Avatar m tn I am looking for responses from others that have been in this boat. I never took the drug for recreation. It never made me high it just relieved the Restless Legs. I am a recovering alcoholic and have not had a drink or recreational drug in almost twenty nine years. I have always take my sobriety seriously. My doctor new of my history and assured me the Ultram was safe. Where do I go from here? What's the difference between asking a question and posting a poll?
Avatar m tn s on here, How many used becouse of pain and how many used for recreation, and how many are still in chronic pain without the pain meds. Im still in very bad pain even tho I do have some days better than others. I really need to know this today.
Avatar f tn The doctor gave me Tramadol for my endometriosis pain. I have a full week of almost intolerable pain every monthl. Tramadol is one of the few drugs I can tolerate with regards to nausea (Vicodin et al seem to just make me puke immediately), and it does actually manage to relieve my pain fully or at least 80-90% (when I mix it with Aleve). The problem is this. I have to admit that I enjoy the Tramadol. It makes me feel good. Of course it does -- it makes everyone feel good.
Avatar m tn I've been having back pain recently which stems from something that I have had since I was a kid, although it seems to be getting worse as I get older. What will happen is that the pain will start in my back then move down my legs. Sometimes it hurts so bad that I can hardly walk. I've been to the doctors many times, but they can never pinpoint what is causing it. Anyway, the doctor recently prescribed Tramadol for the pain.
2117936 tn?1334693230 hello and welcome. did the doctor give you a taper plan? you cant stop tramadol cold turkey.it can cause seizures. some of the symptoms of withdrawal can be,anxiety, sweating insomnia, nausea, shakiness, diarrhea, brain zaps.
Avatar f tn Why is it only norcos that screw me???? Any advice? Too young for all these meds but my doctor said the outlook for pain control is grim......
Avatar m tn ve been on it for much of your life so for me Tramadol helps with the little things while maintaining less abuse potential. Everyone is different and abstinence is not always the goal ahead of self care assisted by a drug similar to codeine v full agonist. Plus Tramadol assists to deal with the withdrawal and rehab elements using a far less load than the others for me.
Avatar m tn Have you tried to give up tramadol and had problems with the withdrawal or are you yet to try? How long have you been using tramadol for? I just tried giving it up for the first time yesterday. I took my last pill at 1 am on December 31st and had caved in 19 hours later.... I am thinking I need to taper but I just want to get this over and done with as soon as possible. We can get through this together!!!
Avatar f tn I was successfully addicted to tramadol for many years !!!! As IBK said tell us more tramadol can be just as addicting as other opiates. doctors are big on saying its not addictive but many of us found out the very hard way that was wrong ....
2119804 tn?1334861046 Sir, you are doing well. I do have chronic pain, as I worked hard labor jobs while in college, but then again, what 51 year old doesn't have pain? Unlike you, I discovered pills for recreation. Tramadol is available online with a "false" prescription, and when I could not get a regular pain pill, I supplemented with those. However, I was solely on Tramadol for about a year and it is in a special class by itself.
Avatar m tn t think the Tram Warriors on MedHelp that we hear from are those that were put on a short term, 5 day, controlled step down script for Tramadol. The potential for addictiion to Trams after being addicted to another opiate is VERY REAL. And we need to KNOW all we can on our new road to recovery....be aware of pitfalls and misnomers out there. Your situation seems to be different than most I've read on here. The use of this 5 day plan is NOT what many others on here are even talking about.
Avatar m tn Do not substitute Tramadol for hydros. Tramadol is extremely addictive and some here have said they are more difficult to withdrawal from than some other drugs. You can find many threads about the Tram withdrawals. I would just stay the course the way you are now. It will be difficult for awhile, but SO WORTH IT!!! Good luck and you are in my prayers!!!!
Avatar f tn I started taking them in the first place for pure recreation, that was a bad idea. I no longer get a buzz it jusst sort of made me feel good and let me go about my day. I have 120 more on the way tommorrow because im just not ready to begin going through the physicalities, but with this last batch im going to use them to ween myself off. Im very afraid of whats to come. Yes i know i took the easy way out and got more but this will be the begining of the end.
Avatar f tn (10-15 a day). I have a script for 15-50mg tramadol. Should I use the tramadol to help ease the lortab comedown? Will it even help? Or should I go cold turkey? I've read other posts about tramadol, and don't know which way to go. I do know I want my life back, and I can't afford the down time of the painful withdrawls I get. Experienced advice would be greatly helpful.
Avatar f tn Tramadol works like an opiate pain pill. DO NOT take Tramadol as the withdrawal is very bad when you try to stop even after using it for a short time. With Subutex I think you are suppose to slowly reduce the amount you take until you can stop. There is no easy way out by replacing one pill with another, it just continues your addiction. NO Tramadol, don't do it even once. Do you have a Doctor that can help?
1019316 tn?1262615059 Hi everyone, I was prescribed tramadol for two weeks after minor surgery. When I ran out of my script of 30 I started to feel withdrawal symptoms (weird considering it is not supposed to be addictive yeah right). I took 2-3 80mg a day. Today was my second day off of them and I know the w/d can't last long. But the question I want to ask is, I found one of my tramadol today that was left on a dresser and took it. Will taking this tramadol post pone my withdrawal symptoms?
Avatar m tn Thank you for the reply jf you have any other suggestions on how to cope with tramadol withdrawals it would be greatly appreciated thanks again,
148588 tn?1465778809 “Less than one day in and Congressional Republicans are already greasing the skids to give away or sell off America’s public lands, forests, and wildlife refuges,” Jen Rokala, executive director for the Center for Western Priorities, said in a statement. “What’s worse, politicians are using smoke and mirrors to hide the cost of stealing away our public lands, while ripping off American taxpayers in the process.
Avatar f tn I understand about the "stigma" behind fibromyalgia. I have had another doc. recommended from a friend in recovery. She too was diagnosed with fibro. when they could't find anything wrong with her. She now takes a crap load of vit. D, to treat her defiencey, and feels great. I take Concerta for the fatigue, which has always been my biggest complaint and why I started going to the doctors in the first place. I take 36mg. not everyday. I do not get hyped up, or high in any way.
621711 tn?1223570604 maybe the doctor does not know your friend is in drug court? tramadol is an extended release narcotic opiod. unlike most other opioids, Tramadol is not considered a controlled substance but is categorized S4. In some states, there are subsets of Schedule 4 with additional requirements, but I dont' think tramadol is one of them.
Avatar f tn Possibly but not probably. Buprenorphine would work on the opiate side of things, but not on the antidepressant properties of Tramadol. Plus, most doctors don't recognize the abuse potential of Tramadol. I believe most every doctor would suggest a Tramadol taper over a Suboxone detox.
Avatar m tn Hey there, Actually I am on sub for tramadol w/d. Tramadol has properties similar to morphine/heroin though much less potent. The w/d from trams is horrific. My doctor and I agreed to a short term very lose dose of sub with the knowledge that I may have some w/d when tapering off sub. I am taking 2mg once a day and am on day 11 free of trams. (yay!) I will start to taper down in the next couple of weeks. It has saved my life. I have no cravings, can work and be a mom.
