenly. I am terrified it won't end, and almost can't stop crying. i have no support system.
Avatar m tn I don't know what happened to my old thread on this topic, but anyway, Im 19 years old and I'v had severe ocd and anxiety since I was little kid. I was also diagnosed with depression about 4 years ago. I'v been prescribed about every anti-depressant on the market, as well as a couple different bi-polar meds, all of which did absolutely nothing for me, except have negative side effects.
Avatar m tn I've been having back pain recently which stems from something that I have had since I was a kid, although it seems to be getting worse as I get older. What will happen is that the pain will start in my back then move down my legs. Sometimes it hurts so bad that I can hardly walk. I've been to the doctors many times, but they can never pinpoint what is causing it. Anyway, the doctor recently prescribed Tramadol for the pain.
Avatar f tn Concomitant use of butorphanol with Tramadol can potentiate the effects of butorphanol on respiratory depression, CNS depression (e.g., dizziness, impaired mental function), and sedation. Tramadol is eliminated from the body anywhere from 15-30 hours. If you must take Tramadol with butorphanol, you'll need to reduce the Tramadol dose and use the longest dosing frequency of butorphanol.
Avatar n tn However, I was able to go without with severe depression until I was able to get more. The doctor would not give me a prescription for pain so I bought them on the streets. I had severe back and leg pain and they refuse to help me with my pain level. So I became depressed, I found out a person can buy them so that is what I did until the lady that sold them to me died of heart failure. After a break down I was finally given Welllbutrin aka Bupropion XL to take.
Avatar f tn I was prescribed neurontin for Tramadol WD symptoms. I have been taking the Tramadol for 5 years at 8 / 50mg tabs a day . How much gambepin did you take a day?? I'm really afraid of the Wdls because they are so severe!
Avatar f tn I suffer from Major Clinical Depression, Anxiety, Panic Disorder and Chronic Pain. I was initially prescribed SSRI based Anti-Depressants for my Depression and Tramadol 200SR for my pain. The SSRI medication "Ecitalopram" i was told would take 5 weeks to kick in. In that time i developed serious side effects and instead of taking me off this medication my doctor threw more pills at me.
Avatar m tn Thank you for the reply jf you have any other suggestions on how to cope with tramadol withdrawals it would be greatly appreciated thanks again,
Avatar n tn I abused lortabs for several years. I finally quit more than two years ago. The first year I was miserably depressed and eventually I relapsed only I'm abusing tramadol now. I have learned that there were some other issues that contributed to my misery during my 1st year off of lortabs. I was diagnosed with sleep apnea soon after I started abusing tramadol. I'm on CPAP treatment for the sleep apnea now. However, I have not experienced life off of tramadol with the treatment.
Avatar f tn A physician may be able to prescribe him some Requip for the restless leg syndrome and possibly something like Seroquel low dose for the insomnia. Tramadol also has an effect on the serotonin receptor in the central nervous system. That means he may also need an SSRI antidepressant to deal with some depression that may develop as the result of your withdrawal, but I believe that you mention that he is already on Celexa (the dose may need to be increased).
Avatar m tn I suffer from depression and sometimes it is severe and tramadol has been the ONLY thing I have ever taken that works wonders for the depression. How do I ease the withdrawals for the times I do not have any for myself? Any help is greatly appreciated as I do not want to lose a job and/or family over this.
2117997 tn?1339537769 Hi ribs. I only took Tramadol for a short time so I don't know much about it. However, I know there are people here who have had to detox from it. Doctors seem to think it is non-addictive so they will prescribe it instead of the regular opiates. I honestly don't know if it will set you back or not but please be careful with them.
Avatar m tn Ultram is nothing more than the Brand name for Tramadol and Ultram ER is a timed release of Tramadol. Ultracet is merely Tramdol and Tylenol in the same pill.
Avatar f tn Hi Marilyn, I was on Tramadol for 4 years before being switched to stronger medicines. How long have you been taking the Tramadol? My doctor replaced 1/2 of my daily Tramadol dose with Vicodin and I continued that for a year. I did get very uncomfortable withdrawal symptoms from the Tramadol when that switch was made. However...
Avatar n tn He knows nothing about Doctor Shopping, it was my idea for him to see a doctor somewhere to get help for his severe pain - he has degenerative arthritis in his neck with compressed and bulging disks so I thought I was helping by taking him to my local doctor (I didn't realize he wouldn't mention the Tramadol and I think his anger, etc.
Avatar f tn I was just diagnosed with a severe case of fibromyalsi. My doc put me on tramadol and oxycodone. He said that I will probley be on these for the rest of my life. My grandmother had this too. Does this treatment sound normal to everyone?
Avatar f tn My doctor made this sound as a safe alternative to opiod pain medicine. I remember telling my husband about it b/c he was concerned about me taking it. I said it was a non-narcotic non-addictive pain medicine. My doctor told me so!! This was several years ago. Boy were they wrong. I think tramadol is more dangerous than the hydrocodone that I was taking. You can not just stop taking it or you may risk have severe seizures (I did). I was taking tramadol when I would run out of norco's.
Avatar f tn I have chronic fatigue and severe depression, nor to mention anxiety, which has caused me to go up on the ativan...it gets worse as I taper more tramadol...so i'm stuck...I cannot hardly get out of bed each day....why is this happening...what is going on in my brain (i am on 4-5 (1mg.) ativan a day from 8am to 11pm. Not tapering ativan yet. I THOUGHT I WOULD FEEL BETTER BY THIS POINT ON SUCH A LOW DOSE OF TRAMADOL/???
459155 tn?1264008142 My DOC is tramadol no its not a good idea , tramadol is hell to come off of ....
1078559 tn?1255957403 I went through hell with both severe caffeine withdrawals on top of the tramadol cessation. Severe nausea, severe headaches and a feeling of depression and disconnection from my normal moods, interests and activities. I also had been taking tramadol off and on for around 2 years. My normal dosage was 8-10 50mg. tablet daily. I have stopped both this and the soma cold turkey.
Avatar f tn I believe it has really helped me with depression. I have absolutely no depression and no cravings. Good luck to you. For me it was a very long and painful process. It still is, but I'm sure tapering will help quite a bit. You can do this!
Avatar n tn However, the withdrawals from tramadol were really bad. Stomach issues for weeks, the severe anxiety only lasted maybe 24 hours or so but the depression lasted awhile. Insomnia took about 10 days to get over, which was probably the worst part. I am in the US so I dont see a lot of info on DHC, it seems to be more common in the UK.
